We visited charming Kaya Mawa during an epic Pan African air safari, flying from Kenya to Namibia and back. The Island is great and the location of Kaya Mawa simply perfect. Everything in this cozy lodge is charming: the hospitality, the decor, the architecture, the blending of the buildings in their surrounding Nature. Great array of water activities and splendid...

Well Kaya Mawa has a lot to live up to -- just check the list of its many awards! We are pleased to say that the hype is justified. Romantic, luxurious, beautiful, incredibly well-designed, all of these things are true. We were lucky enough to have one of the chalets with own jetty which we absolutely adored, the details are...

This place is paradise! It has a very relaxing environment and atmosphere. If given a chance to stay permanently I would jump for it. I had my birthday on this paradise and is the best birthday ever. The staff are very friendly and helpful it was home away from home. The food was good, thanks to Richie the chef, only...

This is a truly excellent place to stay and a huge number of other reviews tell the same story. The location is great, the food is great and Michelle's team is great... You can more or less eat at any time suitable to you. How many other places offer this? As a recreational pilot, we were on a tour of...

We visited Kaya Mawa for 5 nights in June 2015 after nearly a month on safari in the Zambian bush. I felt like I had been transported to another world. Pure, unpretentious luxury and service. Our chalet was the fabulous Ngani house, removed from the rest of the accomodations on it's own stretch of beach. My husband & I felt...

Kaya Mawa was absolutely amazing. We had the beautiful honeymoon suite, with our own private pool, and view that can't be beat! The room was amazing, spacious and nicely decorated. The restaurant was great and the food amazing. So delicious. In the evening we had a romantic dinner on the beach, under the stars, with a three course meal. The...

Kaya Mawa has the highly sophisticated mix of luxary and superb quality with a low-profile charm . Apparently just natural but so difficult to achieve. And so wonderful to find. This includes all the eminent staff with the cleaners, gardeners, Michelle as the manger on duty as well as the owner James and the waiters with Martin and Wilson. Not...

It is the birds you notice and the waves. Then you feel the lovely breeze on your face and hear the lake: the waves against the boulders and the fishermen singing from afar taking home their early morning’s catch. Waking up at Kaya Mawa is like drifting into a Hollywood romance and you’ll be hard pressed to tell at what...

I absolutely fell in love with this lodge. It feels like your own private island. No need to go all the way to North Island,- this is as remote and Kaya Mawa comes at a much lower rate. The Management Couple is great combo and Michelle’s friendliness is huge bonus for the stunning setting. The food was excellent, creative and...
