A scindia palace converted to a hotel. The rooms are tastefully decorated with artifacts and decor of the king's era. The stained glass sconces were appealing. Food was excellent with chefs paying attention to customize guest needs. Cappuccino and coffee were way below par and the hotel should fix this. Hotel can plan on some cultural events for the guests...

A great option for a brief leisure holiday. As the erstwhile option for state guests- offers a taste of heritage royal splendor with lattices, antiques and multiple private nooks. A peaceful easy getaway with a relaxing spa. The kitchen garden was an interesting feature as well! Good choice for kids with sprawling lawns n pool- plenty of space for them...

This building was originally the guest house of the large palace nearby... it is quite big, encompassing several courtyards. Our rooms were huge, but we expected twin beds. They added a bed for one pair but said they would make a Hollywood twin' out of the kinds size bed for the other... which just meant 2 quilts on one bed....

Everything we expected about our stay was exceeded. The service, the room, the facilities, Spa, pool and in particular, the food, be it breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner ,barbeque etc. Lastly and most importantly was the fantastic central location, ideal to walk around and experience the local city lifestyle plus walk to all the amazing historic palaces, temples and forts. On the one hand, this is a magnificent heritage hotel filled with the loveliness of a by-gone era -- beautiful courtyards of gushing fountains, gardens filled with lush flowerbeds, a chorus of parrots and every kind of bird in the jungle of trees, and the most elegent pool and spa. On the other hand, rooms that are showing their age...

This beautiful heritage hotel was a former 120 year old palace. It is an atmospheric place to stay with beautiful grounds and a pool. The room we had was very spacious and well appointed, the hotel has maintained its Art Deco style. Ideally situated for Jai Vilas Palace. Good place to unwind for a couple of days.

This lovely hotel has intriguing character, good Indian cuisine and an attractively planted garden and pool to return to after a long morning sightseeing. The staff are very helpful. The room assigned to me had a peacock blue mosaic bath tub, sitting room and the bedroom opened on to a terrace with a table and 2 chairs looking over the...

It was our 3rd stay at this hotel and we were very disappointed. The elevator was out of order because "wedding guests were abusing it." Even after seeing me on crutches, the management could not think of finding another room but they opened the elevator. The bar has been closed for 2 years so we could not invite business associates...
