The pool is amazing, great size and fantastic views, we were in total luxury, sun lounges extremely comfortable.
The apartment is traditional and beautiful. All windows insect proof. Kitchen fully equipped with a good espresso machine. Bedrooms upstairs.
There is a good patio garden - we got bitten quite badly so we could have been more prepared but it was nice to play dominos and have lunch out there – and our very own private bar in the evenings!
We used the bikes on the first day and it was great cycling in the countryside, ended up at Rosano for provisions and lunch, well recommended, but, unfortunately, one of the four bikes wasn’t wired properly and the break was constantly on – double the sweat!
Beautiful hillside walks in the day to both Molino (30 mins) and Sieci (40 mins) – following the red and white stripes on the walls and trees. Both walks on the Lombrichino side of the river. Steep hill on the return.
We found Molino del Piano a sweeter place the Sieci, although in Sieci, right next to the train station, there is a good ice cream parlour selling crepes and beers, mmm.
From Sieci get a train to Florence (20 mins).
Rosie Lawrence came over and gave us an oil painting lesson which I would totally recommend. Unfortunately my picture wasn’t dry for the journey home and got spoiled; wish I had left it for posting when dried!

Everything closed in Sieci on a Tuesday (apart from the ice cream shop!), and closed in Molino on a Monday.
If we go back it would be with a car – we did use a taxi a couple of times but be prepared to barter the cost – he has a monopoly in the area!
It was so hot that we just wanted to chill by the pool but we did go to Florence and can not wait to return – Florence has the potential for days of visiting, little cobbled streets, food, leather and mask markets, and art and museums everywhere – you will not be disappointed with the visit and perhaps like us will want to return to see things you missed.
Say hello to Lorella from the English guys without a car, she really is very lovely with a beautiful, well cared for and relaxing place to stay.

House very cramped and damp
Not many restaurants in the area
The pool is not only reserved for the guests of the villa, and don't even hope to have the dinner at the pool side for sunset, it's close after 7:00pm.....
To sum up we really did not expect this after having visited the website, be careful
Recommend a vehicle for holidays at this location as it is off the beaten track and the local restaurants are a few miles away.
Outdoor seating area is too far from the house so we didn't bother using it... A bit like sitting in a car park! Pool is beautiful and clean but annoyed we were told we couldn't use it after 7pm because in August it was hot during the day to sit there.
Owners are very friendly and helpful. Encouraged us to use the train to go to florence but do check timetables they are not that frequent.
