The hotel was old and clean. Our room is huge and we love it. Their staff was amazing at that time we even check in right away they did not ask for my booking reservation the staff looked just my passport and ask how many people will stay since we book a family room, also when we did our check out we just wait for a couple of minutes and were good to go.The scenery was spectacular at night and in the morning. Maybe we'll comeback next time we did enjoy our stay. Thank you.

i will not come back here because of the staff who are rude and they even tried to take our $200 deposit. eventhough, i like the location of this hotel coz its quiet here and their shuttle bus helped us to go around macau area. i just don't like the attitude the staff here, they seem to be so unprofessional and poorly trained, including their bus drivers who yell at customers. all of the drivers can't speak english and they are unfriendly.

this hotel is not for guests who can't speak chinese.
food at amigo restaurant is not good and not worth it. if you wanna dine here better choose the chinese restaurant not amigo.

overall, this hotel is not 5 star, the amenities and service is not 5 star.. this is only 3 star.

I requested a room change and ask the reception to move my bag to my new room, however they called me that they cant to this kind of service and ask me to go back to the hotel and do it myself!

Even i ask the reception lady my current situation they didn’t accept it and keep repeating i go back immediately.

I ask the lady to change my room 3009 to a Macau tower view, the reception kindly ask me to pay 100 MOP for a room change, i paid and ask the lady is it ok to help me move my two bag to the new room 3038, after that after few hours they called me in the middle of family gathering and ask me why! why! you left the bag to 3009 come back and pick up your bags and move it to room 3038, even told the reception that i will be back to the hotel around 30 to 40 mins.

No no the reception said we are fully booked! With Attitude asking me to go back immediately and move my two bags to the new room.

In this hotel paying guest have to adjust on the hotel staff demand, rivera hotel management should take a look at this and investigate!

Worst staycation ever! Will not recommend this hotel to anyone!

I booked via Booking.com on the 26th December for a room for 8 nights from 29th December.

I messaged the hotel then as well - no reply.

After travelling form UK to Macau, the hotel reception refused my acocmodation as i had a Yellow Health code. Note: the Macau government has stated all hotels can accept Yellow and Red Health code. so this was a personal choice.

They then tried to blame for for booking it and asked why didn't I contact them in advance. When i pointed out they hadn't answered my messages they tried to stop the conversation.

They requested i cancel the booking and i said no, i will not pay the cancellation fees, that they would need to cancel it, They also tried to avoid this, but once i called Booking.com the english speaking manager cancelled my booking and left.

The other staff did, in fairness, try to help me find other accomodation but struggled to get a definite "yes they have space and will accept a Yellow code". I did say until I had a confirmed place with a hotel I wasn't going to leave reception and be bounced around hotel to hotel after 24hours of traveling.

What annoys me most of this, they were happy to accept my money and book the room but failed to uphold contact/messaging. I can accept they didn't want to have Yellow/Red Health code travellers - but that should have been listed and identified - or asked after my message.

I am now in the IHG Holiday Inn in Macau and it is much more supportative.

This hotel is 4.5 star and the quality of the people is 5 stars.

There is always room for improvement of course.

This is an older hotel that has no gambling related business, but it is the most elegant residential area in Macau, where old money is concentrated. The area includes large Portuguese - style homes, and is one block away from Sai Van lake and from Penha church, an icon in Macau. It is located in extraordinary Penha area.

We were able to experience the Chinese New Year in Macau and the view and closeness to Sai Van lake allowed us to enjoy the fireworks show.

I am including several photographs of these places.

If you are not interested in gambling, this is an interesting experience. In fact we enjoyed it so much that we remained as guests for an extended period of time.

My special thanks to all employees, especially the hotel manager, front desk staff Judy, Nina and Oscar for their endless kindness.

The room itself is quite small but still quite well maintained. We had a good time as well as nighty sleep too. The genuine credit goes to the housekeeping staff who provide excellent service for us during our stay. Everything was exceptional in my stay. Very good manner with smiles all the way.
AWESOME! FANTASTIC!! HAPPY!!!
See you Soon again

This place is disgusting. I don't know when the other reviews were written, but this place has suffered severe water damage since. The smell of mold and mildew are permanent. You can see the mold coming through the wall paper. The staff are unfriendly and the buffet will scare you. My advice: Spend a couple more bucks, stay somewhere else, and enjoy Macau.

This is a very seedy place. My room - and several other people's rooms did not have the MATTRESS, so we had to sleep on the BOX SPRING. Yes, you got it right. It is not very subtle, as in "oh, I don't like the smell of their toiletries." It is as real as the Styrofoam statue of Bugs Bunny they have in their lobby. I guess they know better than to put an image of it on their site. The streaks of mildew line the shoddy wallpaper. The 'terrace' is a glorified chicken coop. The balcony doors are bolted shut. The Wifi is fabulously expensive and then IT DOES NOT WORK. The service is clueless, unprofessional and downright rude. If you want to avoid the big casino hotels, your better choice would be to sleep on the street. Our entire group left after one night and we spent the remaining six in Casa Real [see review], which is in a worse area, is a smoke-friendly establishment and yet a THOUSAND times better than the Riviera [i.e. Ritz]
