Was given 20 mins to finish drinks at end of night as one member of staff had taxis booked?? Even though it was 11pm thought it be open later...

Since new management took over the service has and the restuarant have gone down hill. We had to wait 5 to 10 minutes to get served with drinks and be told what table we would be sitting at. Food nowhere near as good since the new management took over and they clearly understaffed for the amount of customers they get...

I regularly Visit the Marquis Inn throughout the year with my family, just for a normal Sunday lunch with my elderly mother or many other types of celebrations like birthdays e.t.c. The staff are always warm and attentive and go out of their way to please. All the meals are served with fresh veg and there is a wide variety...

Large party 30th birthday Saturday evening meal, well looked after. Evening singer which was great entertainment for all, 3 children kept very happy by this and weren't asked to sit down etc which was great for a pub on a Saturday night. Steaks were however extremely rare which was disappointing, so would advice you ask for yours more cooked. However...

Was here as part of a large group all of whom had pre- chosen their meals. There was a difference of up to an hour of different tables being served. Food was also very bland, pate was pathetic with a transport cafe toast and sauce in a paper cup.

Stayed for one night and ate in the evening as well. Room was quite large, plenty of space, everything worked as it should do. Could do with a little more attention such as table lamps to provide a few lighting options, shelves in the bathroom. Evening food was OK, but menu was quite limited, basically fried food plus a little...

About 9 of us came here for my brother's birthday. We were promptly seated and given menus on arrival. We were served our starters in excellent time, a few of us choose the mushroom in wine sauce, which looked delicious. I had the prawn cocktail, which was just as appetising. The choice of mains were a little limited however we...

Pre arranged family meal. 20 people for Sunday lunch. Meat and potatoes served on the plate, vegetables came round separately. By the time the vegetables and gravy arrived the meat and potatoes were cold. Generous size portions. Adult meal reasonable price. £6.25 for a kids meal bit steep I thought. We arrived in 4 cars parked at the back of...

Lovely food, couldn't fault it and reasonably price. Just take a jumper if you're in the conservatory. We did ask for the heating on but it didn't happen otherwise I would have given full marks for the food.
