What a shame, this place is very picturesque, in a quiet location, but sadly not one to visit if the temperature is above 20 degrees. I asked the owner for a fan as there is no air conditioning, his reply was a stern NO. "I work 18 hours a day and find the temperature confortable." Well good for you but...

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while exploring the sights in Narboone and Carcassonne. The proprietor was very welcoming as was Jeff the dog !! The proprietor also was very obliging and ready to give advice about the surrounding sights. The room was comfortable and very clean. The setting of this hotel was quite rural being surrounded by...

We stayed here for a couple of nights on a half board basis. The owner was very welcoming and provided all the information we needed. Our room was well equipped and serviced but a little on the small and dark side. We very much enjoyed the two dinners we had; they were well presented and offered interesting options. The table...

This place isn't really a hotel. It is more of a bed and breakfast that also serves supper - and a very good (if not cheap) supper it is too. The owners are charming and attentive as are all the staff. On the downside, a) the hotel is next to a road, and a well used road, so lying by...

We have stayed at this hotel twice, during touring holidays. M. Gonzalvez and his wife have restored the buildings to a very high standard. The rooms are charming and the food superb. The owners are very welcoming and happy to practice their English to be helpful, if needed. We found the Abbaye de Fontfroide well worth visiting. Our stay has,...

Just stayed one night as we were travelling through but found this place enchanting. The owner couldn't have been more welcoming and the dog Jeff is clearly a legend. We paid extra for a room with a private terrace and it allowed us to really relax before our evening meal under the stars - a very enjoyable meal that we...

My husband and I arrived upon Le relais du Val d'Orbieu by accident. We had decided to go on a trip without an agenda...just for giggles....and stop wherever we felt like stopping. The welcoming committee at le Relais consists of the owners, Mr and Mrs Gonzalvez and Jeff their beautiful yellow lab. The rooms are beautiful, the restaurant lovely. The...

My husband and I are enchanted by le Relais du Val d'Orbieu. The owners are incredibly nice people. Mrs Gonzalvez decorated the Relais and it is truely beautiful and serene. Mr Gonzalvez is the perfect host. Their dog Jeff, a big yellow lab, is part of the welcoming committee and everybody loves him. Their chef, a 30 year old man...

We have stayed at this hotel several times both with and without children. The location is fabulous although the cars on the nearby road are often moving very fast. The owner is helpful and friendly and Jeff (his Labrador), is good with children and great to hang out with. The food is great; I especially like the way that the...

We stayed here for 4 days as part of a touring holiday in Languedoc. I'm afraid the days seemed long ones. Partly this was because the weather was disappointing and my husband wasn't very well - neither of which, of course, was the hotel's fault. But the accommodation was a disappointment too. We'd booked and paid for a 'superior' room...
