We hiked the W Trek with EcoCamp and were lucky enough to have Diego and Lisa as our guides, plus a great group of like minded hikers to share in the adventure. Firstly the ecocamp is great, comfortable cosy domes (we had a superior dome with ensuite - highly recommended), the food is high quality, fresh and healthy, all the staff are also friendly and helpful. The common areas have a warm and inviting vibe we just wish we had more time to hang out there. The Trek was exhilarating, with amazing scenery and challenging at times, especially when the Patagonian wind strikes! Our guides Diego and Lisa were the perfect team, Diego up front with a vast knowledge of Chile, geology and botany and many a good story and Lisa supporting our group from behind with her encouragement, kindness and patience - they really made our Trek special as did the lovely group we were in. We would highly recommend ecocamp. Our only negative was the first night in Refugio 1 we were allocated a tent instead of a dorm room and had to pay for an upgrade to the dorm. This was disappointing as we were told when booking that ecocamp had priority for dorms in the Refugio. This is something that ecocamp needs to address as the cost of the trek certainly warrants a guaranteed dorm. Other than that we could not fault our experience with ecocamp .

Eco Camp was recommended by one of my colleagues and and we had to plan our trip to Torres Del Paine according to the availability at Eco Camp. It was totally worth making some changes to our plan. My husband, I and our son planned our stay there for 4 days ( three nights at EcoCamp and one night at Pine Grande Refugio). This was the highlight of our 18 days trip to Chile and Argentina. We had such an unforgettable experience. We loved our stay in the suite dome. We did what is known as a " modified W trek"( We did the Cerro Paine trek instead of the Towers )because our travel dates didn't work out for staying another day. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The guides were exceptional. I want to especially thank Pablo and Marce. I feel we were so lucky to have them as our guides for the trek to Paine Grande and Lago Grey and Glacier Gray with overnight stay at the Refugio. Our son who had a recent shoulder dislocation ( after we had planned our trip) was so terrified of falling while walking on the rocks he was slowing down the group. I was thinking the guides would say that he can't continue. But Pablo said he would bring him and he did, to the Paine Grande view point ! And Marce stayed with him while climbing down. They were such fun to be with and share their knowledge about everything we saw. At one point Pablo even produced a small board to draw and explain !
Maca another guide we had was also very friendly and eager to offer help.
We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere at EcoCamp, the idea of no WiFi but mingling with our fellow travelers. We loved the dinner time relaxing and enjoying the food and wine and sharing our stories.
I also had the chance to attend a yoga class while there and I absolutely loved it.
i have already been recommending EcoCamp to others planning to go to Patagonia.

I really don't understand how anyone can give this place less than five stars. We did a 5 day package, and it was legitimately the best vacation I've ever had.

The grounds are beautiful with 360 degree views with almost no signs of civilization. There's no wifi so all you can do is sincerely become part of your surroundings.

More impressive than the stunning landscapes is the staff. Every single employee works to make sure you have the best experience possible. All of the guides were lovely, but we got to know Valentina and Javiera best. On each tour, they shared their vast knowledge about the local ecosystems. Valentina might be the sweetest human being I ever met, and Javiera's laughter is infectious.

The kitchen and wait keep you well fed and lubricated. The food is worthy of a 5 star hotel. The daily pisco sours and wine with dinner are a great reward after an arduous hike, or just a nice add on to a peaceful day of yoga and massage.

Five days really wasn't enough, and I'm very eager to go back and try the other 6 tours we missed out on. In the meantime, the staff's dedication to green living has inspired my husband and me to make some changes at home to become better global citizens.

If you love hiking, but want a little bit of glamping, this is the place for you. The accommodations are super close to the base of Torres Del Paine, and provide you with incredible views of the mountain and National Park. The food is incredible, as is the service that you receive. Our entire group of six stayed in the Standard Domes, (2 per dome) with shared bathrooms, and it was totally fine. The staff was incredibly helpful with coordinating transfers for us throughout the park and to our next hotel. All six of our group got massages, and several individuals used the yoga hut and said it was great. If you are going to Torres Del Paine, I highly recommend you stay here! Best bang for your buck!

Additionally, highly recommend requesting Rodrigo Flores as your guide for the Trek. We did a 5 day W-Trek, and he made the trip!!!

Ecocamp is a great base for exploring Torres del Paine. With 2 REI guides, a group of 10 of us kayaked, mountain biked and hiked this beautiful region of Chile. The standard domes had spacious beds with ample covers to keep us warm in these unheated units. Shared bathrooms/showers were close by as were the common domes. The buffet breakfast had lots of choices and the evening meals were delicious...like eating at a gourmet restaurant.

My husband and I were scheduled to visit in 2021, but were unable to enter the country at that time. We just returned from our trip, and it was worth the wait! We enjoyed everything about Ecocamp-the accommodations, the hiking and our amazing guides, the abundance of delicious gourmet food, and meeting other like-minded travelers. Our pickup was well-organized and our drivers stopped for wildlife spotting on the way to and from Torres del Paine. Can't recommend it enough!

On first glance, this place is awesome. Domes are super cool and modern, shower excellent. Most did not like the standard domes, but we found our Superior dome to be nice and well appointed, and the bed was comfortable. We did not care for the dinners, but that is a matter of preference only as the food was very fresh.

What killed it for us was that they had music blasting from morning until night. It is so beautiful there and I longed for quiet, but not here. Moreover, the stench from the bathroom was unbearable. Imagine sleeping in a port-o-John. Our clothes smelled for days.

Staff was terrific and accommodating across the board, and they keep the camp exceptionally clean. The camp also was very organized as to briefings/outings/mealtimes.

Just wished we could have listen to the birds.

Hola, Thanks for your review. We are delighted to know you enjoyed our domes. While Standard Domes are indeed designed for travelers looking for a comfortable simplicity to truly connect with the unique wilderness of the area, those looking for more space and comfort can stay in our Superior or Suite Domes. Regarding the music, the mood both around EcoCamp and inside our Community Domes matters a lot to us and we passed on your comments to the appropriate team members. We have been working for years with playlists we designed for our guests to relax and connect with the quietness of the place and are sorry this atmosphere may not have been respected on the day(s) you were there. We actually want the same than you do : a place to "listen to the birds" while making new friends and contemplating the majesty of the landscape. We hope you can come back at EcoCamp to truly experience that. As for the bathroom, we have a system (powered with solar panels) to avoid any possible bad smell. We have been working with composting toilets since the very time EcoCamp was created and are strict when it comes to cleanliness and smell in the hotel. Our maintenance and housekeeping teams take care of that aspect on a daily basis and the issue you experienced would have been quickly solved if reported to our front desk team. We hope to have you again in Patagonia! Best, Timothy

We booked the W Trek through the Ecocamp as we have always wanted to visit this part of the world for some considerable time. Torres del Paine speaks for itself, however we were pleasantly surprised at the quaility of the facilities at the Camp. The geodesic domes which are quite spacious and strong to stand up to the wind were comfortable and warm. The website gives the impression of a quality operation and in reality does not disappoint. The food in the evening was excellent (especially given the fact that they are catering for larger numbers) and the wine was always flowing. Breakfasts were really good, with a decent selection of salads to make up your lunch for the days walk.

The only slight criticism is that because we were doing the W Trek, we spent two nights in tents at refugios whereby the quality of accomodation and catering was significantly lower.

Hola, Thanks for your comments. While Torres del Paine indeed speaks for itself, the quality level of the experience at EcoCamp could not be reached without the passionate people who work here. As for the domes, we want them to be a place where travelers can experience a deep connection with both people and nature. Unfortunately, there are not many options in the park for hikers to stay overnight while having the quality service they expect, but we always make sure to share travelers' feedback to refuges and refugios so that such service can be improved. We hope to welcome you again in Patagonia! Best, The Cascada Expediciones and EcoCamp Patagonia team

Loved this place from the moment we got there! Highly recommend! We stayed in one of the larger domes (2 of us). So cozy and lovely! Great bathrooms (surprising given the composting toilets etc) - good water pressure/hot water. Loved having the wood stove in the room to keep us toasty at night! And the FOOD - absolutely amazing! Breakfast, lunch and dinner - I was so happily surprised by the variety and tastiness of the food! After hiking all day, this is a fabulous place to come "home" to. Wonderful staff too! Highly recommend for a fun/unique experience!

We booked our entire 18 night holiday in Patagonia around our stay at Ecocamp, which was the absolute must-do on our list.
Cascada arranged the entire trip for us, including the time we spent in Santiago, Punta Arenas, Ecocamp, El Calatafe and Buenos Aires, and Cascada sorted out the excursions we did in each destination. Everything ran like clockwork. From airport pickups, transport between hotels, pre arranged lunches, we couldn’t fault anything.
Ecocamp more than lived up to our expectations. From the welcome and initial check-in at Puerto Natales (including a fabulous lunch), to our reluctant departure from Ecocamp after 5 nights, we enjoyed every moment.
Our suite dome was warm, cosy and well equipped. Meals were excellent, particularly the evening meals which were very welcome after long days out trekking. We saw all kinds of wildlife, including a very close encounter with a puma and also a Magellan fox, which literally trotted past our legs without a care in the world. From condors to eagles to wild horses and flamingos, the only thing missing from our wishlist of wildlife to see was an armadillo!
Our guide every day except one was Roberto. He is a livewire, very knowledgeable and extremely enthusiastic and entertaining. He was very patient and helpful when my partner (who had been unwell the previous day) was struggling on the Tower Base walk. He also has a huge knowledge of the flora and fauna, and obviously loves his work.
The other walks we did were all brillliant, including the French Valley and Lazo Weber hike. We spent another day spotting wild horses which was a great experience. The scenery, the staff, the drivers and the whole Ecocamp experience was truly spectacular. (Including the weather - lucky us!)

This was meant to be a holiday of a lifetime... and it definitely was... the only problem is that now that we are home, we really want to go back again!
Thank you, to all at Ecocamp and Cascada. You made our holiday everything we had wished for, and much much more!

Hola, Thanks for getting in touch! We always do our absolute best to arrange a fantastic trip for our guests. The Epic Patagonia itinerary does have fantastic views of the Towers, but we can also see if it is possible to arrange a Base Towers Trek if you would like. Please get in touch with the sales representative that helped plan your trip. If you don't have the email of a specific representative, please send an email to reservations@cascada.travel. They can help figure out the best solution for you. We can't wait to see you in Patagonia! Saludos, Jenny

Hi Joan, great question. Yes, EcoCamp are very proud of their composting toilets but when you leave the camp to go trekking you actually head right out into the wilds of the National Park. This means that you have two options. The first is that you can wait until you reach one of the mountain huts which, as Tim M pointed out, do exist but may be spaced quite far apart, or you can do the second option, which is to go somewhere out of sight along the trail. If you do take this second option, we must reinforce that you bury what you leave and that you take with you any paper waste, so as to reduce your impact upon the Park's ecosystem. Everyone is in the same boat, and the guides are extremely patient and understanding of your needs. If you have any more questions, just drop us a line and we will be happy to go over everything in deeper detail!
