Lovely old colonial building, however they have added some extra glass doors to the balcony for noise insulation which meant I had 2 uninterrupted nights sleep due to the quietness of the place. Not that it's in a noisy part of town anyway. The room (43) was clean and spacious and the bed comfortable. The room had a kettle, safe, fridge, a/c and a ceiling fan. My only complaint was that the shower was only luke warm. The internet has several different WiFi signals which seem to vary in strength during my stay but I usually found one which worked and was able to make phone calls home. Food is a bit limited and for Laos is expensive, however opposite is the Parisuen cafe which had a more extensive menu and is cheaper. The staff were friendly and helpful and nearby there are a few small food shops and o couple of ATMs. All in all I would stay here again

You feel like going back to the past in this charming place. A warm welcome by Mrs Sisouk who owns the place. We wanted to have dinner, but did not know we had to book it, as the place is more a guesthouse than a traditional hotel. However Mrs Sisouk accepted to have a meal prepared for us and even offered us a glass of aperitive, which we greatly appreciated!

Old hotel in a central location. Large room, terrible shower, malfunctioning a/c After checking in you need to take the elevator. The elevator has grilled doors on both sides, and only one person with their luggage can fit at a time. I did not know how to operate this elevator, or wanted to use such an old elevator, so reluctantly chose to use the stairs. Room is large and dated. Hard uncomfortable mattress. Shower is tiny and badly designed. The shower head was placed too high so that when you turn on the water the shower head spreads water all over the bathroom and not on the person taking the shower. I had to use my towels to dry the puddles of water on the floor. The worse part was the air conditioning. The air conditioning was working but not cooling the room. I woke up in the middle of the night sweating and could not go back to sleep. Breakfast staff does not speak English. They served me an egg, baguette, jam, water, cut up banana and papaya, juice, and coffee, no espresso drinks. I don’t know if there are better options in Pakse, but I would not want to stay here again.

Had an amazing stay! The staff were super attentive and absolutely love their elevator - definitely a unique experience and a pleasant surprise I did not expect. There were also some free bananas at the lobby during our stay, and it was very welcoming.

The Residence is a lovely hotel. It's owner, a charming and lovely lady who speaks fluent English, who also cooks the most delicious Laotian food is on hand together with her lovely staff to give guests va most enjoyable experience. Our room was large, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom well equipped. The hotel laundry was excellent. Pakse is interesting. Do not expect 5* luxury but the warmth of the service and the kindness of the Laotian people is double that. If we ever return to Pakse, we would stay again.

Colonial feeling in the heart of Pakxe. A nice old building decorated with a lot of old furniture, wooden floors and a lot of athmosphere. Maybe the slowest old fashioned lift in the world ;-) Rooms are very homey and nice, balconies with river view. Quiet at night, I did sleep very well. Helpful and friendly staff. A lot of restaurants, shops, market in walking distance. Easy to discover the city of Pakxe by walk.

For your next trip to Pakse, Residence Sisouk is such a great place! Beautiful old building, nice and welcoming staff, rooms are having an excellent standard and the best is the breakfast in this wonderful space on the 5th floor! Home made cakes, fresh and crispy bread, home made strawberry jam from local farmers, eggs, bacon, fresh orange juice, very good coffee! Perfect to face the day! I definitely recommend this place and I hope to come back soon again!

This is a four storey colonial building with an antique lift that can only fit one person & a suitcase at a time for the very slow ride to the required floor. But it’s part of the old world appeal of this hotel. The rooms are massive in size with a big four poster double bed, a lounge, TV with a good selection of channels, airconditioning, wifi & a balcony overlooking the river & the town. The bathroom is also a good size with a walk in shower. Breakfast is included served on the fifth floor with great views. Breakfast is not a buffet but individually served & includes hot & cold western dishes. The town of Pakse is nothing to get excited about. It was my first night before going on a Mekong River cruise. It’s certainly a comfortable place to stay.

Stayed for 1 night. Nice location overlooking the Mekong and close to shopping centre. Rooms were comfortable and good hot water pressure (a bit hard to find in Laos) The Lift is amazing, can only fit two people with bags and is the old open style with the pull across grille doors. Breakfast was average and a few mosquitoes present in the room were the only drawbacks. Overall a character style hotel and we would definetly stay here again

This place has an older feel to it that just eludes quaint. Appreciate the wooded interior, but not so much the creepy elevator (lift) and flimsy shower. A temporary stay over place for river cruise tourists. Breakfast ok and happy is pretty inexpensive (2 for 1)
