I wanted to spend a birthday in my home country for the first time since 1964. On previous visits to my brothers house in Portaferry we have also visited The Cuan for a meal and the food especially the fish was excellent. On this occasion I wanted to have my birthday meal in The Cuan and once again have the...

We went here for lunch as part of the Game of Thrones tour. The food was fast fresh and hot. Waitresses and all staff were fast, friendly and very courteous. It was the best fish and chips I have had since being in Ireland. Portions sizes were more than adequate and fish and chips was approx 12 pounds.

Strangford is a lovely place to visit. As part of a Game of Thrones tour we stopped to have lunch in The Cuan pub which is lovely inside. It has one of the dark hedges doors too which is beautiful and worth a look. While staff were lovely and very accommodating, I don't think the price of lunches reflected the...

Dear CMG4027 Thank you very much for your positive feedback. We are constantly striving to hold the balance between cost and selling price but the price has to move with all the rises in costs that are coming at us from all angles. We work very hard at giving our guests the very best experience and good value for money....

Once again we found a home from home in the Cuan where they really look after their guests like family. We have an 8 month old baby which can sometimes be challenging, but nothing is too much trouble and we even had cushions brought for her to play on. The food is as good as always, the seafood chowder being...

We came here for lunch as part of the Winterfell Game of Thrones tour (which was also excellent). I had the mussels and my husband had the lasagne. Both were delicious, very filling and a decent price. We particularly liked the bread which came with the mussels, which the manager advised was an old family recipe. We felt at home...

We stayed at The Cuan for one night. Peter's welcome was warm and sincere. The staff were outstanding, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Our evening meal and breakfast next morning was superb. Accommodation very clean, warm and cosy. Our stay was faultless thanks to a very efficiently run establishment. Great location for exploring the Ards Penninsula. Looking...

My partner and I are just back from a lovely weekend stay at the Cuan. The stay was the result of a happy accident; we were looking for a late valentine's weekend, and stumbled across The Cuan online. The location was perfect, we could go for walks around Castle Ward, or take a wee trip on the ferry to head...

I booked a table for a meal for my mother's birthday this Saturday past. I ordered the roast beef. Shortly after placing the food order, the waitress came out with two plates and asked "who is having the lamb". When no-one responded she looked shocked and took the plate away to ask the chef if the meal on the plate...

Dear Michelle A I am sorry to read that we fell short of your exceptions in relation to two of your dishes. They are actually our two lead dishes. The Rib Eye of Irish Beef is a wonderful cut of beef, it gets it delicious taste and moistness from the element of fat marbled throughout the meat, very occasionally (as...
