The room was a decent size for Iceland and it had a nice shower and was very clean. However, it was quite noisy and the beds were not very comfortable. The breakfast was good but quite a limited selection.

We arrived on the peninsula in the midst of terrible winds and horrible fog. The visibility was maybe 25 ft ahead of us and we were only staying for the one night in Grundarfjordur so it is with great sadness that we did not actually get to "see" any of the peninsula. In fact, we never even laid eyes on...

We stayed here during our 11 days Iceland vacation. This was the most expensive hotel room during our stay in Iceland. For €150 per night, the room was too small, and didn't look like it was meant for double occupancy at all. We didn't have any view and the it was just barley adequate as a hotel. It is clean,...

This is the main hotel in Grundarfjordur, and has a number of annexes in the town. We stayed in the one conveniently above the local pizzeria. There is parking available. The area is famous for the rock formation nearby and also whale watching. We stayed here en route around Iceland before taking the ferry across to the Highlands. The room...

Very basic but stylish room suitable for a short stay. It's situation right next to the coast amongst spectacular scenery including Kirkjufell, makes it a prime spot. Restaurant, hot tub and sauna only add to the pleasures available. Food pretty good, 3 course set menu , 4,500 Icelandic kroner.

We had a great room on the top floor overlooking the water and Kirkjufell. The room was very nicely appointed and spacious with a good size bathroom. We found the room to be very quiet. The bed is tucked away in an alcove which means that it is nice and dark in the morning - a good thing in a...

Hotel Framnes is recommendable only because it's decent and about the only place around. On the plus side, it's very clean and the prices are lower than the other places we stayed in Iceland. Minuses include thin walls, fried fish smell from the restaurant kitchen, disinterested staff. Unacceptable: having to carry heavy luggage up and down 2 flights of stairs.

I stayed 2 nights at Framnes. The hotel is 5 minutes driving from Kirkjufell Mountain, which is perfect. We were very tired from a long flight and a long drive from Keflavik, but managed to take a million of pictures of Kirkjufell. The next morning we drove around Snaefellsnes Peninsula, we circled the entire peninsula, had lunch at hotel budir,...

We were here as part of a tour package. Rooms were small, think closet. Bathrooms were smaller, think cruise ship. Beds were really small - think back to summer camp! Still,a place to sleep (fitfully) in a quaint village that we would not have otherwise seen. The highlight here was going out on a fishing boat to see the migratory...
