We stayed for 2 nights at Barchan Dune. The drive from Windhoek (after some rains) was quite challenging for we city types! The farm is set in some beautiful and stark country a long way from anything close to urban living. If you like your hotel with all mod cons this may not for you! No air con if that's...

Burchan Dune Retreat had been frequented by a member of our party on several occasions. He positively gushed about it. It therefore had a lot to live up to and I'm pleased to say it did not disappoint. The bungalow type room was large, lots of space and the view from it is spectacular. It was also comfortable and clean....

Our family (Anna 10, Roger 17, Josep 50 and I) stayed in Barchan Dune Retreat on the way back from Sossusvley. We loved it. It was such a quiet place! Beautiful and full of energy. The owner were wonderful and food was really good. My son took some of the best pictures of the trip from the top of the...

The Barchan Dune Retreat was a challege to find tucked away in the mountains. Once arrived we were greeted with a lemonade made out of homegrown lemons. Our room was sort of a hobbit hole in the ground but with a great windows towards the valley. They did not lack in space and the bed was very comfortable. For dinner...

We stayed 2 nights and could have stayed more. Hannetjie and Willem the most amazing hosts and we will never forget our stay with them. (Not forgetting Coco Lucky and Koerie!!) I would say this accommodation is between mid-range and luxury. We did a sun downer trip with Willem and experienced another sunset to remember for ever. Shared dinner and...

Wonderful location, well run b&b with great food. Worth staying more than one night to soak up the peaceful atmosphere. Close to the magnificent Spreetshoogte Pass, and has the added delight of watching moonrise over the surrounding mountains.

There are few places in the world where such phrases apply. Barchan Dune Retreat is definitively one of those. Go there and enjoy this area where beauty and silence become unforgettable emotions... Thanks again for this wonderful stay. For sure we will come back. Xavier, Pascale, Quentin, Benoit et Alexis.

What an awesome stay. The weather was hot and so is the service. A typical couples retreat. Ecxellent food and wine. Dinner is something out of this world. It is near to all the attractions in the suroundings.

We stayed at Barchan for the second time (only one day unfortunately) and it was wonderful again. Very good dinner, amazing rooms with one of the greatest views ever and perfect hospitality... Could listen to the owners real life farming stories for many more evenings.

“Chalets are well apart from each other, and each is the same with wonderful view”
FuzzyDunlopez, 21 Aug 2016 | Read review
“We had the chalet farthest from the lodge (about 300 meters away), and it was absolutely perfect. There were 2 bedrooms: 1 with a double bed and 1 with 3 singles. One bedroom had a fantastic shower, and the other had a deep, step-down-in tub. Both had super comfy beds, were spotlessly clean, and beautifully designed and appointed. In addition, we had an upper-story deck that faced away from the lodge and right into the valley, with no signs of humans anywhere in sight. Gorgeous.”

“We have not seen all rooms. But our impression is that due to the clever bidding of the bungalows in the ground and their arrangement relativ to each other they are all excellent”
