The guesthouse snjofell is placed in the middle of nowhere, next to the glacier. The staff was not very kind. The room is too small and basic. The bathroom is also small and not very clean. Recommended is you do not have any other alternative to rest.

I had no illusion as to what to expect in this guesthouse. The rooms are minimalistic. The walls are fairly thin and you will hear full conversations from your neighbors. The bathrooms were communal. All that I could really care less about because I was looking for a place to sleep, not a resort. What did bother me though was...

We stopped at this hotel to eat in their restaurant. The food is simple but very good. Prices are expensive for Europeans but in Iceland is a mid-priced place to stay. All the buses visiting Hellnar stop here so it can be easily crowded.

My daughter and I booked a room with private bathroom and it was very neat and quiet there. The room is by itself and looks pretty new. The breakfast was nice too. Location was perfect by the fishing village and a beautiful trail. This was the best place we stayed in Iceland!

I was nervous about this booking after reading the "The Birds" review but I was pleasantly surprised, even though we were also directed to the same house number 14 a couple of roads away. Perhaps some things have been changed based on that review (well done to reviewer and guesthouse if so!). We were directed to house number 14 which...

We were in Iceland for 10 days and stayed in a different guesthouse each night. This one was the worst. The reception is in the restaurant but the rooms are in converted personal homes. The front desk personnel gave us a key and a paper with Gilbakki 14 written on it and told us we had to drive to the...

Hellnar is less of a town and more of a collection of cottages. You stay here because it is ideally situated to all the attractions along the shore. The walking path along the shore is just a little ways down the hill. The rooms are clean and sparse. The bathrooms are clean and functional. The restaurant is the real draw....

I stayed here with 2 friends in early July. It has a beautiful location just a couple hundred meters from the water, and right off the main road through the Snæfellsnes peninsula. There isn't much in Arnarstapi -- just this inn and another small restaurant, really. But it is a nice location to relax and walk along the ocean. You...

My friend and I stayed stayed one night at Guesthouse Snjofell and had a great experience. We asked for a late arrival due to the ferry schedule, and our hosts were accomodating. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We woke to a wholesome and filling buffet breakfast. We took a morning walk to the beautiful cliffs nearby...

We stayed for just one night, but I'd have liked to stay longer. The guesthouse faces the sea: to sit on the verandah outside the restaurant in the afternoon sun, taking in the view and sipping a beer (or whatever is your current poison - the bar is well stocked) is blissful. There are great walks along coastal paths, and...
