Seven of us stayed here for two nights, eating in the restaurant both evenings. The staff were really friendly and helpful, including contacting us after we had left to tell us we had left a necklace behind, and arranged for us to pick it up when we were travelling back through Albert on the Monday when they were closed. The...

Mum has always wanted to visit the Somme so I booked this hotel as its in the heart of the battlefields. It is quaint, clean and very friendly. The staff are warm and welcoming. The food is superb. Even though Mum has limited mobility she managed the stairs which would be my only tiny negative. Well worth a stay x

Although staying in the IBIS, Albert (24 of us!) their restaurant was closed on our second night so we dined at the Basilique where I have been many times before . We had pre-ordered which makes life easier for them and quicker service for us and they produced a superb evening for us. Dishes ranging from Duck, Fois Gras, Entrecote...

A centrally located hotel, right in the CBD of Albert. It is directly opposite the church and trench Museum. The hotel rooms have been tastefully renovated and are very clean and comfortable. The hotel offers free wifi and is within walking distance to all major attractions. If possible, ask for a room at the front to get a view of...

We had stayed at Hotel de la Basilque three years ago with my parents and my uncle and had an amazing stay - the food is outstanding. My Great Uncle was killed in the Battle of the Somme and we had managed to find the field in which he died. We returned to the Somme for the centenary and were...

The room was clean and the bathroom modern. The décor/layout was 1970's but as it was clean that's what mattered to me. The service was good and staff were helpful. Breakfast was VERY continental and although a little basic it offered a good choice with no limit on how much you can eat. For the facilities it is a little...

Stayed for a couple nights at this lovely little hotel in the centre of Albert. Although my friend and I didn't use the restaurant we heard good things. We did make use of the breakfast which was good value even with poor exchange rate. Rooms were well furnished and very clean. The en suite was adequate but could be a...

Ate here last week as part of a party of 8, we booked, and just as well, as it was busy for a Wednesday night, all 8 of us had good, well presented food, they have several menu options, as well as A'la Carte. Portion size was good, and the selection of veg included, was fresh and tasty. There is...

I stayed here with my Father-In-Law for 3 nights. It is in a great position being in the main square in Albert opposite the Basilica with okay bars/cafes in close proximity. Check-in was easy and the evening meal was fantastic. Albert is ideal for visiting the Somme as it is less than 15 minutes to most sites. Altogether a great...

We stayed just one night for a quick visit to the Somme area, based on the review that suggested high quality food and service.. This we can fully endorse. Our evening meal was superb, the range of choice was excellent and we can recommend the menu featuring local specialities. The service was prompt, cheerful and helpful. Very good value for...
