Wonderful people and service.

We had a small economy room which was perfect for us. It was facing the road but we didn’t have any issues with noise and we’re both light sleeper’s.

It’s fairly central to everything and the shower has so much water pressure it was AMAZING.

My wife and I booked this motel because we had an early flight at Gold Coast Airport. When we checked in, we were presented with a breakfast basket full of goodies. The motel room was good except that the wash basin (sink) was too small, so inevitably some water splashed out. The other disadvantage was that the office closed after 5 pm. However if you inform the motel in advance that you will be checking in after 5 pm, you will be given a number to get your room key from the key box.

Absolutely loved this place! Fantastic price and super clean rooms. Very generous breakfast included & mini bar items reasonably priced & stocked. We were well informed of our booking by the owners and nothing was too much trouble for them. You can actually walk to the airport from this place & the beach is at the end of the street ( nice touch with the beach towels & basket) I will definitely be recommending this place to all of our visitors to the Gold Coast

My stay at La Costa couldn’t have been any better! I was so generously met at the airport before being delivered to a little piece of retro paradise on the Gold Coast. The room was fitted out beautifully with lots of thoughtful touches and the free bike rental was an absolute highlight! Fabulous location, incredible accommodation and the most delightful team. Thank you 🙏

La Costa is a beautifully restored beachside boutique motel a short walk (200m) from the beach. The rooms are a great size and have a well equipped small galley kitchenette making longer stays and nights in possible. The rooms are very comfortable and spotless, and very tastefully decorated in a beachside 60s theme. The owners Di and John provide personalised hospitality and have passionately restored and maintained the property. They are available on the property at a moment's notice and delight in providing recommendations for the local area. While staying on a babymoon recently my wife and I visited Mountview Alpaca Farm and ORielleys Vineyard in the Scenic Rim, we swam and hired paddleboards at Currumbin Boathouse, we walked and swam and did some local shopping. Local restaurant recommendations are Tupe Aloha, the Justin's Pizza, Mervin Roys (brekky) and the famous Earth and Sea Pizza. We wish we could have stayed longer. Whether you're after a stopover or a week or two at the beach, the La Costa is perfect. Thanks Di and John, we hope to see you again soon with our new little baby next time.

The light green, pink and cream exterior of this modernised classic motel perfectly reflects its calm, clean and friendly accommodation. Diane and John have listened to past visitors and added amenities to meet their needs. We benefited from a well stocked mini fridge, microwave, breakfast basket and beach towels. The location is within walking distance from the airport (though we happily accepted a lift back to the airport) and only one block from the beach. Diane was friendly and fun, providing us with things we’d forgotten, sun cream and adaptors, and offering local information and a bookmark. We were surprised to discover the delights of the area from the local coffee shop to Sunday afternoon music at the local surf club. Hope we’ll be able to return one day....good luck Diane and John.

A 20 hour visit left me feeling renewed, relaxed and keen to return. Cycled, swam, walked, ate and slept well.

The beach is riiight there, sparkling and so clean! Fish galore.

The room was airy, clean and fresh. Everything needed was supplied to a very high standard.

Manager Di is a good communicator: really relaxed and clear. The wifi worked.

I feel like I've travelled back to the Gold Coast of the sunny 60s.

The brochures hardly do it justice. All that was missing was a Holden FJ!

Other reviews are spot on - great place for its location, room facilities (best and most useful mini-bar, including decent snacks that can act as dinner substitutes) and such friendly owners. I stayed 3 nights and found the access to key roads quick and easy and beachside walks a great way to relax. Surprisingly quiet given its location.

Wow what a fabulous little hotel! We loved our stay here, especially the free retro bikes to ride along the coast walkway. The way this hotel has been so classically restored is great, the colours, the history retained in the pictures. Also a complimentary breakfast & Exceptional customer service

Hi, La Costa motel is situated near ocean coast. So, in the summer it is a nice place to stay for a week, but now in winter time water is too cold to swim in the ocean and it's raining often. It's better to go to Brisbane. It is a big and interesting city (bus stop to train to Brisbane is near La Costa motel, you can get to Brisbane easy from this place).

A couple of little corner style shops in walking distance, but Tugan and Kirra are very accessible, and good, by local bus in Golden Four Drive.

Hi Charlotte, Catch the train to Varsity Lakes Station and the 760 bus that will stop 50m from the motel. The 700 bus travels up and down the Gold Coast and leaves every 10 minutes. You can buy your daily travel cards ($10.00) at the motel if that helps (or a Go card at the train station). Hope that helps. Diane
