The Woolshed Hotel Nungarin was built in 1927 and is one of the original Kalgoolie Brewery Hotels still standing and in original state. The hotel offers bar, restaurant and accommodation of yester year and a beautiful beer garden for outdoor functions or just to relax in a tranquil setting.

The Woolshed hotel was a friendly and enjoyable stay over. Genuine country hospitality and very friendly staff. The menu is very suitable to the location and the meals well prepared and a generous serve. The hotel is impeccably clean and has been renovated. Highly recommend it! Our group of six friends had comfortable rooms, a serve yourself breakfast which was a good choice of options and Wi-Fi was included.

The old tavern has been extensively renovated and has not lost any of its character. Dining room, lounge area and bar has a good homely feel. The hosts are very hard working and the service was great. Bar food was good. Good location to base exploration of the surrounding area, such as military museum, granite outcrop nature reserves, and salt lakes. The ablutions are shared facilities but these are very clean, the bedroom was a bit small and the bed a bit short for my 6ft frame.

Our booking at this pub was done in the early afternoon ready for the evenings meal. On arrival we ordered drinks and all sat outside in the alfresco area awaiting our meals, which were brought out a couple at a time for our group of around 30 people, each one being deliciously presented and tasty to boot. It was well worth waiting for!!

Have you ever seen the series 'The Thornbirds' ? Remember the station house, Drogheda ? Well, staying in The Woolshed is like being catapulted back into the series. What a delightful place to stay at. The building is almost 1 century old and is maintained with a lot of TLC. Rooms are so very beautiful (and comfortable) and decorated in the spirit of the era of the building. Downstairs, in the local pub, you can get a meal and a shandy if you fancy one. The owner is very friendly and helpful. What a true gem, tucked away in the little Nungarin.

Wonderfully restored country pub, ideal for an over night stay.
The rooms are fully renovated and very comfortable with quality fittings, the bathrooms are shared but are also clean comfortable.
Meals are great and served in a magnificent traditional hotel dinning room.
The bar was a good but was understaffed due to current conditions.
It has a fantastic beer garden at the back of the property.

We decided to stay here for a night stopover on the way to Kalgoorlie. The couple that run it have done significant renovations to the hotel, and it has all the charm of a country pub. There is still some work that needs to be done but the couple that run it were very hospitable and certainly made us feel very welcome.
Somewhere different and worth a go. You won't be disappointed.

We organised a memorial for a much-loved family member at this wonderful old pub. We really appreciated the warm welcome and enthusiastic hosting despite giving only last minute notice.
Nothing was too much trouble, the food generous, beer cold and gardens very well designed and maintained.
We stayed over in the grand rooms which have been upgraded with modern touches without losing and of the old world charm.

My beautiful grandfather’s farm was at Kununoppin and Nungarin. This break we were en route to Kalgoorlie and husband booked us in here for a night. Very sentimental. Last time the place (especially the Hotel) we’re very sad. So glad we did. Beautiful restoration of the actual hotel itself. Glorious polished jarrah floorboards etc. Delightful hosts who made us feel very welcome. Sympathetic furnishings as well as historical information offered. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing local farmers coming in for a drink. Food extremely generous. Breakfast equally do. No hot food but everything else offered. Thanks so much for a fantastic experience. My mother would have loved it. I look forward to returning. Muchly appreciated. Incidentally we visited my great grandparents grave in Coolgardie. What a hard life but what marvellous people they produced.

Fantastic stay , this would be best pub in district with renovated rooms, bathrooms are shared but are well kept.
Great meals and service and the bar serves ice cold Swan, the dinning room is amazing.
A fantastic beer garden is a added bonus.
This would be the best pub in the district.

I rode a bicycle the 40 km from Merredin specifically to visit Nungarin and experience the small town atmosphere of Western Australia. Coming here and staying at the Woolshed Hotel could not have been a better choice. The hotel has a warm and friendly atmosphere especially due to the fact that the locals come to the pub for drinks and excellent food. The rooms, shared bathrooms, tv area and dining room are all very comfortable and the choices offered at the continental breakfast were excellent. I would not hesitate to return to The Woolshed again if not just to hang out in the pub again and chat with the friendly locals. My trip to Nungarin and stay at the Woolshed made my first visit to Australia an unforgettable experience. Special thanks to Laurie, Carolyn, Phil and Adam! :)
