I just arrived in Manila after a week long trip to Macau where I stayed at the Pousada Marina Infante. On a budget, someone booked the hotel for me. Reading reviews about the hotel, however, I had second thoughts about the booking. Banish those thoughts. What others say is an "old" hotel has to be placed in proper context. Pousada sits right in front of the Diamond Wing of the Galaxy and of course, pales by comparison. If I stayed at the Galaxy however, I would have paid 5-6 times more! Otherwise, Posada is fairly new by international standards. It's definitely newer than the Waldorf in New York.

Most hotels in this part of Taipa in Macau were built in the last 10-15 years. Anything older by 15, is "older" by comparison. So its a matter of context. I expected musty rooms - what I got was a spacious bright room that was very roomy compared to the one I got in Hong Kong. The young front desk staff were very helpful. I requested for a room facing the Galaxy and got one. When I came back from Hong Kong to check in again, the rooms facing the Galaxy were fully booked, but the guy at front desk asked me to wait and sorted it out for me. I got my request. Pousada is definitely a four star hotel. What it provides is convenience of access to three destination hotels in Macau. From my vantage point at Room 929, I could see a straight line from Galaxy, to Venetian Macau to City of Dreams. One walks into the Diamond Lobby of the Galaxy, exit the east lobby and land into the West Lobby of the Venetian. From Venetian, you can walk straight to its back lobby to City of Dreams. Very convenient indeed. You can just walk if its not very hot.
Breakfast is decent though noisy because of the chattering Chinese tourists who seem to be shouting all the time. The rooms are quiet, though. There's a shuttle that takes one anywhere in Taipa and to the ferry, though not as frequently as the Galaxy shuttle, which is just a fifty meter walk. I used the galaxy shuttle a lot. If you want to stay connected, there's no wifi but I got a 100 pataka CTM Sim card which was just enough for my stay. On the whole, Pousada Marina Infante was an excellent gateway to the three top destination hotel-casinos in Macau and to Macau itself It was convenient, better-than-decent, and cost effective.

Hotel is located on Taipa Island which is connected to the main island of Macau by bridge. It is 4 star quality.Hotel is 15 mins away from airport and taxi charges about MOP35 (USD6)to get to the hotel eventhough meter states mop 25 but sum is pretty negligible. Hotel is located righ opposite to the Galaxy hotel casino which is an even more expensive hotel...5 or 6 star. The rack price for Pousada Infante Marina Macau is HKD1,900. The internet price we received was about less than HKD400 per night plus it was sea view. We had 2 adults and 1 child below 12 in the room. With the new hotels around such as Galaxy, City of Dreams, MGM, Starworld there are lots of hotel buses or coaches (new ones) to catch so transportation was very much free of charge other than trips to and from airport. The hotel buses stops and pick up passengers at certain key destinations and tourist attractions so it was quite convenient and the buses which ply these routes come pretty often. So for free transportation Macau is the place to be and they dont ask if you are a hotel guest or not so it is pretty open to the public. We saved hundreds on travel $. Also a trip acorss the border to Zuhai China is recommended for shopping ...lots of replica stuff from fake Iphones to handbags, shoes etc. You name it they have it and all this just across the border.

First of all, the hotel is apparently quite some way from a bus stop into the city centre (I had to walk at least 10 minutes to the racecourse bus stops)...However, there is a shuttle bus service from the hotel, if you don't want to join the locals in a scramble for public transport seats...Staff wise...hmm, they are efficient, but not always friendly - the staff in the restaurant being a nice exception...The condition of the hotel is generally good, but its location has been affected by the reclamation and construction work all around it...As a result, like me, you may get a good view of a building site !...My room was quite comfortable and large, although it was a little intimidating to find a price list - of most items in the room :o !...(Maybe the hotel has a problem with people stealing - or "taking souvernirs", from the rooms :o !)...Breakfast is quite good value, if it is included in your hotel rate - quite tasty, with a Chinese / Western buffet...The meal is served in the nice, functional restaurant, which used to have a great view...Large windows (which used to face the sea), are now facing the Cotai reclamation area, with only a small body of water giving some idea of what the view used to be like...

Basically, the hotel is good value, but don't expect a great and very convenient location...

My husband and I happened to be assigned to stay at this hotel for a 14 day quarantine in Macao recently. Out of our expectation, we had a pleasant surprise by this hotel. The hotel provided full amendities and the room and toilet were clean, air-con worked perfectly and the daily 3 meals provided to us were well balanced and there were fresh apples too. In the room, however there was no coffee provided and as we are coffee adicts, we contacted the reception and Jammy was very kind and helpful enough to arrange for 2 packets of coffee to be sent to our room everyday. Without coffee intake, we would have been very stressed and bored during this 14 day quarantine. All our calls were answered promptly and whatever we needed, the supplies were sent to our room immediately! We would highly recommend this hotel for your vacation accommodation when you visit Macao. Thank you for making our 14 day quarantine, supposed to be a boring hotel stay, it turns out an enjoyable stay! PS the staff who delivered the 3 meals and tested our body temperature, he was very helpful too and had always served us with a smile!

The location is perfect just across galaxy hotel and shopping mall. You can use the extensive free transfers of galaxy hotel , venetian, city of dreams and cotai sands central which are all within the vicinity. You can also avail of there transfer going back to airport for free. The non smoking room we stay on the 9th floor is very clean and nice, very much better than its exterior and lobby. Room comes with lcd tv, ref, comfortable king size bed, very clean toilet with toiletries and bathtub. The buffet breakfast is also very filing and nice choices for asian. With the room rate only 1/3 of its neighboring hotel even with no free wifi, it is still my choice on my future stay.

We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is quiet and spacious. While it is not a 4 stars hotel, the price is very affordable. The hotel price includes a breakfast which is just average. The hotel is convenient located next to Galaxy hotel - classy hotel.

It's such a very amazing place in Macau. Went here last September 2014 and it was a great and enjoyable stay. The ground was nice and awesome. The room was perfectly neat and clean, spacious and beautifully decorated, the view from it was so pretty and stunning. The bathroom was simple and pleasant. The service was excellent because of the kind, friendly and professional staff and management of Pousada Marina Infante Hotel. I must say that our stay here was totally great and we will definitely come back here again.

I signed up a deal before I cross the border. I was told there will be shuttle bus from the border to the hotel. When I got there, hahaha I just realized I was got ripped. Ok no big deal. Cost me 100 hk dollars. Ok no problem. When I got to my room I was told no Wifi. A four star hotel without Wifi? Thanks a million. Will never go back ever again.

The Pousada Marina Infante is well located and clean. Rooms are adequate but not luxurious; there is free wi-fi. It is conveniently located for the casinos, for those who are into that sort of thing. The breakfast isn't great! Pleasant but not memorable.
