Elsa is great!
Elsa is great! What a wonderfull host she is. She can advise you on all the hikes in the area and gives a really personal service. She even gave us cake and bananas as a lunch on our long day hike :-). Our room was beautiful and very clean. Breakfast is good value and the area is calm and quiet. I would recommend staying in Elsa's house to everyone who wants to visit and hike in this area.

Superb overnight stop.
Stayed one night only with a group of cyclists during May just before our climb up to Torre at 2000 metres the following day. Very comfy rooms, Swiss chalet style. Attentive host Elsa looked after us well and arranged local restaurant for us. Breakfast superb.

Great stay in Manteigas with Elsa
Elsa was really welcoming and immediately gave us recommendations on what to do/where to eat in the area. We had a small twin room, not ideal for a couple, but it had everything we needed. I loved the rock that came out of our bathroom wall! Bathroom was quite small. Room was clean. Breakfast was good with local products, but not exceptional. Parking spot in front of the house. Great to visit different spots in the beautiful park of Serra da Estrella. Very green surroundings. Not easy to reach without a car.
