Stayed at the Haymaker whilst working in the area. Owners were hospitable and room large and very comfortable. Pub downstairs is cosy and home cooked food excellent with generous portions. Will 100% be returning when working in area again.

I'd be lying if I said this was the best pub roast I'd ever had but what you get for your money is fantastic! Two choices of starter, two choices of meat roast and three choices of pud. We had two pate and toast starters, one roast pork, one roast beef, chocolate fudge cake and ice cream, jam sponge and...

We arrived with great excitement and expectations.....A Friday evening and seemed busy, which is good. We ordered 3 mixed grills and a steak. This took just under an hour to arrive. However they did give us a free round of drinks for the delay, but I would have preferred meal a little quicker than that. One of the steaks on...

We've just come back from our first visit to the Haymaker and it definitely won't be our last. When my daughter booked the table she was told they had just reopened. She was advised a 3-course meal was £10 (actually just under). The service was prompt, the food was hot on hot plates. The servings were just the right size....

This pub is on our doorstep but until now there hasn't been much to tempt us in. Went this evening for a meal and what a difference! The new owners, Carrie and Jason were warm and welcoming, the food was lovely and the prices were very reasonable. Limited menu at the moment as they've only been there a few days...

We were the first customers under new management. Andy, Carrie and team were very kind, they showed great consideration for their guests. It was very clean. The breakfast was very good. I would recommend them.

A very friendly welcome at this roadside pub. The room was adequate and comfortable, but not brilliantly cleaned (dead fly on windowsill, for example). However, quiet and welcoming. Food was fairly basic, even by pub standards, but plentiful. Overall, a little bit expensive for what was offered, compared with traditional hotels in the area.

The staff were very welcoming when I arrived and throughout my stay, going out of their way to help in any way possible. The room was comfortable, and had everything I needed for a comfortable couple of nights and all at excellent value for money. The only downfall is the internet. If they were to update the internet to a...

Let's just say that it was good it wasn't a "Four in the Bed" program! Tired bathroom with unstable showerscreen, pillow shams with pillows in what sounded like plastic bags and a television nearly smaller than my iPad. As for WiFi - forget it -rather errattic and only possible downstairs.
