The worst place in our entire 4 weeks journey! the food was just awful, service really bad and prices extremely expensive! Such a bad experience! best to take your own food and eat in the room!!! I really do not recommend!

Stayed overnight just before Christmas 2014 after backpacking from Refugio Grey. Very windy location with grass blowing sideways and tent area out back exposed to the cold winds. Ensure your tent is tied down well or it will be blown apart. Very busy place. Breakfast lineup took 2 hours so line up before 7am and food mediocre at best. No...

Dear Traveler, thanks for sharing your experience about Torres del Paine. We will take your advice and tell our guests about how to be more prepared when visiting the park. Although december is high season and since its a mountain lodge is very difficult to meet all requirements of our visitors, we are trying to improve our service all the...

Stayed at the Refugio Paine Grande for two nights in April. I would try to plan the trek in a way where you avoid it, if starting from West to East, don't stay here: Pros: Nice bar/lounge area Cons: Expensive Very RUDE staff. Staff across the property was un-accommodating to questions and extremely rude. Others we had met in the...

Having trekked the circuit, we stayed in all of them. The refugios are located at Dickson (the only refugio on the North sector of the circuit), Grey, Lodge Paine Grande, Cuernos, Chileno and Torres. Dickson, Grey and Paine Grande are all owned by Vertice Patagonia. the refugios have dorm style rooms with 6-8 bunkbeds in each which are pretty basic...

When you arrive at this refugio after a long day of hiking, you can't deny that the location by the bright blue Pehoé lake is fantastic. But as much as I loved the setting, I disliked the refugio. This big shelter mainly lacks the cosiness and friendly atmosphere we had encountered at the other refugios. There was a long waiting...

I booked the 'W' circuit through Fantastico Sur and the final of 3 nights was at Paine Grande, the front desk employee was lovely but he was most definitely the exception. The rest of the staff were very indignant, it seemed our mere presence was an annoyance and when at the buffet style dinner and breakfast service EVERYTHING kept running...

I have never stayed in a place so bad, disappointing and awful. Arrogant manager who undermine every single people who is camping. In a place that is cold, rains, has strong winds and has a fire ban policy is unacceptable not to provide a place to dry your stuff and warm up. Even less to tell you that it is...

Horrible service, the staff was very mean and the place was really overcrowded with only one hot shower workin for the whole place, plus worse food in the whole w circuit. At 3h walking distance there is refugio grey which is much nicier, cozy and surprisingly cheaper.

For a mountain "refugio" in the national park, it's better to the alternative of camping, especially at this location since the campground next door is exposed to the elements. The rooms fit 6 people in bunk beds, with the only other amenity provided being a light and non-lockable bins to throw your stuff in. In the room we were in,...

This was our third night on the W Hike and by far the least cozy, as well as the worst night's sleep we got - due to the staff of the refugio having a party underneath our room until 2am! It tends to draw a lot of day-trippers due to the regular catamaran, which is fine, but contrasted pretty sharply...
