Stayed 1 night and was impressed. Room on level 3 was spacious and toilets and sheets were clean. Breakfast was in a nice restaurant and setup with a variety. Reception was helpful and polite all the time. SPA was huge but prob when we went at 7pm there was no staff...pool was not heated but just nice for a swim....

We spent four nights at Goldener Ochs in September 2016. We travelled to Bad Ischl by train. The hotel is about 750 meters from the train station... so since it was a nice day, and the terrain was paved and flat, we decided walk to the Hotel. If you'd rather take a taxi, they are available at the train station...

We had a nice (short stay) and mostly enjoyed the hotel. The location is great. Our room was spacious, and we appreciated having bathrobes to go to the spa. The bed was comfortable, if a bit low. I also liked having a separate bathroom and toilet. The first floor lounge is indeed very nice. The spa is as well, with...

Had a short but very relaxing stay at Hotel Goldener Ochs . Very central located in the town, reasonable price with efficient staff . A very good spa which was first rate, most enjoyable . The room was of a good size and really had everything what you would expect. Well worth the visit .

So the restaurant is outstanding--one of the best we have found for traditional Austrian food. The room was very comfortable (no air conditioning, but fortunately we didn't need it). Great location! Everything was clean; everything worked; the staff was helpful and friendly. But one thing struck us as odd and unpleasantly inconvenient. The toilet is in a separate room--o.k., that's...

The Goldener Ochs hotel, situated next to the River Traun, is a very comfortable and well-run hotel. Our room was average size, pleasant and quiet. The wifi did not work in the room but was fine in the first floor lounge which is a very attractively decorated sitting area in traditional style. The restaurant offers well priced meals which are...

I stayed here with my girlfriend one weekend and had a fantastic time. We visited to region and went hiking, while staying here, which was great due to the good location of this hotel. Very close to the Katrin mountain and not far from Hallstatt, Altausse and the Dachstein. The meals here were great. Dinner was a 5 course meal,...

We were there as a couple for one night on our way to Hallstatt. Our plan was to have a relaxing spa stay and this hotel has its own wellness facilities, so we could just spend our entire stay indoors. Our room was clean and spacious. We were provided bath robes and plenty of towels. We arrived in the afternoon...

Stumbled on to this fine hotel. Great set up with indoor pool, several saunas and wellness stations that were well maintained, clean and satisfying. Plenty of towels are a big plus. Breakfast was delightful as were the dinners. Monika at the front office was helpful and just a pleasure to deal with. Christmas decor showed the attention to detail that...

I had a pleasant stay at the Goldener Ochs a few weeks ago. The single room was clean and comfortable, with a partial view of the river and town beyond. The hotel is quite close to the bus/rail stations, in that it’s probably a 10 minute roll of the suitcase, through the main street (passing a small Billa if you...
