We got the standard room, the regular price was 425 000 Rp, after negotiation we paid 400 000 Rp. (they do not want to negotiate at all, but it was Sunday afternoon, beginning of September – it means just after high season, there were not so many people. The price does not reflect the quality of the accommodation but all...

Whenever you are searching info about the Mount Bromo trip on the internet, Cafe Lava gets mentionned. That's why we booked a standard room, private bathroom and hot shower with them to visit Bromo. Let's start with the positive aspects: 1) the location is great! You can easily walk to Mount Bromo viewpoint by foot (and avoid entrance fee) or...

We arrived here around 8pm and had pre booked a triple room. The room was large with big beds with appropriate bedding for the cold temperatures! The shower was hot and the room included a kettle. The actual restaurant served a good breakfast buffet which was complimentary. They also had good food on offer throughout the day for reasonable prices....

Unfortunately most of the food ordered at the restaurant was unavailable. The dishes ordered were also tasteless and overpriced compared to the tasty cheap warungs nearby and general food you can get for that price. I would not recommend to eat here. However, if the day is clear, a hot chocolate would be nice to accompany the view of mt...

Cafe Lava is the ideal place to stay when visiting Bromo. It is located in the heart of Cemoro Lawang which makes it a good base for the sunrise hike. The staff at the hotel is friendly and knowledgeable. Superior double room in the new wing was amazing and has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The food...

Simply Awful. All food was completely cold. Little to no chicken in our "Chicken Satay". Service very slow, had to request to have order placed after sitting for a half hour. Out of numerous dishes and water. Wifi wouldn't work. Told they had no chips yet when dish came out it had cold chips on plate !

You don't have lot of options in bromo area and cafe lava is one of the good ones. Its a no frill value for money place. Clean Lenin, decent food, hot water is what you can expect. Wifi works only in the restaurant. Can't ask for more than this in the money you pay. The place is bit old and...

the room was basic, nothing special It comes with one comfy queen size bed and hot shower. and i think that is enough for a short stay. The restaurant is good but we went there during a Rammadan festival so nothing much left to eat. In here you dont have a Bromo View but u can walk just few minutes...

Read many good reviews about Cafe Lava, but was disappointed by the greed of staff when there. I'd booked in advance an economy room for 175,000Rp - a high price for a very basic room. The staff would try to sell their higher priced rooms to walk-in customers and say that their lower priced ones were sold out to make...

Room is decent, clean and rate is affordable. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Hostel is just directly opposite lava resto that you can have your breakfast or meals over there. Accessible to nice view over Mount Bromo. Restaurant's view is awesome too if you sit at the balcony. No fan nor air-con in room cos the environment is cold enough...
