Long overdue review from our travel back in June 2018!

My husband and I spent 5 nights here as part of our honeymoon trip around Sicily. We fell in love with the island of Salina and this perfect hotel which fits so naturally into the landscape. I couldn't stop taking pictures of the beautifully decorated space. Each space in the hotel had a story to tell and you could tell so much thought and care went into each detail.

The pool area was dreamy with a great menu of light, healthy and delicious drinks and snacks available throughout the day. We especially loved the swordfish meatballs! It never felt crowded and we were easily able to secure a daybed to lounge on. Shared dinners in the evening were an amazing value and everything prepared was incredibly delicious. We also loved chatting with the other travelers who had interesting tales to tell.

The hotel rooms are simple, yet chic and luxurious. The view from the balcony was gorgeous, relaxing and private. We also loved the bath products and toiletries used around the hotel and ended up purchasing a few things to relive the memories back home in Chicago.

Out of our two weeks of travel around Sicily, this was by far our favorite hotel and experience. The family that runs this hotel are beyond lovely, and are perfect hosts in all areas. My husband and I cannot wait to return to this destination when possible again and recommend any who are considering it to book this hotel for your time in Salina!

Since the first second we stepped into the Cozy Boutique Hotel the feeling of "serenity" we all look for during our days off was there, waiting for us. It was in the smiles of the friendly and professional staff and family members welcoming you, in the positive energy that the neat and carefully selected decorations and furniture create, in the simple but elegant dishes we have tried thought the day, from breakfast to dinner.
I would absolutely recommend il Principe di Salina to anyone looking for a premium experience without the formalities of a pretentious location.

We cannot say enough great things about this hotel. The warmth of the welcome is an indicator of the entire stay, and not just from the owner or reception team (who are all amazing) the whole team are help you enjoy every part of your stay in a rare authentic way. The facilities in the room, at the pool and throughout the entire property are clean, of a very high quality, and make the stay superbly comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble, be it a small food or drink request or booking an entire transfer itinerary, or trip, it is all done smoothly with every detail thoughtfully considered and communicated. The COVID work-arounds were very good too, the attention to hygiene and cleanliness made us feel very safe and the housekeeping team were all excellent, and crucially for us very much part of the team, that level of inclusivity hopefully demonstrates how this place is run. The food is in a league of it’s own. The breakfast was super, fresh ingredients, with a great variety on offer instead of a buffet. One of our favourite things were the daily family style suppers, these are simply sensational! The food is tasty, plentiful and again there is a good variety each day (all served in a socially distant way of course). The homemade bread and jams are the nicest we have ever had. We don’t usually revisit hotels but this will be an exception, we will definitely come back and we will be actively recommending to others. We traveled to three other hotels during our stay in Sicily, this was was the best by far and not the most expensive. If you are considering staying here - don’t hesitate.

This hotel is not a swanky five star glitz hotel crawling with celebrities, it is an utterly charming family run boutique hotel which offers the perfect location to enjoy Malfa, Salina and the Aeolian islands in general.
It is small, just 12 rooms I think, but beautiful things come in small packages and we enjoyed the most wonderful stay in early September. The setting is very tranquil with lovely views, the staff are faultless and delightful, and the food is to die for.
Sitting on the hill above Malfa the hotel is on the edge of town with views out to sea including the volcanic island of Stromboli. There rooms are tiered on different levels which feed down to super swimming pool with very comfortable sun beds and a quiet poolside bar.
Currently four family members make up the management / ownership team and they are all magnificent in their chosen roles, but a special mention should go to chef Silvana for her amazing daily menus. The food is fresh, generous and perfectly balanced; and always served with smile in very homely surroundings.
The journey to Salina is somewhat convoluted which is a good thing as hopefully it will remain unspoilt for years to come; but if you fancy a quiet break and you have time on your side there can't be a better place to stay than Hotel Principe di Salina.

Third stay with Anita and family - a truly wonderful spot. The service is fantastic - warm and always with a smile. Rooms are perfectly curated (as is the common space) with dreamy views. Filippo’s sourdough pizza by the pool was a highlight!

I need more stars to accurately express how much we loved our stay at the Principe di Salina. We spent 3 nights here in mid-May, and would have happily extended our stay if a room had been available. The understated elegance of the property relies on extraordinary views (some of the best of my life), and a spectacular attention to detail. The whitewashed walls highlight the blue sea below, and a courtyard featuring a beautiful pool area with comfy beds. The sheets in our room were soft and luxurious, and we were pleased to find straw hats and a basket to tote items in. We ate two meals at the outdoor family style table, and were thrilled with the light, delicious, extremely satisfying food. The bar serves a delicious lunch, and Anita even has a gorgeous little boutique with linen clothing and other items. The most charming aspect is the family who owns and runs the establishment: Anita’s father picked us up at the ferry, her mother cooked the meals, and Anita was readily available with laughter, and suggestions on how to spend a day. We even had the pleasure of chatting with her husband. We very much appreciated their excellent communication, and willingness to help us arrange transfers. This may be my favorite hotel ever, which is saying a lot. It was a dream, and I will be back.

We were lucky to get a room due to a last minute cancellation, and whilst it's expensive, it's worth every penny. The hotel is beautifully designed and furnished, and the view over the ocean is stunning. At dinner, we could see Stromboli erupting in the distance. The dinner was our favourite in Sicily - definitely stay in one night. The beds are big and comfy and the rooms are silent, with great black out shutters. Lovely cocktails for 5 euros at happy hour. You won't regret booking this stay!

We stayed 4 nights in May 2022 and the only thing that could have been better was a longer stay. The experience begins with being met at the dock by the charming Francesco who drives you along the winding road to paradise. On arrival, Anita greets you at the door and settles you on the deck while paperwork and baggage is attended to. The brief tour of the hotel shows glimpses of each intentional yet unassuming space that tells you something special is going on here. An eclectic mix of old, new, and bohemian decor creates a calming island vibe. Each and every member of the team is intent on making you feel welcome and comfortable. Meals are exceptional and expertly prepared by Silvana (dinner) and Filipo (breakfast and lunch). Poolside drinks and snacks while lounging on day beds or chairs make it hard to want to explore the island, but a day on escooters gives you a great picture of this special island. I can’t say enough about how special this hotel is. I want to return right now.

We had the most amazing stay at Principe di Salina. From the minute we arrived until the end, the hospitality was superb. We stayed for 4 nights and could have stayed another week. It was great to just chill at the gorgeous large rim flow pool and eat delicious light lunches and a few glasses of wine at the pool bar. The long table at night was just fantastic and the food outstanding. It is rare that you find a place like this where everything is pretty much perfect. If you are planning to visit the Aeolian Island, look no further .. this is the real deal. Clean, crisp contemporary style rooms, fantastic food, excellent hospitality and a lovely small little town, Malfa, within walking distance. Thank you Silvana for the exceptional food, Francesco for taking us to the port and the lovely chat in the car, Filippo for picking us up at the port and taking us to the wine tasting, Anita for always checking on us and for the great hospitality and of course Federica and all the other staff that were so amazing prior, during and after our stay. We will definitely be back x

Stayed here for two nights towards the end of September. It was a really lovely stay and the cherry on the cake was the “can do anything for you” attitude of the front desk staff, and of the family who own it especially Anita herself. Rooms are simple but stylish, the pool was just right (not too busy when we were there so no problem getting a lounger) and the food was delicious.
The cherry on the cake would be some kind of irregularly regular shuttle down to the beach, or as close as you can get, as it’s quite a schlepp from the hotel to it, and especially back up (back up hill that is) on a hot day. But that’s not a detraction, merely a suggestion that would make things perfect and maybe walking up and down to the beach is good for you to walk off at least a few cannoli and arancini kilos
.
