From the minute I arrived I knew I was in a special place. The owner, Giulia, welcomed me like I was a long lost family member. The setting is sublime, with amazing views of the Tuscan hills. The food and wine was plentiful and sumptuous, and varied throughout the week. Accommodations were charming and comfortable. Whether sitting on my terrace...

I stayed at Il Grande Prato in June 2014, during a 3-days music workshop. With a party of 40 people, we had the entire place to ourselves, to make music and enjoy the lovely dinners under the pergola, with some good food and wine, chatting and playing around the swimming pool, the ping-pong and calcetto tables till first hours in...

This is an 1800's farmstead that has been meticulously refurbished to modern standards. From my two bedroom apartment I can see the Tuscan hills, the town of Castelfiorentino below and the most incredibly blue sky above. Giulia, the owner, makes everybody feel at home. Meals are served family style around large tables. In the evenings, between the candles and the...

From the moment you step onto the grounds of this charming farmhouse compound overlooking the Tuscan hills, you feel the warmth and character of owner/operator Giulia and family everywhere. Our group was a 45 year+ high school school reunion from all over the world, and there was no better place to delight in the reestablishment of old ties than in...

On your arrival to Il Grande Prato, you will be mesmerize by the charm and warmth of the place. You will be on a cloud, with yourself and mother nature. Giulia will do all her possible to make all your demands come true. If you want a meaningless 4 or 5 star hotel, this is not your choice. This is...

My husband and I recently spent a week here for a yoga retreat. Beautiful setting, wonderful meals, great facility, nice pool and top notch, very personable hosts and staff (really felt more like visiting a family friend). This was one of the most relaxing weeks I've ever spent in Europe. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get off...

We just returned after a week at Il Grande prato, where we were so impressed with the warmth of both the owners, staff and ambience of this unique and special property. A restored farmhouse with additional outbuildings creates a wonderful open compound of privacy that still retains its intimacy around each of the outbuildings that contain the guest rooms. The...

We spent 4 days in this truly amazing space. We even dropped one day of touring to one of the tuscan cities, just to be there at Il Grande Prato the whole day and relax at the pool, enjoy the wonderful garden, the huge property, the gorgeous scenery, and the quietness of this place. Giulia and her staff are awesome...

Our stay at Il Grande Prato was a fantastic opportunity for our 14 students to experience the authentic Tuscan lifestyle. Giulia and her staff were incredibly accommodating, and the language and cooking classes were fantastic. It was a truly memorable experience for students and staff and we hope to be back in the near future!
