We were not staying at this hotel but in a villa nearby and spotted it on the way to the beach at Castell. Went on a Monday evening. Not many diners. This is a classy restaurant, probably one of the best in the area. We all had fish dishes and without exception they were all first class. The service and...

We spent two nights in a wonderful first floor room overlooking the gardens. From the moment we handed over our bikes(we were on a 7 day cycling trip around the region)we felt we were guests in a wonderful country house. We retreated to the pool to wash off the dust and loved the walk through the gardens. Some hotels do luxury...

We had a fantastic lunch in the restaurant enjoying some of the best local food we have eaten in Catalonia. My wife's Lemon Meringue Pie was probably the tastiest desert we have had in all of our years in Spain. I will return soon to make sure that I order the correct desert next time!

What a beautiful property! So chic and classy. Surely, No touristy place. The service was wonderful, specially at breakfast time. The front desk was extremely helpful with other reservations and with all our questions. We had 2 very large rooms that cod not be any beautiful and comfortable. Ours had a huge living area with a extra large comfy white...

Location - in a converted farm house, 2 minute drive from the beach - Platja Castell Rooms - each room is unique, very tastefully decorated, with interesting carpets and accent pieces Internet - Free wifi Breakfast - good breakfast...

We had two nights at La Malcontenta in August and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The hotel was full however it always felt quiet and peaceful. The beach is about a 15 minute, easy walk away and the water is nice and clear and the beach not too crowded - compared to other beaches in the Costa Brava (however we were there...

We stayed here for 4 nights in August. Room - we stayed in room 12, which is lovely but does only have a window high up on the wall, so little natural light comes in. For us that was fine as we had already been away staying in several other hotels with views and balconies. However if this is a...

So I read a fellow traveler's caveat with regards to La Malcontenta being a tough hotel to find, and they were absolutely correct. But, you see, don't let this dissuade you from being that adventurous traveller you sought out to be. Once you get off the highway and onto the tiny rural road, where one must look both ways to...

It wasn't easy to find; but, we finally did it after wandering for an hour. Tranquil location & very nice large clean swimming pool with upscale lounges & poolside service--exceptional for a small hotel. Rooms very spacious; but lack easy storage for lots of luggage. Also, a little sad on the seating, because you have to put suitcases on the...

The house and decoration in this hotel are very sophisticated and beautiful, the high ceilings, big mirrors, marble in the bathroom... It is very comfortable, the beds and linens are wonderful, and there is no noise at night. The breakfast was huge and delicious. We loved the swimming pool. Everything is extremely clean, and luxurious. It is a big advantage...
