Stazzo Chivoni is a wonderful B&B located in the hills just outside Luogosanto and an hour from Olbia Airport in North Sardinia. Some of the most stunning beaches imaginable are between 20-40 minutes drive away too, so you can have the best of both worlds, country and coast. The house is set in a huge, beautiful garden full of herbs, shrubs, succulents, cacti and mature trees. Sitting in the garden or on the verandah is simply heavenly, the smell of jasmine, herbs, curry plants and myrtle fills the air, cats wander past, mantis' do what mantis' do, birds sing, owls call to each other in the evening and the only sound apart from the odd cow lowing in the distance is the sound of crickets. Marzia is a fantastic host, her welcome and friendliness made us feel at home instantly and instantly relaxed after a longer than expected drive to Stazzo Chivoni (thank you sat nav). She gave us some great recommendations for food and drink before we arrived but we chose to just get some bread, olives, cheese, antipasti and fruit and a cheap bottle of wine from a local supermarket (better quality than top of the range establishments in the UK) for dinner both nights. Breakfast was served on the verandah, and was superb and plentiful, juice, coffee, bread, yoghurt, jams, cakes and a savoury tart warm from the oven one day, just a perfect start to the day. The guest room is well appointed, with a private bathroom, and private sitting room. The sitting room is stylishly decorated and redolent of Sardinia and also full of books about the island, the region and novels in a number of language and is a peaceful room to sit, read and chat in. A B&B and host who cannot be faulted, just wonderful and we'd love to go back.…
We stayed for five nights at this very charming and beautiful b&b. The cottage is located in a beautiful area and has a wonderful garden for a holiday you will remember for a long time. Marzia is a great hostess and told us full of enthousiasm about we could do or visit on this site of the island Sardinia. It is a perfect place to explore the north of the island!
This place is very charming stylish and romantic. perfect for couples who wants to stay away from tourist crowds and enjoy your time. garden is beautiful with plants and fruits. there is a backyard which is very beautiful to sit and relax. room is without air conditioner . beautiful starts at night . we even saw porcupine by the garden at night in the dark. this place is pretty close to Palau. you could take a ferry to Corsica and Maddalena to enjoy a day from Palau. it is absolutely beautiful there and it is worth a trip. If you drive towards Bassacutena, there is a gas station by the town and they serve absolutely delicious meals there ! its is very affordable . hosts were very nice and breakfast was fresh and prepared on time both days (we stayed there 2nights) They are very friendly and helpful. they will give you whole things to do guide when you get there. Oh and there is no wifi here.…
We very much enjoyed our stay at the B&B here in June – a very peaceful location, rustic accommodation in-keeping with the origins of the building but with the bonus of having the use of a sitting room, very clean, a beautiful garden and interesting wildlife (including baby tortoises). Leo and Marzia speak excellent English and could not have been more helpful with regard to advising us where to go, what to see etc. They had obviously gone to a lot of trouble preparing routes to different beaches and places of interest. We were served a magnificent different breakfast every morning, often with home grown treats.
What a wonderful experience! We loved everything about our stay. From the beautifully restored stazzo (in all of it authentic rustic and simple glory) to the amazing gardens complete with outdoor kitchen area, we shall never forget this slice of heaven in the paradise called Sardinia.
