The place was just amazing, so peaceful, we looooved it. Maulie and her team were so good, and so helpful. The food was exquisite! If you are looking for a change of scenery, slightly remote location or just enjoy the peace and quiet this is the right place. Its also conveniently located close to many sightseeing area and Maulie has...

No walls, down a long bumpy road, built from scrap metal & wood. If you are set in your ways and cannot cope with the unexpected this place is not for you. If you want to experience something very different then spending 2 or 3 nights here for local walks and seeing Sigiriya; eating fantastic vegetarian food (amongst the best...

This place consists of a few wooden chalets in a forest area next to a lake. A lovely peaceful area, the chalet is comfortable with a good view. The food was good and the people were friendly and helpful. In the early morning we could walk down to the lake and watch the birds.

This Forest Lodge is such a wonderful place! Maulie has been a great host and our new found friends made it better. For dinner, the best sri lankan food was served and we enjoyed it to the very last bit. The room that we had was great. Just above a stream and the view is fantastic. A mosquito net was...

Wow what a fabulous experience. Magical place to stay. A place made of recycled material and architecturally built. On the 2nd level with no windows as such. Just window spaces. A big mosquito net for the bed. A beautiful place and well worth a visit. At the end of the day a magnificent and delicious meal is served. Buffalo curd...

My husband and I spent two nights at Galkadawala Forest Lodge and found the place breathtaking upon arrival. The open-air feel of each structure and room allows you to feel at one with nature while still giving you a sense of 'luxury.' Our room was quite large with an attached bathroom that had that hottest water and most amazing water...

This is our sort of place. Pure magic. Pure connection with nature - our room had no windows and the night sounds were wonderful. Really enjoyed the vegetarian food too served at communal table; don't think they serve alcohol. Had to remember to stow things away in the room so that the monkeys did not access. Very romantic - one...

Maulie and her team have created a very special place, an eco lodge with wonderful home cooking set in lovely countryside. It's near a lot of the cultural triangle attractions, but there's a lot close to home. Wonderful bird life, a tank on your doorstep, tranquillity and fantastic hospitality. Maulie is also a brilliant arranger of transport, suggestions and support....

One of teh best places we stayed in Sri Lanka as an amazing location set by the Tank, but the whole place is done so well, amazing architecture blending in with the surroundings using recycled materials, while giving a sense of luxury while being open to the elements. Maulie is a most welcoming host and be sure to spend some...
