We found this to be a first class hotel in a really clean and pretty French town. Situated right by the river and a short walk to everything. The accommodation was spacious, clean, and well looked after, the food was above the standard normally found and well presented, the staff were also very helpful and attentive. We would certainly be happy...

We stayed in the old part of the hotel in the same building as the restaurant. The room and bathroom were fine . Our evening meal in the restaurant was excellent as was our breakfast in the bar area. Unfortunately there is a manhole cover in the road outside, which has enough traffic in the night to keep you awake,...

Our welcome a tLe Cheval Blanc was probably the coolest I have ever had. We were given the keys to our rooms and directed over the road to a different hotel (Clovis) where there was no one in reception. We found our rooms - actually they were OK except the bath/shower had no provision for a curtain so the bathroom...

Good welcome, good wifi, good accommodation. Dinner : Food was really good. Breakfast: the buffet breakfast has taken over France. The coffee was good and the breakfast couldn't be faulted. Its near Poitiers so very convenient for Futuroscope and a good stopping off point for the Brits on the way to the Sw of France.

This place is a complete joke they charge 62 Euros for an empty hotel no staff a locked door no receptionist no bar or restaurant and after a really long drive do you really need this! Once you have unpacked your car and trudged to the door you soon realise you can't get in, and there is a sign saying"...

We stayed for a night as a stopover whilst travelling through France. The hotel was easy to find and the staff very friendly. They humoured me with my very limited French and spoke very slowly and clearly. We stayed in the "Clovis" hotel, which is a few metres from the main part "Le Cheval Blanc", which I hadn't originally realised....

Le Cheval Blanc & Hotel Clovis are twin hotels just across the road fron each other. You Breakfast at Clovis & dine at Le Cheval Blanc, sleeping at either, or in our cases both (not at the same time). Clovis is more modern, Cheval Blanc has more character, but both are equally comfortable. The food is excellent, the dining terrace...

We booked this hotel on the basis of it being highly rated for its food. The room was small but reasonably comfortable and looked out onto the river and square and was quite acceptable for the price. However, the food was disappointing and certainly not of the standard we were hoping for, and the pictures of the food on the...

Cheval blanc We have eaten in the general restaurant at the front of the building before. The food was good and we had a pleasant time there. This time we were taken as guests, to the formal dining area at the rear of the premises. The service was not a good as expected, and were kept waiting on more than...

Welcoming small town with an abundance of flower displays and a beautiful archway to the older part of the village. There seemed to be running water everywhere, there was even a fountain in the middle of one of the streams. We had a room at the back of the Clovis hotel block with full view of the church and clock...

“Our room in the hotel building faced the square and was bright and sunny and not too noisy. There are also, I believe, rooms in the main building.”

“We asked for a quiet room and were put on the side which sides onto a side walk. Although there was no view we had no noise, so if you want quietness above view book asking for a quiet room as we had read a review that said it could be noisy facing onto the river side.”
