Mutiara Taman Negara is the only resort in Taman Negara and to reach there you need to cross the river in a boat. The resort is in the National Park itself. The area is huge and they have good spacious rooms. There are pathways build which lead to various places in Taman Negara National Park. So it's the perfect place...

We where given rooms near the restaurant which made it very easy for our older ladies that were travelling with us to get around , the rooms where lovely...

Absolutely love this place. Taman Negara is almost untouched. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. The boat trip to Sungai Tahan is a MUST! It was so mesmerizingly beautiful. The resort were decent and it is within the forest, so u are at one with nature. Love every moment there.

Don, t expect a 5-star resort, you are in the jungle! We spent 3 nights in mutiara and had a lovely stay. We stayed in a wooden hut, with airconditioning and fan which worked excellent. The bathroom was big and clean. The room was also clean but only at the normal places, so don t look under the bed. We...

We spent two nights in this resort. We were accommodated in a separate cottage near the end of the resort. Cottage consisted of an antechamber, bathroom and large living room. In the antechamber there was a rack with hangers, a fridge, a kettle with tea and coffee and free safe. Spacious bathroom with hot water (perfectly functioning), hairdryer, toiletries and...

We spent 3D2N at the resort during 2017 New Year Celebration; and unlucky for us, it was the start of the rainy spell for the area. Me & wifey stayed in a chalet with double bed, while our 3 daughters stayed at one with a double & a single bed. The rooms were adequately furnished & clean albeit slightly seasoned....

Beautiful wooden chalet, clean, with air conditionning and good bathroom (shower). Fantastic location in the middle of the jungle. Opportunity to see monkeys (plenty), hornbills, lézards, and if you go for the night walk other creatures. Good restaurant, convenient store with just what you need on offer. You can organise your tours from there too. Friendly staff. If you visit...

First of all this is a good 3* hotel, it isn't and doesn't claim to be anything else. We booked a 3 night 4 day package directly via the hotel website, and a one way bus transfer from Kuala Lumpur. We feel the need to write this review as our experience does not reflect those in the most recent reviews...

Very basic accommodation, expensive wine and poor food. Absolutely fine for young people though. Do not choose to stay here if you anything but fighting fit. If this is part of a longer holiday and you have quite a bit of luggage, be aware you will have to lift it on and off the boat and on to a jetty,...

Access to the park is tricky if you are not fit - involves getting in and out of small boats with no help and carting your luggage. And a lot of steps when you get there so not suitable for some. But I had been before so knew this. Our room was big and comfortable - but the lighting was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mutiara Taman Negara Resort, PahangDiscover the wonders of an ancient forest at Mutiara Taman Negara. Pitch tent or check-into this forest reserve and bask in the natural surroundings of the Taman Negara park. Mutiara Taman Negara, an eco-tourism Resort that offers a variety of accommodation types promises guests this unique experience with basic amenities and sufficient modern comforts. A virgin jungle expanse covering 4,343 square kilometres, Taman Negara was established in 1939 and is the largest park in peninsular Malaysia reputed to be The Best Kept Tropical Rainforest, thanks to its protected status. With minimal damage to this special ecosystem, Mutiara Taman Negara is dimly lit to avoid scaring off wildlife and conserves energy. Everything used is biodegradable and all the wooden chalet interiors are made of natural produce. Guests at Mutiara Taman Negara will wake to the drone of cicadas, the chirping of bird species new to them and a myriad of other unfamiliar sounds that form a consistent cacophony unique to rainforests. You will begin their adventure at your door step or veranda which makes a perfect perch especially for nocturnal sightings. Sighting wildlife outside the chalet is a norm and the fruit season attracts the most number of wildlife, from the mischievous long tailed macaques, the beautiful chestnut-breasted malkoha and the thorny porcupine to the gentle slow loris. The ancient life forms that blanket Taman Negara are impressive and during each visit, Mutiara Taman Negara gives its visitors the opportunity to glimpse at the flora and fauna species estimated at 10,000 plants, 150,000 insects, 25,000 invertebrates, 675 birds, 270 reptiles, 250 freshwater fish and 200 mammals. Some of the flora and fauna found in Taman Negara are rare or indigenous to this country. If you are not travelling with a group, you can plan your trip to Mutiara Taman Negara well before you arrive or enlist the help of guides at the Park Centre. Things to do at Mutiara Taman Negara include river cruises, guided walks, bird watching, fishing, swimming by waterfalls and night safaris. The world’s longest suspended canopy walk is the most popular activity in this rainforest and you have to be prepared to queue for a while. Secured 40 metres above the forest floor, visitors have a good vantage point from here and if lucky, you can sight some curious animals. The only people who are allowed to hunt and forage are its original inhabitants, the Orang Asli people who still live a nomadic lifestyle. They farm, fish and hunt in the park and nowadays play host to curious visitors armed with flashy cameras. The women may shy away but the men folk can put on a show with some advance notice. Travelling to Mutiara Taman Negara, guests can either do the four hour scenic drive down or board a coach from a designated location in Kuala Lumpur for a 3 hour drive down followed by a 3 hour boat trip down river ... more   less
