We are 3 couples from Germany and had a very excellent stay at the lodge. Clean rooms, a great breakfast with fresh fruits and the best coffee in South Africa. Alfred is a best host with good tips for restaurants and sight seeing. it was a perfect beginning to our visit to South africa and we will come back to...

The first thing that I noticed was the run down entrance to the property, with a shabby gate. Secondly the all pervading smell of cigarette smoke everywhere. Dark and shabby and unwelcoming. Tired. One bench to sit on round the pool, the cleanliness of which was dubious. Cracked toilet basin in the bathroom. The view is average by South African...

Thank you for your feedback. I am sincerely sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. Regarding your remarks about the appearance of the guest house I find rather odd because you saw the picture/s on the website. On arrival I had explained to you that the house was built as a private home and not as a Boutique Hotel....

The pool was dirty with no where to sit, The chairs in the sitting area under the patio, were occupied with people all smoking cigarette and pipes. The lounge was also the owners lounge with his things lying around including his shirt which he took off and threw over the back of a chair. We chose to leave without eating...

We chose this place for the location as we were exploring the scenery of Mpumbalanga and a reasonable drive to Kruger. In addition it is only a short walk into town in the evenings where there is a variety of good restaurants for dinner. We stayed in the Secretary Bird room,  it was spacious and comfortable with a great shower....

The lovely water pressure, friendly host and crisp linen could not detract from our very dark, viewless, aircon-less, Tv-less room. I don't think I've ever paid so much - ZAR1000 p/night - for so little. Very old-fashioned furnishings, architecture and fittings, dark and musty. In fact Sabie as a village is almost entirely charmless and I would strongly recommend Graskop...

We stayed at Valley View Lodge with Alfred for 3 nights in order to do The Panorama Route. The Lodge is in a great location and within walking distance of many of the restaurants and shops in the town. It is also ideally located for sightseeing in the area. Alfred was a wonderful host and very generous with his time...

The most important part of my review is to tell you how great the hosts were. We felt like Alfred and Ann truly care about our experience. We decided to make a spontaneous trip to Kruger on Easter Sunday and Ann helped us arrange it (even if she thought we were crazy for hoping to get into the park when...

Thank you for the review, Abby! It was wonderful to have you as guests and are very glad that you enjoyed your stay with us! Regarding check-in time, it is at 16h00, which gives us time to make up the rooms and shop for supplies. If you had told us you would arrive earlier, we would have been there to...

We stayed one night in Valley View on our way to the panorama route and the north of the Kruger Park. It is a pleasant large building with three large appartments. The room we had was large, has a separate entry to the garden and a beautiful bathroom. The lounge has a nice but not spectacular view on the valley...
