Very welcoming and helpful
The hotel is very clean and excellent value. The two brothers who run it were always joking with us and were always on hand to help with any issues.We needed to but motorway toll cards and they did this for us on the hotel computer. The food is excellent as well

Peaceful hotel with a family feel in a great location
We picked this hotel primarily for the pool, which was a big plus, but we were blown away by the warmth of the staff and the location, with great views from the restaurant over the nearby town. The restaurant itself aims a little higher than most in the area - can't remember the last time I had a bottle of wine decanted - and the food is fine, with a solid breakfast offer as well although I had a taste of the coffee from the dispenser and it was pretty grim. Was surprised to find that our second floor room didn't have a small fridge, which is pretty standard elsewhere, but it was functional and featured a roomy balcony.

Trek in Serra da Estrella
We hiked - a family of 6, at the beginning of August 2019, in the beautiful Sera de strella trek, totaling 105 km in seven days, the views are beautiful and special. we recommend doing this trek in May June or September October and avoid the hot summer months. During the trek, we stayed three-night at the hotel berne in the picturesque town of Mantiagas, it is a three-star hotel very cozy, clean and beautiful, it has a small swimming pool,and friendly staff that are very happy to help with any questions and requests, highly recommended.

Lovely hotel
We stayed at Hotel Berne for 3 nights. The staff were very friendly, especially the two brothers, they were always joking with the kids. The hotel is clean and the beds are very comfortable. The pool is great with breathtaking views. Perfect for our road trip of Portugal.
