Villa Park Sun Island Resort is a favorite for its serene and picturesque location, offering stunning views and clean beaches. Guests have lauded the resort's luxurious amenities, noting the diverse activities and attentive service that enhance their stay. While the cleanliness and space of the rooms receive high marks, a few guests suggest they could benefit from modern updates.
The vibrant atmosphere, complete with live music and themed nights, is a hit, although it may be a bit lively for those seeking tranquility. However, some travelers caution about the hidden charges that may affect the overall value of their stay.

I would like to share the unforgettable impressions that the Villa Park Sun Island Resort gave us. Getting to the hotel is a bit of a journey: a flight on an internal route followed by a boat ride, but already during the boat trip, you start to understand that every minute spent was an investment in enjoyment. The view of the island from the boat looks like it came straight from the pages of Pinterest.
Upon arrival, you are greeted by the friendliest staff in a warm atmosphere with refreshing drinks while discussing accommodations. We were lucky to have a wonderful manager named Nizam, and we got the best type of villa: the Sunset Water Villa. With direct access to the ocean from our home and stunning views of the island and sunset.
The greatest pleasure of staying on the island will be for those who come to the Maldives for sand, palm trees, and the breathtaking ocean; this paradise is abundant on the island. The island is quite large—1.6 square kilometers—so seven days were only enough to swim at each beach a bit. There are spots on the island where you can feed rays and sharks, so encountering tropical sea inhabitants is guaranteed for everyone. The food is wonderful, not gourmet, but impossible not to enjoy for its taste and variety. The staff on the island is endlessly smiling and kind, and the cleanliness of the room could make any hotel located inland, away from the sands, envious. The beaches at the hotel cater to all tastes, whether you love snorkeling, deep sandy beaches, or coral beaches.
We highly recommend this island to enjoy the diversity and beauty of the Maldives' nature and to receive quality service at a reasonable price. This is an island you will want to return to!

We are delighted to hear that your experience with us was nothing short of unforgettable! The journey to our resort, while an adventure of its own, is indeed part of the Maldives’ charm, and we’re so pleased to know that the breathtaking views of the island made it all worthwhile. We’re thrilled that your stay in the Sunset Water Villa exceeded expectations, offering stunning sunsets and direct access to the ocean—truly a magical experience. It’s wonderful to know that you appreciated the diversity of our beaches and the unique opportunities to interact with marine life, like rays and sharks, which are highlights for many of our guests. We just ended our vacation in the Maldives and what an experience. We booked through an agency and from the time we got off the plane in Male to our room (same on the return) it was seamless. We were greeted by the resort rep at the hotel and finally taken over by resort rep, ours was Khushbu, who was there with any questions or concerns we might have. This made the experience getting there and returning stress free.
We booked two rooms, one water bungalow and one sea view deluxe. After two nights we upgraded for a water bungalow because the deluxe sea view was not really a sea view and it needed upgrading. It was ok, but the room needs what I can some love. In fact, so did the water bungalow albeit the setting was beautiful.
The resort is wonderful. It has what I would see an almost rainforest feel ( the deluxe rooms are here) so as you walk through here it is very humid but so scenic. Everyday you see employees maintaining it cleaning fallen leaves and raking the coral on the beach. The employees always great as you walk past and they are friendly.
We opted to purchase the all inclusive package and it is so worth it. Not only do you have access to a lot of the restaurants, there are also perks such as snorkeling equipment during your entire stay for free as well as steam bath and jacuzzi. If you are staying at the water bungalow you eat at a different restaurant versus staying in the other rooms. The difference in service is evident.
We befriended many of the employees at the Southern Star restaurant who out of their way to make our experience great. Shout out to Racheal, Smita, Issayiss, Kadesh, and so many more. They went above and beyond.
Overall, our stay was wonderful. The beach is clean. The views amazing. The only bad thing is that the rooms need an upgrade but I think that is coming since some of the deluxe rooms are being renovated.

One of the best hotels in the Maldives in terms of price-quality ratio. We were met by a very attentive and responsible manager of Nizam, communication with whom was a pleasure right away, since it is clear that the person loves his hotel and his work. Nizam was inquiring daily via WhatsApp about the conditions of our stay, asking if everything was okay, if there were any wishes or problems, in a word, my wife and I felt cared for and involved. Fortunately, we did not experience any problems or complaints in 10 days. There was really nothing to complain about. Large spacious villas, newly renovated, located just 30 -50 meters from the sea. All the standard options that a 5-star hotel should offer are here, namely cosmetics, two types of slippers, two showers, including one outdoors, wi-fi, TV, bathrobes, personal loungers with soft mattresses (which is important), daily cleaning room twice a day, I would especially like to mention Muhamed, the cheerful young employee in charge of cleaning our room, who managed to restore perfect cleanliness in that short moment when we were having breakfast or dinner and we were not in the room. Well done! I would also like to say a few words about nutrition. My wife and I chose the all-inclusive without alcohol option. An excellent restaurant with a wide variety of dishes, all the products are fresh, there are several salads to choose from, several types of pastas, 2-3 types of fish, the same amount of meat and chicken. Good desserts and fruits. Moreover, everything is arranged in such a way that there are no queues, and there is no situation where someone is missing something. There are coffee machines everywhere with excellent coffee of several types, and tea, albeit in packages. Everything is tasty and high quality. There are no delights in the form of sushi, sea urchins and other delicacies here, but the price of accommodation is significantly lower than in luxury hotels. My wife and I paid 400,000 rubles with a flight for two for 10 days in May 2024, which is very inexpensive and the hotel is really worth the money against the background of the prohibitive rise in prices for travel and vacations recently. You may ask, are there any disadvantages? Eat. On some beaches, but not all, you can step on coral when entering the sea, and it is better to have special slippers to avoid damaging your feet. At the same time, the other beaches of the hotel are ideal. And finally - Will I come back to Villa Park again? Definitely yes, damn it)) Cool hotel and great team of staff!

We were at the hotel at the end of July 2023, this is not our first trip to the Maldives. At first I was impressed by the island’s size; it’s really huge for the Maldives. You can’t get from the outer houses to the restaurant on foot in the heat, you can order buggies, but it doesn’t always arrive, or rather, 50/50 or rent a bike. The area is very well-groomed and VERY green (the resort is not new). The staff is either VERY friendly or not at all. The service (cleaning) of the room is very good, but the replenishment of the minibar in the room is very strange, all inclusive includes a number of items that we have not seen..... When you find yourself in a restaurant, you understand that you are in “Turkey”, people are teeming with it, which is not very typical for the Maldives. This, in my opinion, is a huge "-" of the hotel. Regarding food, no frills, ordinary “Turkish” food. We lived in Laguna Beach Villa (by the way, the houses are completely new, exactly the same as those with a pool, the only difference between them is the absence of a second air conditioner in the toilet.) The entrance to the sea at these villas is normal, although it is advisable to have corrals. There are NO living creatures in the water near these houses!!!! The advertised reef, near the Italian restaurant, in my opinion, no good!!!! We were there 2 times and both times the water was quite cloudy. Yes, by the way, near the houses, near the shore, the water is also not clear. In the evening, Manta swims to the Italian restaurant. A very majestic creature!!! Regarding bars, in our opinion, the most delicious drinks are in the Golf Bar. Prices for drinks, if you are not all inclusive, are very steep (a glass of wine is $17-20). By the way, it is very important to note that UnionPay cards from Gazprombank in the Maldives work both on the island and at the airport. Wifi is normal, you can’t watch a video, but it’s enough for communication, which is convenient, in public places there is only one network name, and near the houses there is a house number, which allows you to access the Internet from anywhere. Separately, you need to pay attention to the transfer to Male airport. We were not very lucky; on the way to the island we waited for the plane for 3-3.5 hours. But the return trip is absolutely terrible, we left the houses at 2 am, although the plane from Male is at 10 o’clock, that is, 8 o’clock!!!! hours before departure, although the net travel time to Male is 50 minutes!!!! (plane + transfer to the boat + boat).

Nothing to say, the Maldives is a fascinating destination and just the presence of this wonderful sea would be worth the price of the trip. This Resort, on the other hand, does not value the earthly paradise of these beautiful atolls. I understand that the common strategy adopted in this structure is the same for many: they make you try (and relish) two nights in a Water Villa (the classic stilt house on the sea) and then you go to the accommodation of your choice previously and make an unfair comparison. In this way the customer is led to want to return to the previous accommodation paying a nice extra surplus. The "basic" houses are at the edge of the dilapidated: old furniture, bad smell, uncomfortable location for the restaurant or lobby (even 15/20 minutes walk to reach the destination, do it at least 3 times a day round trip, you do the math). It is true that there are golf carts available that transport guests from one side of the island to another but the frequency of passage is highly poor. Ancillary activities almost all for a fee and at decidedly exaggerated prices, considering that the mere presence costs top dollar. Some janitors are trying to sell you dinners on the beach, experiences and whatnot; it's okay to ask once, but every time I sat at the restaurant I was asked the same proposal, the thing on the 3rd/4th day of stay had even become comical. Hygiene of the room and common parts revisable. The restaurant pleased me, you eat mostly local and Indian cuisine which I found a positive. The wi-fi, included, had a great signal both in the room and in the common areas. Overall, I would gladly return to the Maldives but not to this property which, at my debut in these places, did not leave me a good memory.

This was our second time visiting the Maldives, and unfortunately, it didn’t meet our expectations. We encountered several issues during our stay that were quite concerning:
1. Room Booking Issues: We had initially booked a specific room, only to be informed upon arrival that the room was under construction. It’s quite puzzling and frustrating that a room in such a state was available for booking in the first place. 2. Food Quality: The food offered was below our expectations, especially considering the international clientele. The variety and quality didn’t cater well to a global audience, which was disappointing. 3. Housekeeping Standards: The cleanliness of the rooms left much to be desired. We often had to request the staff to clean certain areas or provide basic amenities. This level of service is not what we expected based on our previous experiences.
Overall, this stay did not reflect the high standards we had enjoyed during our first visit. If you’re planning to stay at this location, I’d recommend confirming room conditions in advance and being prepared to address any issues with the staff. Hopefully, management takes note of these concerns to improve the experience for future guests.
This version provides a clear and organized summary of your experience while still conveying your disappointment.

The impressions were very positive, we didn’t look for any negatives, we enjoyed the ocean and nature. Firstly, we got a room upgrade, a sunset beach villa room with partial renovation, a very pleasant room 443, an ideal location on the entire island, a large lagoon, a little waist-deep for adults, ideal for swimming for children, good entrance, fine sand, clean glass all the time, there are no waves. The ocean is 30 seconds at a slow pace, you can lie in the shade, there is a personal sofa near the room, there is some privacy, but not complete. We went and looked at the rooms of the beach villa, the rooms and the territory were sad. Our case is completely different. The service is good, the food is excellent, varied, there is Indian and Chinese cuisine, desserts, all sweet and ripe fruits, seafood every day, fish, shrimp, octopus, squid, mussels. There are beef steaks, a lot of greens, soups. The hotel has undergone a partial rebranding, it’s very interesting, the hotel adheres to the eco-friendly concept, multiple disposable water bottles in glass, no plastic, disposable accessories in the bathroom made of wood, I really like it all. The hotel is not boring. Every day there is some kind of program for children, feeding of stingrays and sharks, crab races, face painting and various hand-made items. The children's club is a separate issue, I have never seen such a club before, it is beyond praise, in the children's club I want to mention and say thank you to Ruwani, Saushan, Aitana, they are very attentive and kind. We hope to come back here again

Fabulous place, on arrival you are speechless, very kind and helpful staff. The guy who served us at the restaurant throughout the stay, great person, the last night we did find the table decorated as I uploaded in the photos. Our total expense was 2000€ each (flight Emirates + water villa with all inclusive 8 nights and 9 days) without agency. With the water villa, they would redo the room 2 times a day and once they would come to restock the minibar. The property provides you with beach towels every day, bathrobes, towels, slippers (both flip-flops and not), razor blades, toothpaste with toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, bathroom shower, hair comb, beach bag and umbrellas. For those without it with the all inclusive you can rent for free mask, fins and snorkel. From the water villa you can swim through a ladder, wonderful emotion. The crystal clear sea and at any time many fish and reef sharks. Every day at about 6pm they feed the parsnips (rays) by the sea, in the southern star restaurant area. While at about 18.30 they feed the sharks at the end of the water villa jetty, where there is the Thai restaurant. Really beautiful. There is only one point, for snorkeling with high water, and it is at the pier of the Italian restaurant, the reef is very beautiful and many types of colorful fish. We also had the all inclusive, of course everything free except the a la carte restaurants (a dinner for those who have the all inclusive is free). For those who stay at least 5 or 6 nights there is also free fishing at sunset, where we had a lot of fun and at the end of the catch the resort cooks you the fish caught, really very good. The restaurant for the water villa is the southern star restourant where we ate very well and the staff is of incredible kindness. C is the vegan department, local food, endless fruit, grilled fish and meat and 2 types of pasta per day. The only thing we did not like so much was the excursion to see manta rays-turtles-whale shark. Of 6 hours of hiking we bathed for only 45 minutes. The manta rays as they had not been sighted we skipped the swim to head for snorkeling with the turtles (I honestly would have opted to do some snorkeling even without the manta rays). The cost of excursions is very very high. For this excursion we paid 135€ per person. If one wants to do water sports like jet skiing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, flyboarding etc etc are really expensive.

We have just returned home from our fourth visit to Villa Park Sun Island where we once again had the most fantastic time. We stayed in one of the Lagoon Beach Villas, which are beautifully appointed and well positioned on this fabulous island. We stayed for two weeks on an all-inclusive basis which, if you like a drink or two, is a must as drinks are otherwise very expensive.
The food in the buffet restaurant was once again very varied and it was never difficult to find something that suited your taste, even after two weeks. The staff in the restaurant are very friendly and helpful and a special shout out to Ananth and Manik who looked after us very well and also to the two chefs on the egg station, who cooked us the most tasty omelettes every morning with a smile and politeness.
The resort has a lovely large pool, which is positioned right next to the beautiful main beach area where we spent most of our days. The beach/pool team of Mamun, Dulal and Sateesh have all worked at the resort now for many years and it shows in terms of their professionalism and skill in keeping all guests cared for. They work so hard to make sure that everyone secures a sun bed with some shade, even at times of very high demand - not an easy task but always carried out with a smile. Also on the beach, another special shout out to both Sonu and Tara, who kept us plied with all kinds of drinks during the day and also in the evening - again, always service with a smile.
Other personal highlights for us are the snorkelling off the reef, the coffee shop for late afternoon snacks and drinks (another great team of people work here, including our old friend Ubaidulla) and the Beach Bar near the watersports area for early evening drinks, where we were very well looked after by Tharun and team. We also really enjoy hiring bicycles for our stay, as it makes travelling around this larger island much easier than having to rely on the buggy service which other people prefer to do. Thanks again to Gafur and team for ensuring that our bikes were in good and safe order for the two weeks.
A final mention has to go to a young man in his first year working on the island - Wajit. He cleaned our room very thoroughly throughout our stay and made sure that the mini bar was always replenished. The highlight was his sand artwork on the front door step and floral displays on the bed - I will try to capture these in attached photos, as we thought they were excellent and added a nice touch.
Well done again to all of the staff at Sun Island for making our visit very memorable once again and we will definitely be returning for a fifth visit in the not too distant future. Many thanks, Ian and Fran

Beautiful resort! We stayed in a water villa with a spectacular ocean view, renovated rooms and no mosquitoes here in these villas. The staff is amazing, they can’t do enough for you. Nizam and Biju and their teams, the chef and his team, they all made our daughters 9th birthday extra special with a delicious complimentary birthday cake just as she wanted, vanilla and strawberry and champagne for us. They arranged a private birthday dinner on the beach and a beautiful sign in our room to say Happy Birthday! A 5 star resort at a good price and the food is amazing with fresh grilled fish and tender beefsteak, local cuisine dishes and lots of salads and exotic fruits. And the deserts…wow 😋Try their fruit and nut icecream ☺️ And the SPA!!! Amazing experience with my daughter, full relaxing body massage ❤️ Treat yourself and you’ll feel like a new person! The therapists are amazing!!!❤️
