Had dinner here and I can definitely recommend the venison casserole. There were numerous huge chunks of meat and lovely mash in a tasty sauce. Just what you need on a cold winters day. Add in the open fire and a glass of wine and I could've stayed all evening. The owner Peter is very good at his job, going... More

The food and service was excellent. The homemade bread was delicious ans the pavlova to die for. Very comfy. Didn't stay here but recommend the restaurant. We were made most welcome and will come again when in Ireland.

Having stayed here many times for work I've never had a bad nights stay. The rooms are big, clean and tidy and the staff can't do enough for you. The hotel has in the past hosted the whole staff and production crew of the Game of Thrones. The hotel lobby and bar has many props and photos from the show.... More

Myself, my partner and my daughter had dinner in the Cuan restaurant tonight, one of the specials was pheasant and partridge and I ordered this along with my daughter. When the food arrived it looked appetising, however the partridge was quite tough. Not having had partridge before I accepted this was the texture and both myself and my daughter continued... More

We have visited Strangford for years, and the Cuan never let's us down. Sean our waiter couldn't have been more helpful, organising tables, menus,to pots of tea and water, etc. The food was superb from the famous chowder, breaded scampi to the venison, all very yummy, additional sides made it all a very satisfying meal.

This was my second time visiting the Cuan and the food has always been good. The place itself has that old restaurant feel to it that a lot of us would remember when our parents took us out. Don't be put of though as I take my kids with me and they both enjoy the food here. The staff are... More

Went for a day's walking in the nearby Castle Ward estate. After 14 miles we had a sharp appetite. Hadn't planned to eat out but thought we'd try our luck without having booked. Staff were very accommodating - menu was varied and I could honestly have eaten anything on it. Haven't enjoyed a meal like it in years. Fantastic for... More

I went to The Cuan for lunch as part of a Game of Thrones tour and ended up going back 2 days later for dinner. The food was so good and the staff and atmosphere of the pub was so nice. Really reasonably priced and decent portion sizes, I'd definitely recommend it.
