Clear 3 star hotel due to issues in service. But first good things.. Hotel rooms are nice as well as other facilities. Spa is small but enjoyable.
Then bads.. Spa does have issues in service like water drinking cups are off during busiest time a day, shower soaps are off and papers left by lazy people lay over in locker room. On spa service side nobody cares at the end. Same continues in room cleaning, cleaning between nights need to be ordered but they are so lazy that even toilets are not cleaned, see picture. If you have two floor room, upper floor is not cleaned even on several day stay. Reception is sometimes a chaos, they do not know how to use cash registers.. If you buy Spa ticket, drinks and something for hotel reservation at once, you need to go through three cash registers.. In overall, service and how things are organized and implemented in this hotel is worst ever among any Sokos hotel even if this is relax category hotel.. Something that Sokos management shall take actions. Nurmes is nice place and this is pretty much only hotel there so no competition in a sense but still improvement is needed if you want to have customers to stay also second time.

We spent some nice days at Bomba area with the family during the christmas holidays relaxing and enjoying the winter and snow. Our hotel room was nice and clean, the spa excellent. Also the hotel restaurant was cosy and service was friendly. The cross country skiing track starts directly from the hotel. There are also excellent activity and rental services provided by Wild Nordic, you can experience the winter wonderland on guided tours or make excursions on your own by renting a fatbike or snow mobile etc. But, why doesn’t the Hotel give any information on these services at the arrival? The guests have to find the activities alone. The receptionist did not say a word of the program services at check in, also in the hotel room we did not find any Information brochure. If you visit Bomba, you should go and find the Safarihouse, it is located only 150 m from the hotel on the way to the Bomba House and Carelian village. Have a good snowtime! We did it and will come again!

Went here for a break with my family. The hotel was awesome and the spa was really reaxing. There's also a lake outside, but since it was january the lake was under ice. The food there was delicious. The room was cool since it had a small second floor/balcony with beds up there. Overall the hotel was great!

Thr hotel reception was very freindly even though we had a feeling that they were lacking personnel all over. That might be true as they just re-opened after closing the hotel because the pandemia. Ouur room was spacious with good air conditioning and nice view to the lake and forest. For breakfast we needed to choose a time when we will arrive, and that is great procedure. I hope they continue with that also in future. Sun terrace in teh evening was a love ly place to have a cold drink and anjoy the view. The Karelian village was just reopened and there is plenty to see. I recommend taking a short walk on the path of silence to the near by tsasouna in the morning, when it really is still quiet.

Room Tip:Our room was in separate building, next to the building with restaurant and spa. Liked that a lot.

The Christmas holidays in Nurme went smoothly. The service from reception to checkout went well. I liked the breakfast and other service. Full marks especially for the staff. Somehow this local attitude matches ours

We had reservation at Karelia village. Rooms were lovely, but we had to buy Raid electric killer because of the mosquitoes! And there were lot of ants at the bathroom. We recommend You take room at the spa hotel. The spa was great and lovely! beautiful! Saunas were the best saunas in the Finland. And we loved hot and cold pools! Lake Pielinen is really great! You definitely want to go swimming there!

Very huge hotel with a lot of service. Spa is beautiful, with a big swimming pool and a lot of different service (Turkish bath, showers, and so on and so forth) Food was also very rich and we can taste and enjoy local dishes. To be tried , better in low season.

We stayed here en route to the bears at Martinselkonen and it made an excellent stopover.
Bomba is quite a complicated place. At its heart is the huge wooden Bomba House, a replica of a Karelian mansion house. This is worth a visit in itself and holds the restaurant, where breakfast and a 'Karelian buffet' is served until 7.30pm. This is a very atmospheric and jolly place to dine, even though the buffet, which was pretty good value, didn't seem to us very much different from other Finnish buffets. There was also a la carte and our vegetarian daughter had pasta from this.
The Bomba House is at the heart of a whole 'Karelian Village', set in the woods at the head of Lake Pielinen and in a lovely situation. It is clear that there is lots to do here if you stay for a while.
We stayed in two adjacent rooms in one of several a Karelain log cabins in the village. This was convenient, reasonably well-equipped and atmospheric. A short walk away were a Karelian gift shop and an open-air theatre where a compicated and unintelligible Finnish event was taking place when we visited.
Further away through the woods are more modern buildings housing conventional hotel bedrooms (which we didn't see) and a large swimming centre. This has (warm) outdoor and indoor pools with saunas, snack bar and beauticians on hand.

Stayed two nights here in early August. Hotel was really nice, with beautiful surroundings and views to lake Pielinen. Room was good, but bathroom was not well designed. No place to put your personal stuff, instead a huge sink with no use. The spa was really nice - but there is a charge for hotel guests as well. Restaurant was good, food delicious and breakfast nice. Staff friendly all over.
