If you're looking for a comfortable, convenient, congenial but unsophisticated base from which to launch birding and hiking forays into the forest, this lodge may be for you. First impressions are of an adult youth-hostel type building, with meals taken at long tables and bedrooms fairly stark but very adequate. Note the owner Joel is proud that there's not a...

Such a great place! Stayed with two friends (who have very exclusive taste) over New Years week. Super place, phenomenal people, gorgeous landscaping, food was incredible (even made us an eco-friendly, delicious box lunch when we had to leave early the next morning). Environment welcomes interaction with other guests, but also gives plenty of space for privacy and quiet time....

Celeste Mountain Lodge is a true gem and not to be missed. My husband and I happened upon it when we were headed to do some hiking in the region. We were only able to stay the night, but plan to go back and stay there for the entire duration of our trip next time. Our host pays attention to...

It rained for three straight days, but we still loved our stay at Celeste Mtn Lodge. The setting up on the side of the mountain is spectacular, with a great garden down below the very comfortable rooms at the lodge. Three meals a day, and the food was great! We hiked up to and back from the entrance to the...

Gorgeous ecolodge. For those looking for extreme luxury, this is not your place, but if you're looking for good comfort, serious ecological standards, a gorgeous view, and delicious food, Celeste Mountain Lodge is wonderful. The rooms are comfortable but not luxurious. The view, though, is spectacular. The lounge and dining areas, full of plants an open to the garden and...

The hotel is in a beautiful setting and the views change by the minute. It's been designed so you can absorb all these with floor to ceiling windows that bring the outside in. We immediately received a warm welcome and Joel took such good care of us. I'd recommend reading the information on how he built the hotel to see...

The room was very nice and comfortable. Nice big windows with screens. Overlooking a beautiful garden. What I like the best was the food. And the way it was served. We were encouraged to meet others by the seating at long tables with benches. Food was described and served in reasonable portions with an option for seconds in some cases...

Great place to stay if you are visiting Tenorio Volcano Park. This lodge is just 5 km away and serves you 3 delicious, always different, meals a day! They only serve 1 dish choice per meal, so it is adventurous dining. We loved it all. Staff were careful to ask if anyone had dietary restrictions, and they would accomodate. Food...

During a two-week trip to Costa Rica my sisters and I spent a couple of days at Celeste Mountain Lodge. Simply put, it was wonderful. We were met at the door by the owner, and from that moment on felt welcome. The food was unique, well-prepared, tasty, and served on palm leaves and in coconut bowls. The rooms were comfortable...

Wonderful place to stay, chill out, look at the great views and delight in the abundant bird life feeding in the surrounding trees and of course the statutory bird feeder, overlooked by the dining room which is provided with a row of stools for all the eager birdwatchers. At night, and early in the morning, glass panels slide across to...

“There is no AC, but with the windows open it cooled off plenty at night during the green season. Small-ish showers with no tubs, which wasn't an issue for us. No pool, which wasn't an issue for us. The room decor was really charming and made of recycled materials in some cases. Very bright and airy. ”
