Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Travelodge Norwich Cringleford receives a mix of feedback, with many guests finding the rooms clean and appreciating the quiet location near major roads. The staff's friendly and helpful service often stands out in reviews, enhancing guest experiences.
However, opinions on value diverge as some travelers point out additional charges and limited amenities, such as paid Wi-Fi. While the hotel is praised for its overall cleanliness, there are occasional remarks about outdated decor and areas that could be cleaner.

Detailed Reviews
Was a lovely experience from checking in to checking out. On arrival we were updated about the local procedures due to the current Covid Pandemic. It was explained that for a 3 night stay the room would not be cleaned which can be understood in the current situation. It was stated tea and coffee topping ups was available from the reception as was a change of towels when required and bags for rubbish with the full bin bag and towels to be left out side of the door.
Travelodge well situated right on the junction of A11 / A47 good access for Norwich, Norfolk Broads and the Norfolk Coast.
Plenty of Places within a 2 minute walk for Take away breakfast and snacks. Just over the road is a drive through McDonald's, next door is a take away that has Gregs,Burger King and Subway in and in the petrol station on site Costa Coffee snacks and papers can be bought.
We found a lovely pub on the A11 going into Norwich on the left hand side a few hundred yards after crossing the the roundabout for Cromer called The Eagle. A fine selection of beers & spirits and good quality home cooked food (try the Sunday lunch).
We will return to Norwich and this will be our point of call

The staff at this travel lodge were excellent. We were staying here as it was in close proximity to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital where my mother was on end of life care. We stayed for 11 nights altogether, having to extend our stay twice. The staff ensured we had everything we needed and advised us how we could get the room rate cheaper by contacting the central office, as we do not have smartphones. Our room was serviced daily and we had clean towels every day. ther were plenty of teas, coffees sugars and milks.

We stayed here for a family occasion. The bed wasn’t comfortable, the room was cold on arrival but did warm up, no bath mat and only one hand towel and no additional blankets.
However it was very reasonable (less than £30 including a discount) and was very quiet, everything was clean but don’t expect any frills for that price!

first class location seconds off the main road but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. mc donalds less than a minute in car or could walk in less than 5 , there was a burger king and subway on site , petrol station next door , ample car parking .
On arrival we were greeted by a lady called Rebecca , we felt at ease the second she greeted us , asked us had we stayed with them before and during our stay if there was anything what so ever we needed then please call to see her she showed true professionalism a true credit to Travelodge clearly must of been a senior manager , highly recommend this Travelodge , we will return

We recently returned from a two night stay attending a family event. We arrived in the city by train and found the hotel to be an approximate 15 minute walk away and a little up-hill but as we are both reasonably fit this wasn't really an issue. Once located we were very quickly registered by a helpful receptionist. We did have a bit of an issue with our electronic key (it wouldn't open our room door) but this was soon rectified. Once in the room we found it spotlessly clean as was the bathroom although we did note that the back off the TV remote was missing. We both had a comfortable nights sleep although there was some noise from the bus station behind the hotel (our room was at the back) both in the morning and quite late at night as well as from some noise from kids running about within the hotel. The water pressure in the shower in the morning was excellent and in fact we had to turn it down so as it didn't flood the bathroom. We didn't eat on site so cannot comment on that but overall we had a comfortable enjoyable stay.

I recently stayed at Norwich Cringleford and had to depart early due to noise levels. We requested to move after some time and took our bags to reception as my colleague staying with me suffers with mental health meaning it’s easier to move situations that can trigger anxiety.
I was told I would be contacted but I wasn’t and after 4 days I had to call myself to the hotel and was told that someone would deal with a potential voucher and escalate my complaint.
I was called today by the manager and told I would not be getting a refund and she was quite rude and aggressive in nature. She told me that guests don’t come to reception with bags packed if they want another room and that the hotel staff offered me another room. I said that was untrue and there was some dispute as to the facts from her staff not that I want to question their integrity. I requested that she view me as an individual customer not such as someone she may have dealt with.
The staff did not offer another room and told me it would not be possible. I decided to leave early to protect my colleagues mental health. There is now some debate over what the colleague said to us.
The hotel said nobody was walking the corridors but we passed a guest on our way to reception with our bags. Nevertheless we couldn’t get another room and did not use the full booking.
I requested for the complaint to be escalated but she told me that I needed to do it myself. I therefore contacted them via online form immediately.
I told her my colleague could vouch for the lack of alternate room but it was dismissed.
Overall I am appalled by the way it was dealt with and having been told I didn’t get contact because the manager didn’t believe a refund was necessary. A call or email would of been nice as the staff member confirmed by details.
I am now questioning the future use of travelodge hotels and closing my accounts. I have stayed a number of times at travelodge in the Norfolk region in the last two years but quite frankly it has left me questioning whether I want to do so again.
I’ve never had such terrible service from travelodge and have had several positive dealings with Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft staff.
I asked if the line was recorded but did not get an answer but I wish I knew it was so I could request it was listened to.
Do not stay at Norwich Cringleford!

Generally ok value for money. As usual, the bed was very hard but the bedding was fresh and clean. Towels were changed every day during my 4-day stay (not available for stays shorter than 3 days). The carpet in my room had a stain on it that made me cringe and I didn't feel comfortable walking on the carpet in bare feet. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful.

We checked in around 7.30pm and the receptionist was rather blunt, handed us the keys and then walked way.
As we entered our room we was greeted by a horrible musty smell (which didn’t go all evening/night). We then noticed that the carpets were stained, not just a little amount but a lot, with big red marks. The carpets were also poorly fitted causing ripples and bumps in the carpet and this was a health and safety fall risk (so this is even more of a risk for me as I have had knee replacement surgery).
We paid for 24 hours worth of WiFi but no one could connect to this as the code you had provided us had already been used (not by us).
We thought we would make a cup of tea, but again we couldn’t as the cups were dirty so this put us off.
When we decided to go to bed, we noticed that the bedlinen was ripped and felt gritty to lay on. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable.
We also found out during the night that there were moths in the room which has bitten myself and my granddaughter who is 2.
In the morning, after an horrendous nights sleep, we decided to all have showers but surprise, there was no hot water! We went to reception to ask about this but there was no one on the desk!
We packed up and left before 6.30 as we couldn’t stand the hotel anymore. The receptionist, who had magically appeared from somewhere, didn’t even ask us how our stay was. She was more concerned with her burger and chips that she had waiting for her.
Due to all of this, it has put us off of ever using a Travelodge again.
Did complain to Travelodge to only be told “it is an old hotel so is to be expected, the hotel is also due to refurb soon!”

Very reasonably priced for a last-minute stay in Norwich. Under £40. You only get half an hour free WiFi, if you want any more you have to pay £3. The car park is spacious, although it’s right underneath a pylon which buzzes loudly.
The bed was comfortable and there was adjustable heating/air con. It was quieter than I was expecting; I was able to sleep with no ear plugs. The room and bathroom were visually clean.
The shower was very powerful, perfect for washing my hair (although the shower head was fixed to the wall).
The room was very basic, I had to ask for a hairdryer, but I didn’t need anything else for a 1 night stay.
Now to the bad points. Reception was often unmanned, housekeeping came in to clean while I was in my pyjamas! Idk why they didn’t check to see if I had checked out before letting themselves in?? And on my way out I noticed mould on the ceiling by the door 🤢.
No option for hot breakfast in the morning.
Overall I would probably stay here again. It was excellent value for Norwich. I would just check for mould as soon as you get into your room!

Should really be 3.5 stars.
Pro's
Location just off the A11 / A47 junction is ideal if you have relatives in the Hospital, there's a Shell garage, Burger King , Subway and Mcdonalds all within 100 yards of the Hotel. If you need anything then get onto the A47 and either go towards the A140 and then into Norwich where there's a Tesco Superstore just on the right, or head towards Swaffham and the large Longwater Retail park where there's also a Premier Inn.
The room was spacious, clean with a TV with Freeview but poor signal on many of the channels, desk, 2 chairs, bed and kettle with tea making facilities. The carpet was spotless and had obviously been well cleaned before I arrived, sheets, pillowcases etc all spotless, 2 large Towels, 1 smaller towel, hangers in the wardrobe , shower gel in a dispenser on the wall in the bath / shower. good Water pressure, plenty of hot water.
In room heating was sufficient, but I think it would struggle on a cold night.
It was quiet, no road noise and the only noise I heard was from other guests who were fairly quiet as well.
Counter staff are brilliant, very helpful and accommodating.
Con's
The outside area itself is pretty grotty, a lot of litter everywhere, especially near the Burger King and outside the Hotel itself. A shell garage and massive electricity pylon completes the vista from the front window.
Bath tub is very small indeed, and the fan in the bathroom was filthy and during the night had deposited dirty fluff all in the bathtub. All it takes is a wipe with a sponge or wet cloth to clean all the dirt off it.
Overall, good value for money if you book at the right time, and functional, basic 2 star accommodation as advertised.

Don't bother with a box, far better value at McDonalds close by, breakfast items such as fruit, porridge, bacon and sausage mcMuffins etc. pleasant surroundings, far better than the joint operation run by Burger King and Subway right next door to the hotel which was a bit run down and grubby.
It does have a shower
The room has a shower over the bath
I go there quite regularly as I have family nearby, never had a problem, xxx
