We stayed here on a bicycling tour. The old building at the front is nice enough from the outside, the inside is rather dark. The reception was manned by a lady commanding us in an almost military way to fill in the forms and commenting about the readability of our writing (which is quite decent, I dare say) Fair enough,... VERY traditional but all the more enjoyable for it. Wonderful inside and out. Functional room albeit a bit Spartan with a very narrow bed, quiet and lovely location in the village. Great food. Has welcomed all sorts of famous people - that's where Liz Taylor comes in, not forgetting Richard Burton! Only one drawback - don't get too comfy in... More

Stayed here for one night in July 2016. Hotel itself is a traditional old building with tons of history attached but maintained to a high standard with many original features retained. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, friendly staff and good food. If I am ever in Wallgau again I would definitely stay here.

We stopped at Hotel Post during our bike-trip through Bayern. It was nice, the staff friendly and the decoration cute. Our room was big and clean. The Internet connection was excellent. I would visit again ☺️ We ate at the restaurant as well. I had the Bratwurst with potatoes. It was the longest sausage I have eaten and tasted fantastic.

The hotel is really nice and the dinner was good, although the service was rather unorganised. If You book a room at this hotel make shure it´s not facing the church. The church clock strikes every 15:th minute. All night long.... I did not bring any earplugs and consequently I learned that it's 1 stroke a quarter past, 2 strokes... More

We stayed 2 nights. It's at the upper end of the 3 star range - very traditional. Great restaurant with friendly waiting staff. Only gripe is unfriendly welcome when we arrived and the extraordinary experience of being turned out of the hotel lounge (the patch of good wifi) at 10pm because they wanted to turn the lights out.

This was on part of our route cycling around Bavaria and although its a quiet little town the hotel was excellent with upper part of the room with the bed, nice balcony and comfortable. Had dinner in hotel and it was delicious and reasonable, breakfast ok similar to most continental hotels with only eggs being anything hot but all in... More

We did not book this direct but it was part of a sequence of hotels booked by Eurobike. Was concerned by the generally low rating in trip advisor but stay was very pleasant. I have to own up to a soft spot for ancient German family run hotels with photos of their glory day past guests in this case: Maria... More

This is a beautiful traditional hotel in a stunning landscape. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The hotel also has a ski room / bicycle storage area. The restaurant provides a wide variety of excellent food. The owners are warm and welcoming. They were attentive to our needs and encouraged us to hear the local band - the Musikkapelle Wallgau... If it is a very traditional Bavarian hotel you are seeking, the beautifully decorated (both inside and out) Hotel Post in Wallgau will take some beating. The bedrooms are very spacious, with the beds in a mezzanine above a sitting area. The food is very good, in a large restaurant with an alfresco option. The wines however were rather overpriced....
