This off-the-beaten path activity is well worth the trek. We took a 4-hour boat ride with a knowledgeable, local Mayan guide named Pastor. Our 3-year-old came along and loved it. He even floated in the canal with us - screaming joy to the dismay of the French tourists ahead of us. We saw white Ibis, wood stork, commorants, manatee and...

Upon arrival the ecological resort seems like it was a good pick. The staff was friendly upon arrival however after check in things began to go south. My penthouse room was nice and clean however every single night after the day out when I returned it smelled just like sewer. I complained every night and nothing was rectified besides offering...

No complaints. None. Been there twice and will go back a third time. A smaller resort, but part of 4 in total...so it is like a city...you can trolly to all the other resorts and use the amenities. So you have use of all 4! Lots of restaurants. Lots of choices. But only this one is adult only. People with...

I really like this place because it is a gorgeous town in Mexico. What makes this place so special is the fact that it is a small peaceful land that is eco friendly, a reminder that nature does not need big hotels. The further you go the better it gets. And the beaches found in Sian Ka'an biosphere are really...

My name is Judy Chang, from San Francisco, California, US. My husband Malvin Chang and I were taking our vacation from Aug. 10th through Aug. 15th, 2014 at Sian Kaan Hotel. We really enjoyed those days in there and everyone was very friendly. Gracy, the front desk manager, brings warm welcome to us, the welcome Tequila Sunrise was very impressive....

So, when you arrive at the gates of the reserve, the reps on the gate say that this is the only tour and will charge you up to U$70 per person for a 3 hour tour. This includes a boat trip to some pretty average ruins, a float trip down a river (this was fun), and 30 mins viewing Manatees....

The Visitor Center at Sian Ka'an seemed like a great idea- right in the middle of the reserve with great beach access and ecotourist activities. The reality of the place leave much to be desired, though....It is VERY PRIMITIVE and not that I would mind except it is outrageously expensive on top of that. It doesn't include anything in the...

My husband I spent two nights in the beach front tent cabins in September. We came from Cozumel to enjoy staying in a more "natural" setting. The tent cabins were simple but nicely furnished. The setting was beatiful and romantic. My husband enjoyed napping in the hammock and I enjoyed reading while overlooking the ocean. The bathrooms, although communal, were...

We spent four nights in the tent "palapas" at Sian Kaan. Perched above the beach amidst palm trees, with the sea breeze to keep us cool, we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting. The tents are basic but clean and comfortable, with hammocks on the deck. They were still re-thatching the roofs during out stay, and when the...

“Depends where you want to be. There are 4 pools in total. One is the party pool where there is music and games. Another is a halfway point....quiet but friendly...another one is the library pool...everyone reads...very quiet....The 4th is in another section which is ultra quiet. All depends where you want to be.”
