My boyfriend (now fiance!) and I booked 3 nights here as part of our summer holiday in Sardinia. Sole e Terra is beautifully situated in the countryside inbetween the hills of Bassacutena, (note - you will need a sat nav or a map!) It's a quiet, friendly, rustic agriturismo which is exclusively vegetarian. The rooms are simple, clean and ours had a beautiful view over the valley. You can sit outside and look up to all the stars. Which incidently is where we got engaged! The owners and staff were lovely and even accomodated extra guests for dinner at short notice. The quality of the food is superb. Being veggie it can sometimes be hard to find interesting food as there is usually the default cheese option. We were very happy with every meal. We ate so much and the wine was delicious. An added bonus of this place is the new swimming pool. It's big, clean and has a nice sun bathing area. When it's nearly 40 degrees there is nothing better than this! We used Sole e Terra as a base to visit the isles in the North West. It took 30 mins to drive to Palau and from there you can do an amazing boat tour of The Arcipelago Di La Maddalena. Think crystal clear waters and sandy beaches - bliss! All in all we loved this place and will definitly come back to celebrate our anniversarys! Emily and Fabrizio…
We started our vacation on Sardegna here, stayed 3 nights. With 2 kids, 1+ 4 years. I have travelled a lot as a professionel tour conductor, guide and also been in the service business. I´ve been in italy more than 25 times. The place is really nice located. Far out, but still only 30 minutes from the west coast. The room was nice and the welcome we got, was great. Alesandro (waiter) was really friendly and very valuable for the place. The room (one of them facing the pool and under the restaurant) was great, until we got neighbors = you can hear any sound straight through the door (that the for some reason made between the rooms) You can also here people upstairs in the restaurant, but luckily, the dining was outside the other nights. Things to improve: 1: the website says: "specialized in vegetarian food" it does´t say, ONLY vegetarian food! I was a little bit disappointed here, but the food was good. However, the super dry bread should be improved. 2: The constellation of several owners, some of them acting like guests, but beings hosts, was a bit strange. 3: We were charged full price for our daughter (4 years), who ate very little and of course, no wine. I think it should be half price. Other Agriturismo, often has a child menu price og can even be free for children that age. 4: One evening, we decided not to eat there, and left for the local town Bassacutena. When we came back, they had expected us and were (polite, but still) asking why we did´t show up. We had no idea, that if you don´t say anything, they expect you to eat there. Also, we were there all afternoon, so they could have asked. Like they did the day before. This system has to be explained at arrival or written in the papers in the room. 5: When checking out and paying, I was showed into the office and a slightly grumpy woman, was receiving the money. They had charged for the evening, where we didn't eat, and I asked her to change that. She did after talking to the waiter, but no apologies for the mistake. And no smile. I don´t want to pay 450 euro, and don´t get a little bit politeness. She could also have greeted and introduced herself, I had no idea who she was. One of the owners I guess. It´s important to leave a place in a nice way, because that´s the last memory of the place. This was unprofessional. with these small regulations, this place could be 4 - 4,5 stars. So don´t hesitate going here, just remember to get an offer with child menu included and not the noisy rooms under the restaurant. Ask for the new rooms. Best regards Andreas…
We didn't quite know what to expect of this agriturismo, but i have to say the experience was thoroughly enjoyable and very memorable. We only left a few days ago but already miss the people and the animals! Anja and staff were very hospitable, there are beautiful organic fruit trees which you are free to pick whenever you want. I was a bit apprehensive being a city girl, of perhaps "bugs" in the room but i did not see even one! The rooms were spotless! Onternet is only accessible in the common area (which is fine - you dont go to a farmstay to be glued to your phone). Likewise there are no tv's. The pool was an unexpected surprise - a little cold but on a jot day just beautiful! Very clean, new and big! And the food- spectacular! You must book dinner there every night. They even catered to my gluten free needs. :-)…
