Castelbrando is one of the largest and oldest castles in Europe, a national monument, located in Cison di Valmarino, one of the beautiful villages of Italy which is immersed in the hills of Prosecco, a Unesco World Heritage Site, halfway between Venice and the Dolomites. After careful and impressive restoration works, the magnificent building has regained all its ancient splendour, transforming itself into a refined four-star hotel with a Dependance located downhill, a modern wellness center housed in the oldest wing of the castle, an informal restaurant, an elegant restaurant reservable for private banquets where breakfast is served, bar, as well as a panoramic lift and heliport. Those who choose CastelBrando seek the exclusivity and uniqueness of the structure, experiencing overnight stays in the characteristic rooms that once housed the Salesian monks, or in the elegant rooms that welcomed illustrious personalities such as Dante, Casanova, Da Ponte and the Queen of Cyprus, just to name a few. Today these rooms, furnished with period furniture, offer all the necessary comforts to fully immerse yourself in the charm of history and dream of being, at least for one day, nobles, princes or princesses.

A beautiful hotel! What I liked most was conservation, the history of the place and the beautiful landscape and garden.
One factor that surprised me was the logistics of taking the bags to the room. There was no charger and the rooms were very far away, with walks, ramps, rugs that got tangled in the suitcase wheels and two elevators!! A real trip….
It also surprised me that they didn't replenish breakfast, there were 5 of us and there was a lack of bread (they only had it in shape) sometimes there were 3 slices of ham, 3 slices of turkey breast. On the last day, there wasn't even American coffee... there's never anyone there for you to ask someone about, at breakfast... I also thought the room was very small.
The hotel restaurant was very good! A Brazilian guy who works there, also super polite and helpful. He did everything he could to help us, since we were with older people who couldn't carry their bags to the room which was very far away and a real journey to get there...
Those who have a lot of suitcases or older people can find it very complicated.

I got to spend Christmas in the Castle as part of a tour I was doing. Just driving up to the Castle was thrilling, as it sits high up and so can be seen for quite a distance. You get to the Castle by a funicular, and then a pretty steep walk to a very grand entrance. My mobility is not great but I managed ok. My room was gorgeous, very much in keeping with the idea of being in a castle. The food was sensational (and plentiful) and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was the prefect mix of glamour and comfort. A very memorable and special Christmas!

My husband and I spent the most amazing eight days at CastelBrando. We were joined for the last five days by four friends, because we really wanted them to experience with us this beautiful real castle, where you can go through history, while enjoying all the confort the most modern hotels would offer. Everything is beyond perfect at CastelBrando, the building, the rooms, breakfast and dinner spaces, service and food... Nevertheless, what makes it even more special, if this is at all possible, is the staff. Everybody is friendly, efficient, ready to help. What I really need to say is a huge thank you to the team at the Front Office Department. Each one of them found a way to offer us this extraordinary experience: they helped us get three beautiful rooms, adding two of them at my last minute request, they solved our transfer needs, for our visits they recommended us the marvellous Pierina, they even managed to find our prosecco glasses we had lost (too happy with our Prosecco tour experience to take care of them)... Thank you, everybody, and Congratulation!

Coming back to this facility is always an immense pleasure. The charm of times gone by and the history that exudes from every detail and place brings back unique emotions. The structure is in constant movement, in addition to the splendid suites and the general location, a unique wellness center has been in operation since last year, with first-rate spaces and logistical structures. Thanks to Mrs. Ivana Casagrande, who manages the structure with passion and diligence, together with exquisitely kind and professional staff, ready to satisfy every guest's need.

Beautiful castle reached by funicular, where you can admire the view of the whole valley. It is equipped with hotel, ice cream bar and restaurant... To refresh we went to the Gelateria "Via Claudia". We found a girl (dark-haired, tall, young) who was very kind and helpful. She welcomed us with a smile and advised us in choosing the best tastes, without making us feel a burden. The service was fast and efficient despite some turnout. It was ensured that all customers were served as quickly as possible, without sacrificing the quality or presentation of the ice cream. This ice cream shop is a real gem. I highly recommend trying it if you are in the castle. You won’t be disappointed!!!

Last Saturday I used the recently expanded Princess Spa with my boyfriend. Perfect and clean, very pleasant, the only thing is that charging 60 euros per person for 3 hours I find it excessive. Now that he is older, the shift is too short so you are unable to use all the services in relaxation. It would be very useful to extend the time. Friendly staff.

We experienced a fairytale wedding in a lovely place with excellent food and staff
friendly and professional, all organized excellently by Brunella and coordinated to perfection by the impeccable Carlo. All guests felt comfortable in a regal and elegant atmosphere. Highly recommended if you want to live your wedding at the top.

We spent the Easter weekend in this sixteenth-century castle. The very kind and knowledgeable staff welcomed us very well, the rooms were a bit of a sore point as they had a very small bathroom and no bidet, and the room was not very large. The restaurant is well stocked and very pleasant. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful in choice. The spa is definitely superb for its choice of services and space, one of the best views. In conclusion a really nice place to relax.

1st We had a tour with the guide and she has given a great information about castel history and followed by the apertivo and dinner. Chef luca has created a wow dinner and his culinary team has done the fantastic dishes.
Mariana and her colleagues did the service for the dinner. Both of them has provided top notched service. If you visit castel brando meet chef Luca, and get the service from mariana you will feel so happy and excited.

Thank you so much for everything ❤️!

I celebrated my wedding inside the castle, we were all exceptionally satisfied with the location, the service and the cuisine. Wonderful and efficient staff. I would also like to leave super positive feedback to Mrs. Brunella, who was our guide throughout and respected all our agreements as expected. Thanks again, for making our day memorable.

Closest airport is probably Venice-Treviso or Venice Marco Polo. The rest -I am unable to answer as we had a car.

The pool is part of the 'wellness centre' so I believe the minimum age is 17 or 18. You can check by looking on the hotel website and going to the SPA information. Hope this helps your planning.
