We had an overnight stay in Bangkok but didn't want to travel into town. We decided to stay at Suvarnabhumi airport in this very unique resort. It sits on a 6 hectares piece of land, featuring quite a spectacular lake (we noticed swans floating around), on the border of which the large Kohlanta Restaurant is located (for outdoors and indoors dining). It's a spectacular complex with red pagoda type roofs and triangular objects. Fenced-off by a security gate is this resort which had been created later by the same owner, some 5 years ago, featuring 27 private villa's, yet another (smaller) restaurant, a pool area, a meeting room and a watch tower, from where the guests can observe planes landing and taking off. Some of the villa's are located on the lake side, whilst others are situated right next to the landing strip, where we were housed in a very large and ornate villa, featuring a private outdoor sun deck, large seating area, separated from an unusual very high ceiling brickwork circular bed room (hardly any noise comes through). Spectacular to be able to see the planes landing from the bathtub. Earplugs were provided but not really needed. The resort is housing the owners huge personal antiques and arts collection, quite spectacular to see. Very comfy (twin) beds, excellent breakfast buffet, and free shuttle to the (closeby) airport departures hall. An interesting overnight experience, quite different from any other standard airport hotel! Love it or hate it, we highly recommend this unusual resort if you have an overnight airport stay.

We stayed next to this place at another Hotel. We had driven by this resort many times and we were very curious about it. We walked over to take a look. i must say very different, unique, and interesting. We walked through the whole resort. a lot of it was broken and needed repaired. We stopped at the lobby. it was full of clutter, with many different types of furniture and other items. We walked to the restaurant and found a lot of clutter and unique antiques and odds and ends. We decided to have lunch while there.. The lunch was enjoyable and delicious, but it was over priced. The service was slow and getting the food after it was ordered was also very slow. We decided to take a look at one of their rooms. The rooms fit the same mold. A lot of clutter and different types of furniture. I would say, it was a experience to walk around and take in all the different and unique furniture and other items. Something different to see , if you have nothing to do on your way to the Airport in Bangkok

The resort was Beautiful in every way the room was very big. The architecture is breathtaking especially the roof . You could hear the planes flying ahead quite often but we can't complain because we understand that the resort is very close to the airport and it is very convenient for people with early flights or those who do not want stuck in Bangkok trafic . We promise we will be back every time we visit Thailand .The staff warm and helpful.

On the return trip from Laos we decided to stop in Bangkok for one night and picked this property near BKK airport. The reviews on this hotel are misleading or perhaps not authentic. The place is in urgent need of a complete makeover. Very expensive and poorly maintained. It’s located in a mosquito infested area and lacks fly screens and mosquito nets.

As you see it in the distance as you drive up, you’ll think wow, what a wonderful and unique place. But the grandeur fades as you get closer. The complimentary airport pick up was a nice feature and the person who picked us up at the nearby BBK airport was super nice. Once you enter the reception area, you’ll know you made a mistake. The lobby is cluttered, dusty and looks like a cross between an old antique shop and a hoarder’s house. It’s creepy, dirty and depressing. The concept of the villa is great, but the execution is poor. The furniture is mis-matched, the decor is out dated and the art has inventory numbers on it. Weird! The round brick bedroom is windowless and odd. The villa has multi levels with small differences in the floor level, it’s a real trip hazard. And of concern to me was a complete lack of any smoke detectors in the villa - not even an inexpensive battery operated one. I felt unsafe there. And speaking of safes, the room safe was simply set inside a cabinet, not bolted down and easily carried away - totally useless. We stayed there because of the close proximity to the airport. That’s it’s only asset. I was uncomfortable in this place, it was not a good experience.

The pictures of this resort don't lie, it's really a spectacular place. It reminds me of walking around epcot in Disneyworld, like you have been transported to a different world! Our villa was really interesting too, with several rooms... very spacious!

The breakfast was great and the pool was fantastic. The staff were very helpful and the security was very present.

The only slight against it was the airport... some of the planes were loud, but they provided ear plugs to combat that.

If you need a place close to the airport, and you want to relax in an awesome atmosphere, this is a great place!

Our family group stayed here between our lunchtime arrival at Suvarnabhumi (Bangkok International Airport) and our onward flight 24 hours later. It was an enjoyable and highly interesting stay, to say it had character is an understatement. Even by the unrestrained standards of Thailand it's a bit over the top. But enjoyable nonetheless.
The room was actually a suite, with a beehive shape to the bedroom, and the design approach everywhere was exuberant. Despite being close to the airport, the noise of aircraft landing or taking off was not an issue. The dining room, again, was a place of character, in effect within its own art gallery. Food was good, dinner (outside by the pool) reasonably priced, the overnight price included breakfast and also airport transfers, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Oh and there is an observation tower you can go up to take in the resort or watch the planes.
I would give five stars but for one annoying thing: in the huge bathroom the toilet pedestal was on the low side (common in Thailand) and isolated with nothing nearby to hold on to. My wife has disability issues, and the lack of something to grab or lean on meant that she could not rise from it unaided. Not convenient. A thought towards disabled guests by the designers would have helped.

It's just beside the airport (Suvarnabhumi) so if you're travelling light the you can go there (hotel does an airport transfer) and get the new rail link. The alternative is taxi (hotel can arrange).
