We stayed in one of the glass igloos for the weekend at the end of January and it was a fantastic experience. The scenery in and around the resort is spectacular and I would definitely recommend doing a variety of the activities on offer, it allows you to combine seeing the scenery with doing a unique and enjoyable activity. I...

Overall, we enjoyed our time at Kakslauutenen. It is very expensive, but watching the stars and northern lights from our bed in quiet snowy surroundings is a unique experience. However, the stay wasn't without its significant failings which means we didn't feel like we got our money's worth. We stayed two nights in a glass igloo in the East Village....

This hotel was good and not so good. Let me explain: We stayed in the West Village. Cabins were lovely. We were two friends traveling together, so the large cabin with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms was perfect. Large enough, comfortable. You may want to bring tea, coffee, hot chocolate and snacks etc as the location is reasonably remote. I...

Stayed here for 4 nights in early February 2016, what an experience, beautiful place and lovely friendly people at this resort. We stayed the first night in a Glass Igloo which was ok. Then 3 nights in a log cabin with a private sauna, wonderful! The food was good and it was a really enjoyable holiday. Also Finnair are great...

It was a great experience staying in West Village Igloo. With the extreme weather in Saariselka, we were still able to stay warm in the igloo. As it is an igloo, will expect limited space for bathroom and toilet, but at least these basic needs are available in the igloo. There are no hot water kettle in the room I...

Stayed for 3 days (2 days in the traditional house at the East Village and last night on the West Village on the igloo). We really enjoyed the stay, specially the traditional house which was really beautiful and well appointed! The east village seems less crowded and more genuine. I was somehow disappointed of the igloo, its not too bad,...

We were here from 12th -17th February 2016. It was recommended by a friend who got married here in 2012 - we saw a number of negative reviews on here and was a touch worried, but I honestly have NO idea how this place has any negative reviews at all. We were having a holiday, without our kids (!), for...

The first thing I read in tripadvisor are the bad reviews starting with terrible, the poor, average. So I know the bad experiences of other people who stayed here. But we still chose this hotel mainly for the igloo shape. There are other glass igloos in the Arctic Snow Hotel and Levi but I find those in Kakslauttanen closely resembling...

Magical! Describes our experience from beginning to end. Cannot fault our stay. We stayed for 3 nights at the East Village, 2 nights in a log cabin and 1 in a glass igloo. This is older than the West Village but we loved the traditional style log cabins and welcoming reception and restaraunt. Sledges are available for you to take...

A truly wonderful resort and quite a unique experience. The staff have been welcoming, attentive and courteous from the moment my party of 19 arrived. My party have enjoyed the comfort of both the small & large cabins and I myself stayed in a queen suite with my bride to be. All cabins are of a good size for a...
