Macau Sofitel Stay

This was a very pleasant stay away from the main Casino district (Taipa) in Macau, and our family loved it. Here are a few highlights:

After booking, I sent an email to the hotel, but there was no reply for 48 hours.

When inquired through Trip.com, despite the booking being with Club Millesime, the initial response was that there was no access to the lounge. However, upon further inquiry, lounge access was confirmed (it felt like an obligation).

Reaching the hotel by taxi from HZMB port is approximately a 30-minute ride costing 120 HKD. Upon arrival, we found that the hotel offers a bus service from the port every 30 minutes—details of which were missing on their website.

The check-in experience was smooth with no delays or unnecessary questions.

A pleasant surprise was the level of English-speaking staff at the hotel. We always found someone to talk to and get the required information.

Club Millesime (Lounge - L17) is available for food three times a day: Afternoon High Tea, Late Evening Happy Hours, and Morning Breakfast. Though the food options are limited (especially for vegetarians), we found the lounge enjoyable.

The lounge had about 30% of the items available at the restaurant breakfast.

We were initially worried about vegetarian options, but to our surprise, there were plenty to choose from. While the Indian dishes like Naan and Daal weren't the best, they were still acceptable.

We explored the old city opposite the hotel in the afternoon, and it was a wonderful experience. We visited the Fort and Wall and possibly some of the best narrow streets in the world.

The rooms were good, offering comfortable sleep and nice TV options, though the TV speakers were poor while watching movies.

Sofitel is working hard on environmental initiatives, which is evident throughout the room. There are no plastic bottles, no loose items for toothpaste, lotion, shampoo, comb, etc.

The morning breakfast at L6 was good with a wide spread, and many items were fresh. During the holiday period, you may need to wait for a while. There were a few vegetarian options for breakfast.

I also enjoyed the fried rice and noodles available at breakfast.

During the holiday season, it took a while to get a table due to the crowd. I wish they had extended the seating time to accommodate the high number of guests.

The checkout process was very easy.

My family and I checked into the hotel on the 12th floor on August 2nd. The housekeeper named Bryan is really kind and attentive. The room is kept very clean every day. He is kind and courteous to the guests and responds to their requests. I have an elderly person who often asks for towels to be changed and tea bags to be added. Distilled water. In addition, because I have a mysophobia, I have been asked to change the pillowcases of all the beds in the room every day for a few days. I personally feel embarrassed and it is a bit excessive, but they did not tire of it and made us happy. The feeling of being a VIP makes this trip more complete☺️👍
I will choose this hotel next time I come to Macau!
I would like to use this text to give some praise to him and the hotel!

I visited in November with a 1-year-old baby and stayed in the executive room. When my family arrived in the lobby, the staff confirmed my name and escorted me to the executive lounge on the 17th floor. When I tried to check in, Kyle and Russell told me that if I was enjoying afternoon tea with my family in the lounge, they would check me in. Thanks to them, my family was able to start an enjoyable trip to Macau watching the grand lisboa. My baby is so young that she often drops her food or fork. So we were worry when we visit the executive lounge. However, this place was unlike any other place. Ann, Doris, and Claudia were meticulous to ensure that my baby and I fully enjoyed afternoon tea and happy hour, and immediately prepared something new as soon as my baby dropped any food or utensils. Also, they waited nearby to talk to my baby so she wouldn't get tired of it while we were eating. I went to many five-star hotels with my baby, but this was the first time I had such a humane hospitality. Thank you again to the Sofitel staff for giving my family the best experience.

Sofitel at Ponte 16 comes highly recommended for its exceptional service, with many guests commending the staff for their friendly and efficient manner. Especially to Ms. Jasmine from the front desk who took care of my booking. Thank you very much!

My stay here exceeded my expectations. I was upgraded to a beautiful MJ mansion and had a little birthday cake delivered for me in my room. The sauna, jacuzzi and KTV bar really amazed me. Awesome!

The service by the filipino staff was incredible. He was there to deliver my requests quickly. He made sure I had everything I needed and was very polite and friendly. All staff at this hotel did an outstanding job and I am just so impressed with everything. They pay attention to the smaller details and the room includes everything you could possibly need and more. The cleanliness of the hotel is another standout feature, with travelers consistently acknowledging the well-kept rooms and public spaces.

Thank you to the wonderful team at Sofitel Macau, I can't wait to come visit again.

Sofitel lunch buffet, their staff so nice! From the long elevator to the Sofitel Hotel, I feel that the decoration is brilliant, and the instructions of the restaurant are also very clear! It is very convenient and quick to find the location of the buffet. Every time after eating, the waiter helps to clean up the dishes and chopsticks quickly. Very good and satisfied.

A group of six people had lunch at the Macau Sixteen Pulu Xuanhua. The environment of this restaurant is indeed very attractive! The place is spacious and bright, with large glass windows, so we can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Macau while dining, which is a real pleasure.

Let’s start with two dishes: 15-year-old tangerine peel honey-glazed barbecued pork ~ semi-fat and lean barbecued pork, sweet and delicious, soft and delicious, with a chewy texture;

Crispy-skinned roast goose made using ancient methods - plump and thick meat, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The meat is fresh and smooth, fragrant and delicious.

Each person chooses a dim sum of his own~ oyster barbecued pork buns, original dragon shrimp dumplings, shrimp and crab roe siomai, seafood dumplings with assorted mushrooms and scallops, flavored sausage rolls, and Guima Zhitu roasted treasure rolls. Each dim sum has its own characteristics. It's delicious, but I like the Guima Zhi Dou Bao Roll the most, it's crispy and chewy.

After finishing the snack, I ordered braised tofu and pork belly. The braised tofu was fried very fragrant, and the pork belly was just right. It was steaming hot when served, doubling the flavor.

Xiang Ge’s Fujian Risotto is a dish with plenty of ingredients. All the ingredients are fresh and the taste is very clear. It is suitable for all ages.

In general, all the food is steaming hot when served on the counter, which represents the freshness, deliciousness and care of the chef.

After a lovely experience at the Sofitel Dubai Downtown last year, we were really looking forward to our 03 night stay here. I had specifically booked a river facing room with the Club Millesime service with certain expectations but I must say that this hotel fell short of it.

We landed at Hong Kong and then took the bus from the HKIA to Macau via the HKZM Bridge. We then took the complimentary hotel shuttle from the Macau border to the hotel and we were surprised that we had to handle our luggage ourselves while boarding the bus and shockingly had to remove our luggage ourselves from the bus on reaching the hotel porch. It is only once you enter the hotel lobby that the team will offer help. I found this to be ridiculous for a hotel of this star rating.

The check-in was smooth at the Club Millesime Lounge and the rooms was pretty decent. I personally found the room and especially the bathroom to be much smaller that the standard size in other hotels. The Buffet breakfast spread is mostly suited to the local taste and other than eggs, there were no options for foreign guests. Another thing we noticed is that they are in a super hurry to clear the buffet as soon as the time is up which I found odd. For the limited time we spent in the hotel as we were mostly out exploring the city; service is not very friendly and you require to demand basic service at times like water in the restaurant. We personally did not find the staff very courteous friendly or approachable.

Another heads up for foreign guests is that there is no bidet in the washrooms which can be inconvenient. This is really something that the hotel must consider implementing.

Except for the separate check-in & check-out at the Club Millesime Lounge, there was nothing special we experienced at this hotel for the price paid.

We stayed in a river front room (city view is probably more interesting) and the room was very spacious, comfortable and of quality. One of the best beds I have slept on. The buffet breakfast was amazing. So much to choose from, and the quality was exceptional. Also took advantage of the Club Millésime which provided great evening meals, drinks and service. The spa was also excellent. All around, I have nothing to complain about, I am just grateful to the great staff who made my stay so pleasant. Location is a tough one. It really depends on what you want to do and see. For me, I really liked the location, as it was close to the authentic old town and an easy walk to most sights. Taxi to other parts of the island was easy and not expensive. However, if you want to be close to the casino hustle and bustle, you may not like the location. Overall, as an ALL member, I found the inclusions and service exceptional, and it really resembles what one would expect if staying at a SOFITEL.

Hi Natalie, yes. I arrived by ferry from HKIA and when you get off the ferry there are loads of signs directing you to shuttle stops for your hotel. Almost every hotel will have free shuttles and you just need to look for the hotel sign for shuttle. A bit of a walk though along a long cover walkway to get to the little shuttle bus. The Sofitel bus is a purple minibus.
