Only staying for the night so basically picked the hotel closest to my budget. The hotel is easy to find on the sea front, with a few parking spaces. If you cannot find a space at the hotel there is plenty of free street parking. A warm friendly greeting was waiting and within a moment I had my key and...

We stayed for one night. Hotel is is a great location near the Rest Bay end of Porthcawl. Easy walk to town centre, Coney Beach pleasure park, Trecco Bay. Room and ensuite was spacious. Tea/Coffee in room. TV in room. Room was a bit dated and tired, as were the corridors leading to the rooms. Bed was comfortable and we...

I've given it a 3 rating but feel it should only be a 2.5. The staff are absolutely lovely but the hotel its self falls way below par. The rooms are dingy and in need of tlc as is the rest of hotel. Bedding is clean and beds comfortable. I don't know when the windows were last cleaned, I know...

Beautiful views over the Channel where you can watch awesome sunrises and sunsets. Excellent chef but menu stayed the same all weekend. Very friendly and helpful staff. Bedroom we stayed in was tired and shabby. No working bulb in the bedside lamp, worn carpet, uncomfortable bed and bathroom without bathmat or floor mat. This was a shame as the building,...

Was there for a wedding and couldn't fault the place. From the ceremony to the end of the night everything went smoothly and the manager couldn't have been more helpful as were the staff. The conservatory makes for a great reception room and is large enough for around 80 guests, possibly more.

Saturday lunch, Easter weekend. Table for 3. We were initially disappointed that their usual a la carte menu had been abandoned for the long weekend in favour of a shortened set price version but were pleased that we all managed to find choices we were happy with. Mum-in-law ordered Mushroom & Truffle soup followed by salmon in ginger & chilli...

I had booked this hotel based on the scores on Booking.com, which were decent...if I'd checked TA I may have thought twice. Anyway I'll start with the positives. Location is great, right on the seafront with a patio area to sit and enjoy a drink in the sunshine, we enjoyed that. Bed was large and fairly comfortable, shower was better...

Stayed here while seeing a show at the theatre - the room was so cold you could literally keep ice in there - the curtains actually blew in the night with the wind coming through the window frame - the beds were just appalling - when you sat on them they shot across the room as they were so light...

I was in 2 minds whether or not to stay at Fairways after reading some of the other recent reviews that really slated this hotel.... but I thought I would make up my own mind and made my reservation. I cannot fault the staff here at all - they were very friendly and went out of there way to make...
