We came her on a day when the restaurant was closed, so we didn't get to try the food there, although the menu looks very enticing with many local Tuscan specialties.
We joined the tour for €33 per person. The castle is beautiful, and our tour guide, who studied viniculture, was very knowledgeable about wine production as well as the colorful history of the castle and vineyard itself, and his passion really shone through his presentation.
The format of the tasting is a little different. We arrived in the first room, and after some introduction, we got to taste a wine, then further along the tour, in another room, we got to taste something related to what he was talking about. Then finally we emerged into a large tasting room, where we enjoyed more wine along with some local delicacies. The salami, cheese, bread and olive oil are all from the area (hey we are talking about Tuscany!!), we even got the names of the shops from our tour guide so we were able to visit them and bought some goodies a few days later.
I really enjoy the taste-as-we-go-along format, it allows me to spend more time with each individual wine, and drinking it as we listened to the tour guide talking about the product enables us to better appreciate it.

Breath taking vistas of the hills and valleys. Wait a half hour and the sun and shadows create a new beautiful scenery of the same vista….glorious. We were attending our daughter and her new husband’s wedding with some family and many of their friends (40 folks) to share such a memorable occasion. The wine and olive oil products from this active farm are very very tasty and the winery tour was excellent. Lots of product and historic information introduced by Alberto. The daily experiences kept us busy and in a very relaxed way. Some ran the hills to nearby villages, others walked the scenic paths. To follow, our continental breakfast’s were fresh and delicious, the detail of freshness in their breads, buns, jams and other condiments were rewarding and a perfect way to start the days. The farmhouse villas were very well equipped, not ostentatious, simple and comfortable, with the front and back areas providing sun or a place to chill in the shade. The pools are a fabulous place to gather cool down, and share your adventures. Three to choose from provided that extra bonus to wander and visit other folks attending the wedding. While there is lots to do right in the region, we stuck close to the castle for ongoing planned events. Mostly food centric lol! Great bbq, pizza party, fabulous food! The wedding itself held in a historic courtyard, was truly beautiful. The architecture and design provided for a cooler setting in late afternoon, (smart design from smart people so long ago) everything was simply enhanced with fresh florals, nothing else would make it more ethereal. The following hour of cocktails and celebration in a connecting garden was glorified with a fabulous saxophone player!! What a touch. The dining (5 course meal) in a part of the actual winery, indoors, was magnificent. The food exemplary. The staff and service were always efficient, and lovely folks. Alberto, our host of Castello del Trebbio was on top of all the goings on, and added some good fun and humour, along with the sharing of the historical castle and region we were experiencing . He made the experience come alive. Gotta love him! So folks….if a unique wedding is in the future, here’s the spot!!

Our wedding at Castello del Trebbio was an absolute dream! With stunning views, delicious food, and excellent staff, we could not have imagined a more special location to have spent the most memorable week of our lives. We would be remiss not to mention and give special thanks to Alberto, he is truly the best of the best. He helped us coordinate all aspects of our wedding, including (but not limited to) recommending an amazing restaurant in Florence to host our rehearsal dinner and finding a last minute babysitter for our 8 month old nephew. Alberto and the rest of the staff were indescribably helpful with all aspects of our wedding, going so far as to do some shopping for requested food and other provisions for our guests prior to our arrival. They really went out of their way to be accommodating and help us with our dream wedding. The grounds are spectacularly beautiful, complete with olive groves to explore, flowers, wildlife, pools for family and friends to relax, and the Medici-era castle! Each villa was perfect for our guests, with a proper combination of modern touches to make you feel at home (en suite bathrooms, AC, modern appliances) and rustic Tuscan charm and architecture. It really felt like home, with our family and friends cooking meals, sharing drinks, and hanging out together. Wedding day was magical. The castle courtyard is the perfect ceremony location, enhanced by the beautiful flowers we had from our florist. Our cocktail hour in the castle garden was great for pictures and the food was enjoyed by all. The restaurant was able to do two signature cocktails for us which our guests loved! Dinner on the terrace was amazing…the meals were exceptional, and the rolling hills backdrop with the sun setting was beyond picturesque. With the help of our ‘day of’ wedding coordinator (Elena Chiaramonti) and Alberto, our wedding day (as well as the rest of the week) was extremely relaxed and stress free, allowing us to truly take in the experience with family and friends. From the welcome day castle tour and wine tasting, to a spectacular wedding day, and even a hangover pizza party, we and our guests had the most memorable week. We will cherish the memories we made with our loved ones at Trebbio. We highly recommend Castello del Trebbio for the Tuscan wedding of your dreams! We cannot wait to come back and hope to spend anniversaries here in this extraordinary, special place.

Crazy is a play on words in reference to the Castle’s founding family. The Pazzi Family. The word Pazzi means crazy in Italian. This special castle, with amazing vineyards, organic gaming, an amazing chef and restaurant, was the highlight of my family’s recent 2-week vacation in Italy. What we loved about the experience was every aspect of it! Alberto corresponded with me via email in advance, arranging a car service to pick us up conveniently from our hotel in Florence. Castello Del Trebbio is not more than 45 minutes away from Florence’s Duomo but the Tuscan countryside and location feels like it’s a million miles from a big city. The service provided by everyone there was just incredibly warm and kind and professional. Chef Jerry gave my daughter and I private pasta making and gourmet Italian dinner cooking lessons while my wife sat back and watched with a huge smile. The dinner was excellent and was paired by the Castle Del Trebbio’s fantastic wines. We had 4 wines paired with the meal. Each was sensational. I went on a tour of the Castle and Wine Cellars. Learning about the castle’s history, dating back to the 12th Century, was fascinating. My tour guide was so knowledgeable and cares deeply about the quality wines, organic farming, and rich history of The Pazzi family up to the current owners. Our stay in one of the beautiful country homes on the property was comfortable and we walked all over the property. The views are amazing and the natural setting is home to deer and wild boar, pollinating bees, majestic hawks and much more. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend that you start planning a trip to Castello Del Trebbio. We originally booked just a Pasta Cooking and Wine Tasting Tour but I decided to also arrange lodging. It was a great decision. I only wish we had spent 3 nights instead of 1. It was the most relaxing part of our trip from Milan to Venice to Florence to Rome to Pompeii and Naples. It was cold in January but that made it much less crowded and the food and wine more tasty! I bet it would be wonderful any time of the year and would be a perfect spot for a family gathering, a romantic getaway or wedding or just to get away and unwind. Bravissimo Castello Del Trebbio! Grazi Mille!

Castello del Trebbio is really the most perfect wedding location you can imagine! The weekend of the 15th of August we stayed with them with 38 guests on this fantastic location.
In advance we had a lot of contact with Alberto (from the location) and Sabrina (from the restaurant) about our dream wedding and literally they thought about (and helped us with) every small detail. They respond also very quick on emails, which is great! Alberto helped us out finding the best photographers, florist, DJ, etcetera. He is the most nice and warm man you have ever met! Unfortunately we had to postpone our wedding from May till August because of Covid, but everybody helped us out with everything.
On Friday afternoon our guests arrived from the Netherlands and we were welcoming them with a glass of sparkling wine of Castello del Trebbio themselves! Later in the afternoon Alberto gave us a castle tour, followed by a great wine tasting in the most amazing tasting room! After this we organised a Lasagne party at the largest villa, where Sabrina and her crew catered the best lasagne!
Saturday was our wedding day. The ceremony took place in the castle, so beautiful! After the ceremony we went to the castle garden to make a toast and enjoy the aperitifs that Sabrina’s team prepared. We crossed the road to the restaurant and enjoyed the most amazing 6 course menu, all cooked with local ingredients and guided with the best wines of Castello del Trebbio. A great shout out to Sabrina and her crew for organizing, everything went very smoothly.
We would recommend this location to everybody without any doubt! They have really treated us like family and we’re looking forward to visit them again soon!

Castello del Trebbio is situated in the middle of a beautifully green and luscious landscape filled with vineyards and medieval villas. The views from the Annex Villa Faltignano are especially striking - the window from the upstairs room overlooks the castle and the view looks like a live painting on the wall. The villas and castle are so peaceful and provide the perfect escape deep in the Tuscan terrain. It is so unique to stay in the villas surrounding a historic 12th century castle, such a memorable experience! Just please be aware that the castle is located far from the city of Florence so prepare transportation, as well as groceries or restaurant reservations, in advance.

My family and I took a tour of Castello Del Trebbio, and it was one of the best things we did during our trip to Italy. To start, we first went on a tour of the wine and olive making facilities, as well as the castle itself. With amazing views from the castle (and even everything inside) the tour was amazing. Next, was the best part with our bestie Chef Jerry. We had a pasta cooking class, where Chef Jerry taught us how to make homemade pasta as well as bolognese and a veggie sauce. Lastly, we then got to try the vineyards wine, and ate the food we made! The wine, the food, the views, the people, all were amazing!! Definitely recommend!!

We got married at Castello del Trebbio recently and 50 of our guests stayed across the venue in the various houses. Every house is AMAZING! So much history and character and yet they have been tastefully renovated so you have everything you could need from coffee machines, beautiful bathrooms, cooking equipment, swimming pools with incredible views, space to socialise on the terrace or eat outside, lounge areas to relax in and incredible views from every window. It's the perfect place to escape reality and I hope to visit every year from now onwards. The staff are very friendly , Alberto was on hand at all hours of the day to help us with the wedding plans and the whole family is so welcoming - you can see that they put a lot of love and care into the Castle and houses. Make sure you rent a car to be able to get around as the supermarket is a 10 minute drive away.

We visited this castle for a wine tasting while on an NCL cruise. The setting is impressive and the history of the site is very interesting. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting and the staff could not have been more kind or warm. The gift shop provided many lovely items for family and friends back home.

Alberto and the team at Castello del Trebbio are magnificent. We stayed the weekend and also participated in the wine tour/tasting and the pasta cooking class with dinner. Alberto led us on what has been our favorite cellar tours and tastings, after having done many throughout France. He provides great learnings on the wine, combined with the history of the castello and the family. Truly a treat. Chef is - delight who helped us craft a great dinner with wine. It was a fun learning, with just the right amount of effort required to capture attention but not have to be too heavy into the learning. Spending time cooking with him was a great way to spend an evening. The apartments are chic and rustic, with stunning views overlooking the castello and orchards. Overall, I’d highly recommend for a weekend away, or even better a week escape with friends or family. Be sure to get a checked bag, or two, for the wine you’ll want to bring on your flight home.
