Very clean and large rooms with everything you really need. Service is polite, but I would have loved I the receptionist had explained the details about restaurant and breakfast without asking her first. Splendid restaurant is located in the garden - do dine there! A...More

Sami restaurant was an interesting experience but a bit expensive and would not want to eat there more than once per stay.
Only downside was issue over Scandic member discount on food which was not resolved...More

Thank you for your question.
Winter is the season when you can experience the Northern lights, and North Norway is probably the most beautiful place to do so... About Karasjok- yes, you can take a Northern lights safari/hunting tour from the local provider, however, Karasjok is the coldest place in Norway, and if you need to spend much time hunting for Aurora, extremely low temperature could ruin your experience. I would recommend Alta, which is near & bigger costal town, with a milder temperatures (because of the sea), and more providers to choose the package from. They almost all provide additional clothing for their guests in the winter period. Karasjok is THE place for experiencing Sami culture, reindeers & good food. But for Northern lights hunt, I would rather recommend Alta. Hope this helps 😊
