Hospitality - Phenomenal. All of the staff, from the very first driver who starts your stay to every staff member you meet along the way, are friendly and excel in the environment provided. I felt safe with every driver, all the guides were knowledgeable and if they didn't have the answer they would find out and get back to you. I never met the cleaning staff, but my room was always clean, my husband always hates when cleaning staff rearranges your stuff and that was never a problem here. They've created a great little community that makes you feel comfortable right away. Rooms - We had a suite, it looked out into a lot of the local flora and we enjoyed watching the birds in the morning while sipping tea/coffee. Bed and pillows we're so comfortable. The rooms were very toasty, especially with a fire in the evenings, and they provide extra blankets. The composting toilet is easy to use, showers have great water pressure and get plenty warm. Excursions - We did the wildlife safari so everyday we had a briefing of the options for the next days excursion after which we choose. They were always clear on the how difficult each option would be and circumstances for cancellations. During the excursions the guides were knowledgeable and friendly. You pack a lunch each day, and the guides usually bring bonus snacks and drinks.
If we ever have the opportunity to return to Patagonia it will 100% be with ecocamp and I will be recommending them to anyone who asks.

We loved our experience at EcoCamp. EcoCamp is really committed to sustainability in every way (electricity supplied by glacier rivers and solar panels, composting toilets, minimal impact), but it's still a very comfortable experience. We were in the standard domes (lowest level - no electricity, except for nightlights by the bed, and shared bathrooms) but it was perfect for our needs. Domes have radiators for heat at night. Food was incredible - at dinner, there were always three options for each of starter, main and dessert, and many options were vegetarian or vegan. Breakfast had many options for eggs, breads/pastries, fruits, grains, etc. They have a buffet of options for you to pack your lunch in a reusable container to take on the excursions, and I've never seen such a variety of really good options. In the evenings, there were appetizers and (free) specialty Chilean cocktails available, and free wine with dinner. Staff all spoke English and were very friendly and helpful.
We did the Epic Multisport Adventure, and highly recommend it. Most of the other excursions involve hiking or van trips / walks to see wildlife, but ours was super-varied, which made it more interesting, I think. We first rode horses through an excursion affiliated with Las Torres hotel nearby. The gauchos led us on a 1-2 hour ride, and near the end, gave us an opportunity to gallop. We really got out into the park and could see more from horseback than we would have any other way. Our second excursion was a hike to the base of Las Torres. It's supposed to be the hardest hike in the area and it lived up to that description (takes around 10 hours round trip). Some beautiful views along the way (including from a pass in the mountains and along a rushing river and through a forest, and finally up a moraine-strewn final slope) - our 20-year old daughters had little trouble, but it was harder for me being 55+ and not in great shape. Our third excursion was on mountain bikes around a lake and in another area of the park. Again, very beautiful, and EcoCamp sent two support vans (one for us, one for the bikes). The fourth day, we went on a kayak trip with a guide group EcoCamp contracts with. Totally different viewpoint again. We felt very safe and supported with 3 guides for 8 guests.
One guide (Cris) was assigned to our group the entire time and he was the best guide we've ever had in any context. He was unfailingly friendly, positive and informative - we trusted him completely and he seemed to know the answer to every question we asked (whether it be about flora, fauna, geology, geography, or history). He was supportive when one person in our party was struggling with the hike, and nicely balanced the needs / speeds / interests of all four of us. The guides eat most breakfasts and dinners with their group, and we loved picking his brain on everything relating to Patagonia and Chile.
Highly recommend the EcoCamp experience.

This was a 7 Day W Trek in Patagonia. My sister and I stayed in an Eco Camp Dome with a washroom/shower, two beds and a sitting area. The beds were very very comfortable. The food was outstanding and abundant. The staff was very friendly. We both booked massages at different times and the therapist was exceptional and professional. We wanted to go to the free yoga but time did not allow with our hiking schedule. I heard from others that it was a good experience though. It was interesting to read about the Dome Design withstanding winds of 250 kms/hour. The camp has a board walk system, uses water fed from the mountains to generate electricity, actively composts and has a green house on site.

EcoCamp is an amazing place and I am so glad we opted to stay there to experience Torres del Paine. The camp itself is a marvel with how sustainable its operation is. We stayed in a standard dome and loved it. It was super comfortable and cozy and laid out well. The shared bathrooms are designed really well and it never bothered us in the least to use shared facilities. The food is AMAZING. The guides are all very friendly and helpful. My only issue was with the communication - we were told start times for various activities (one was our shuttle pickup, one was for a guided hike) that were completely wrong. Our shuttle pickup arrived at our hotel so early (over an hour before we were told to be ready) that we weren't even awake, we were made to feel very rushed, and they made it out to other people being picked up that their late pickup was our fault. We did not appreciate that. Also for a guided hike my friend took, she was told the wrong meetup time and was again woken up and told that she was late. So just double check times when they are given to you. But that wouldn't stop me from staying here again - it really is a wonderful place.

Hi Carla, Thank you for your kind words and recommendation—we truly appreciate it! We looked into your comment about the communication, and yes, there was an instance where the guide gave you the wrong schedule. He did apologize directly to you for this, as he was unaware of some recent changes. This is not something that normally happens; in fact, it was the first time it occurred this season. We’re happy to hear it didn’t affect your overall experience. We apologize for the inconvenience of having to wake you up earlier than planned, which made you guys feel rushed. We are approving this matter, so thank you for bringing it up. All the best team EcoCamp Patagonia and Cascada Expediciones

The camp is located within the Torres del Paine national park and the accommodation is within eco-friendly domes. Washing facilities and toilets are located separately but, despite the use of solar powered heating, there was no shortage of hot water for showers. Food was plentiful and good quality. Despite all the walking, one could easily put on weight here! Helpful and knowledgeable guides included in the package. Nothing in Torres del Paine is cheap, but this was one of the less extravagant options available.

Ecocamp is a cool place to stay. My dome was quite comfortable and had everything I needed. I chose the Wildlife Safari option which includes lodging, food, a choice of three activities per day, transportation, and guides. I appreciated Ecocamp's committment to sustainability. The food was top knotch including options for gluten-free breads as well as vegan choices. There were three choices for starter, entree, and dessert at dinner and they were always interesting and delicious. Breakfast is a buffet with lots of choices, the eggs were often undercooked though. You prepare your lunch at breakfast to take with you on the hike. The Sarmiento Lake hike to see the thrombolites was fantastic as there were only three of us so we got to take our take our time and explore several places! I also liked the Lazo Webber hike even though the ending descent is tough. It was great to be in and out of the forest. The hikes were great but I wish there were more short and intermediate options. I wish the petroglyph hike was offered more than once a week. I would also have liked more hikes at the eastern end near Ecocamp to avoid the same drive each day to the western end. I wasn't interested in the horse riding option which was the short or easy activity one day so I did my own thing and hiked up into the forest for a ways on the O Circuit. You might want to check out other trails on All Trails before your trip in case you have already done the short or intermediate options for a particular day and want to wander around on your own. You will need to sign a waiver to do that.

Hi, katmai8 ; thank you so much for your feedback, and we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your Wildlife Safari program. Also, thank you for sharing your experience and advice; they will for sure be helpful for other travelers. Regarding more options on the East side, it is more limited with short and intermediate options as on this side; you have the Base of the Towers and the Los Cuernos Lookout, both full-day treks that are considered intermediate and difficult. Close to the property, we have the forest area, which is part of the O trek, as you mentioned, but besides that, there are not many options to do hike by yourself without including transportation town or do one of the longer hikes. We have the ranch visits as easy options, and if you don't like horseback riding, you can do a short hike instead in the area. There is only 1 main road inside the park, and another one that takes you to the very East area, Laguna Azul, so changing up the landscape while driving is limited. But it gives some great wildlife spotting opportunities as you never know what to see on the way to where the hike starts! Therefore, taking the Lazo-Weber option was a good choice, as you get to see another area outside the national park and another area inside the park, on the other side of Sarmiento. This area is great for wildlife spotting, and the views are amazing, but as you mentioned, the last downhill can be tough, though it is relatively short. All the best, Team EcoCamp and Cascada Expediciones.

My best friend and I traveled to Chile to celebrate my 35th birthday as Patagonia had been a longtime dream of mine. We spent 4 nights at Eco Camp and had the most incredible experience! The domes suite domes were cozy with the added luxury of a private bathroom. And the heat was much needed that time of year. Our first day we went on a leisurely fauna tour where we had an amazing encounter with a young male puma, as well as countless spottings of the various wildlife in the area! Day two, we did the m base trek and were lucky enough to get almost full visibility of the towers right before heading back. Rodrigo was our guide for both hikes, to our delight! He has such a vast knowledge and incredible spirit, we were grateful to get to spend so much time with him! Our third and final day was spent on the boat as we toured Gray Glacier and lake, a more relaxed excursion but not to be missed with its breathtaking views. All the staff at the eco camp were so pleasant and helpful. The food was fresh and delicious, with plenty of great GF free options. I very much enjoyed the daily yoga classes, and the massage was sublime, the perfect way to end my visit after long days of hiking.
As someone who is very passionate about sustainability, I really appreciated the level of detail in keeping this place truly eco-friendly. I also very much enjoyed the digital detox of being completely disconnected from the outside world for a few days.
For those that prefer the comforts and luxuries of a resort while still being fully immersed in nature and enjoying the more challenging day hikes in the park, then EcoCamp is the place for you! Highly highly recommend! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

My husband and I were part of the 5 day W-trek program. Everything about EcoCamp exceeded our expectations. Every single staff member was kind and friendly, our guides, Hans and Martin, were patient, accommodating, and knowledgeable, and the food was incredible. Their no WiFi policy really fosters a sense of community within your group, which we really enjoyed. Be aware that weather in Patagonia is notoriously unpredictable. We went in October, 2024 (spring), during a particularly windy and rainy week, and were at risk of having multiple hikes or boats get cancelled with no back up plan. It’s the reality of traveling in this part of the world, and part of the adventure!

This was the first time me and my husband visited Chile. We stayed for 4 days at the ecocamp. We are so glad that we chose to stay here during our trip. It is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been too. Staff is super friendly, welcoming and extremely polite. They are always willing to help you, give recommendations regarding best places to visit. Everything in the camp is so well maintained and I was very impressed with the sustainability and how they recycle everything and there is zero waste.
Food and drinks were amazing as well! I loved the idea of how they provide lunch box and different food options to make our own lunch as we go on for a full day outing. The Camp is close to base towers and our beautiful dome had the view of the towers. From waking up to the beautiful sunrise and windy mornings to beautiful sunsets, this place is nothing but a paradise in Torres Del Paine. We wish to return someday and recommend this place 100% to anyone planning a trip to Torres Del Paine.

EcoCamp organised every detail and helped us arrange a private guided short W Trek with efficiency - the organisation of our trip was excellent, including walking poles, night at Refugio, boat trips etc.. The camp and tents are amazing (we stayed in a superior dome) and the food plentiful. Note that most of the food is vegan / vegetarian! Wine is included with dinner but all other drinks are expensive. Our guide Jean was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and very helpful in seeing us complete our hike in incredibly strong winds 😳. Our driver didn’t seem to know where the Australis pier pick up in Punta Arenas actually was, but a call to the company sorted it. Highly recommend!

Hola,
Thanks for getting in touch! We always do our absolute best to arrange a fantastic trip for our guests. The Epic Patagonia itinerary does have fantastic views of the Towers, but we can also see if it is possible to arrange a Base Towers Trek if you would like. Please get in touch with the sales representative that helped plan your trip. If you don't have the email of a specific representative, please send an email to reservations@cascada.travel. They can help figure out the best solution for you. We can't wait to see you in Patagonia!
Saludos,
Jenny

It is a truly wonderful experience.
Hi Joan, great question. Yes, EcoCamp are very proud of their composting toilets but when you leave the camp to go trekking you actually head right out into the wilds of the National Park. This means that you have two options. The first is that you can wait until you reach one of the mountain huts which, as Tim M pointed out, do exist but may be spaced quite far apart, or you can do the second option, which is to go somewhere out of sight along the trail. If you do take this second option, we must reinforce that you bury what you leave and that you take with you any paper waste, so as to reduce your impact upon the Park's ecosystem. Everyone is in the same boat, and the guides are extremely patient and understanding of your needs. If you have any more questions, just drop us a line and we will be happy to go over everything in deeper detail!
