We loved this room-it was so romantic and lovely. In addition to the fireplace, there is a huge woodpile with all the wood you want! We camp out a lot so that was an added treat as the evenings would cool off just a little. It was like a room in Taos or Santa Fe NM with high ceilings and...

A very nice hotel, rustic yet modern room and on-suite. Fireplace in the room was a great touch and somewhat necessary at almost 8,000ft in elevation. Fronting onto the square is a key benefit. Weekends are more interesting and weekdays it was very quiet! Motorcycle friendly - we parked in the lobby for secure overnight parking.

Casa de Maty is a beautiful hacienda style hotel right on the town square. Wonderful and attentive staff who were very helpful . ..... even though they only speak Spanish they understand some English as we communicated easily even with our poor Spanish:) Felt like a very authentic experience as the room seemed to maintain its original style while upgrading...

Mi girlfriend and I went to Tapalpa to gather info about places for our future wedding. We choose this hotel because is right on downtown. Its location was more than perfect to go everywhere. The hotel facilities are beautiful. Typical Mexican small town resort. Clean! Full of flowers, old wooden furniture, a fire place on each room, I mean, classic,...

Let me get my gripe out of the way. When I asked if the WiFi worked and worked to the rooms, I was assured yes it did. When I pointed out that it didn't work in my room, I was told "Yes it does." That's what knocked the rating from Very Good to Average. As the saying goes, please don't...

I have stayed at this hotel several times now. It certainly is a great location right across the main plaza and church. Everything is a short walk away. The hotel has several types of rooms, but the nice doubles with king beds are on the ground floor. It is a bit cave like, but there is a nice rear window...

I had read about the hotel so when we arrived I thought it was worth a try. My husband thought I was a genius to know about such a place but I was less thrilled. The room was fine but it was on the ground floor and I had a feeling of a cave like setting. The fireplace in the...

Very comfortable, beautiful patio, cozy rooms, with fireplace, very comfortable beds, nice pieces of art, one of the best in town, great location right in front of the main plaza.

Casa de Maty was a lovley, charming and completely unique hotel. Although in a historic tiled roofed adobe building, the immaculate rooms were deluxe with down comforters, fireplaces and glass tiled bathrooms. Shuttered wooden windows open on to a view that is reminiscent of Tuscany. The staff was everything you could wish for in gracious hospitality. Moreover, the design and...
