The hotel is actually really good for 1 night, rooms are smallish but clean and functional with decent wifi. the restaurant is a chain style but better than you might expect. really nice staff. my room was on the ground floor near reception so it was a bit noisy at times.

When we arrived the place was like a bomb had landed. After 5 minutes it became apparent that half of the staff that were suppose to be working had called in sick as they'd all been out the night before. Two chefs in the kitchen and a handful of staff front of house. I really hope the management have the...

Evening spoilt by Raucous laughter and swearing by the group of regular locals, shame as this pub is iconic as a family venue and convenient stop over on the A1, Darrington is a lovely village well placed upon the A1 but over recent months since the venue was taken over by the Green King group the management turn a blind...

The room was clean and comfortable but the bathroom was icy cold with no radiator or heating and no blind or curtain ..not the best if the weather is cold it needs a radiator and blind or curtain for privacy in the bathroom

You get what you pay for. In need of refurbishment but adequate for what I wanted. The food was very nice though, good selection and staff were helpful & friendly. Would stay again but only for one night.

As it said on the label. Good room good service( taxi's booked) Decent all around place to stay. We were comfortable. The car park was ample. I didn't use the bar area but it looked pleasant as we went through to breakfast. Public toilets were spotless. Dining was informal and we were checked upon during the meal to ensure total...

If you are travelling on the A1 and want a good quality reasonably priced lunch this hotel was excellent. Much better than the normal services you find on motorways. Easy to find and quick service. Will definitely stop there again.

Well...... The room is fine. The food is fine. The pub is not. It has been amusing. We were told that there was a 50 minute wait for food. This was incorrect. There was a 25 minute wait at the bar to order the food (!) and then a quite reasonable 25 minute wait for the food to appear. After...

Stopped off here on a trip up the country. Very convenient for the A1 but this does mean there is road noise if you have a window open and as there is no air-con this is likely. Room was a good size with chair, desk and free wi-if. Bathroom a bit dated and in my room no hot water came...

Would normally have used one of the other chain hotels, but they were all fully booked. Was a great find, friendly staff and locals. We were lucky that on the night we stayed their was a Bruce Springstein tribute act on, free entry and a fun night after a long drive. Will definitely be back.
