H10 Gran Tinerfe is often celebrated for its pristine and spacious rooms boasting sea views, though the decor may feel outdated to some and noise can be an issue. The staff garners compliments for their professionalism, despite occasional slow service. The hotel's amenities, including diverse food options and multiple pools, generally meet guests' expectations, but there's room for improvement.
Though the vibrant atmosphere is a hit, it contributes to a varied noise level that not all appreciate. Cleanliness is consistently lauded, and the location is deemed convenient, despite some concerns about the surrounding area.

Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
From the moment we stepped inside the H10 Gran Tinerfe we were blown away and knew we were going to love the holiday, and we were proved right.
As we walked up the steps the concierge came straight out and took our cases, asked our name and went to reception to let them were there.
They then knew we were privilege and we were greeted by Marina, who is fantastic at her job, and deserves a lot of credit, with a cold glass of cava for us she then explained everything to us in good detail, and then she showed us around, which is a lovely touch.
As we arrived there at midday, the room, understandably wasn't ready.
The hotel stored our cases, while we went for lunch, exploring more and taking in the sea air.
Once we were able to check in, our cases were then brought to the room for us. I have to be honest, I wasn't overly impressed with the allocated room, as a "privilege" room it wasn't anything special, so we went to reception to see about about an upgrade and if anything was available... fortunately they had a Junior Suite available for our 10 night stay, so I paid the extra and upgraded.
We were all inclusive with privilege and without a shadow of doubt this is 100% worth it, loved the privilege area with with the bali beds as these were in the shade and I'm not a sun worshiper so perfect, and the bar you can help yourself too, but for me the biggest bonus was being able to dine, breakfast, lunch & dinner in the À la carte restaurant El Mirado, at no extra cost, and bottled wine, the staff were brilliant and the food was great, we did venture into the buffet a couple of times and it was "ok" but just the usual Spanish buffet you get at an AI.
I do want to mention the smoking as a smoker myself I try to find out the do's and don't's before hand. They have quite a number of smoking areas, one by the tennis court, both the chill out and sunset bar, and in the privilege area, so for me that's more than adequate, and you can smoke on your balcony, I wasn't sure as there's not an ash tray out there, but you just ask at reception and they'll bring one to your room.
The animation team were second to none, absolutely the best, they all get mentioned all the time on Trip Advisor and it's well deserved, we pretty much tried all the "games" darts, pool, riffle shooting, archery, table tennis all great fun even if you loose... loved Yasmin, the happiest person in the world, and nicknamed my hubby Sparkly, great character.
The foam pool party was just brilliant, made me feel in my 20's again but that's what great, if your 20 or 70 it's what you make it, one of the highlights of the 10 days.
This was our first visit to Tenerife, and I personally don't feel it's all that it's hyped up to be... but, our stay at H10 Gran Tinerfe was that good, it will be the reason we return to the island.
Thank you H10 team fro a great holiday.

We choose H10 hotels if possible as have never had any complaints.
This was our first time at this particular hotel and it certainly did not disappoint. Our first time at an Adults only & it was very nice indeed. With a mix of all ages.
Check in accompanied by Cava was relatively smooth, with directions to our room & information leaflets given.
We are H10 members.
We had a second floor sea view room, which was perfect, modern, with a nespresso machine, bath robes, slippers, safe, fridge, flat tv with English channels, a huge modern rain shower, lovely comfortable king size bed & the best views of the sunset ever!
We chose Half Board, but A/I is an option.
It’s a cashless hotel, with all drinks etc. charged to your room to pay daily or at the end of your stay, this worked perfectly well for us.
The food in the restaurant is excellent, great bakery, breakfast eggs, omelettes, pancakes etc cooked to order and lovely smoothies. Evening meals you are allocated a time on arrival, which is no problem to change if not suitable, this eliminates any queuing & you are shown to a table by friendly staff.
The Hotel has an enviable position on the sea front, with a short walk to Las Américas (centre) in one direction and Porto Colon the other.
The outside areas are washed down early every morning, some Balinese beds and various different loungers around the pools and live that pool towels can be changed daily free! I personally like having a clean dry towel each day, but the environmentalists can equally keep theirs for the duration.
Last but not least, must be a mention of the entertainment, we did see some really good shows/acts in our 10 days there and Danni & his team of entertainment staff always had a smile & hello.
Thank you Gran Tinerfe. We will be back.

We booked a Priviledge room so this review relates to the Priviledge room and areas. This was one of the best hotels we have stayed in and certainly the best we have stayed in in Tenerife in about 10 visits.
The room could not be faulted and we were on the 10th floor with great views out to the sea.
The Priviledge lounge area and vast decking area with loungers was superb.
We were a bit disappointed in the quality of the meals in the a la carte restaurant and didn't compete with the food in the H10 Rubicon in Lanzarote where we stayed the year before. We thought that the quality of the food in the buffet restaurant exceeded our expectations.
Cleanliness throughout the hotel was first class as was the service and friendliness of all staff.
Whilst we did have the one little moan about the food it would not deter us from going back and this will be our first choice hotel from now on.

Our 4th day at the h10 gran tinerfe and although there are lots of great aspects of the hotel it isn’t your typical 4 star adults only.
The hotel is extremely covid safe, you have temperate checks upon entering the hotel and restaurants and masks are to be worn at all times. There are plenty of sun loungers around the various pools and you are unable to reserve a bed before 10pm. You have to book for dinner at the buffet via a qr code and all menus at both bars and restaurants accessible via the code too. The hotel is in a perfect location and it’s within walking distance to more than enough bars and restaurants.
We are currently all inclusive with a basic double room, it is spacious and very clean however there is very very loud music until 12pm and you can hear people walking by in the early hours. This is to be expected in a hotel so close to bars etc but the music/singing is from the hotel bar below. We have been to reception to complain about this as it’s so loud and not great singing to which we’re told we would have to pay an extra 40€ per day to move rooms.
The food at the buffet is below the expected standard. It is falsely advertised on the jet2 website that there is a buffet, a la carte restaurant and a food experience which you are able to use 1 night per 7 night stay. We have been eating in the a la carte brasserie for lunch which is fab with great views over the beach but it’s actually only available to privilege guests on an evening, so you are basically left with the buffet every night. We have eaten out most nights despite being all inclusive as our first experience at the buffet wasn’t great. Mikes coffee shop is great offering a selection of coffees, milkshakes and ice creams. There are snacks available all day at the pool bar and also mikes coffee shops. There is also advertised on the hotel website a pizzeria which we visited yesterday and had to pay 2€ a slice despite being all inclusive.
You are able to exchange towels every day at the spa and the gym has plenty of equipment and you also have to book on a qr code to visit. Although the hotel is right on the beach you do have to pay for sun loungers on there.

I had written a review on leaving the hotel but it has disappeared. Stayed here a week ago ALL INCLUSIVE. On enquiring about privilege at an extra 80 euros a day the only benefits were eating in the separate restaurant with waiter service, separate sun bathing terrace where you can help yourself to drinks, which really would not be worth it.
The staff at this hotel work very hard, there arn't enough of them in the buffet restaurant but they try their best.
We had a problem with our shower, it was fixed straight away, a bedside light came off the wall, sorted immediately.
Food, what you would expect, we always found something we liked, the lady cooking the eggs and omelettes in the morning could really do with speaking a little English. Fresh meat is also cooked in the evening but is so tough I wouldn't bother trying this. Plenty of fresh salads, hot and cold dishes. Breakfast was pretty good usual savaloy sausages and fatty bacon but the freshly cooked crepes were very nice, plenty of fruit
The Asenson restaurant which you are allowed in once is not worth a visit, they serve you with a selection of small dishes one after the other and each one was inedible.
Entertainment: Not bad Freddie Mercury was resurrected, looked nothing like him but he could sing, Tina Turner stomped around, the best was in the reception area there was a lovely lady singer and a sax player who was very good
Cleanliness very good, we had a bungalow room on the groundfloor lovely large room, too near to the evening entertainment which is often outside. I would have preferred a separate shower as this was over the bath and my husband who has had new knees had to climb in to use the shower. Mattress rather hard.
Weather, a lot of heavy rain, quite a bit of cloud, maybe not the best time of year to go if your a sun worshipper.
Lovely pools but why are they freezing cold? There is one smaller heated pool which was pleasant.
Walking distance to shops and beach, shuttle to the hotel was delayed, the driver didn't speak English, we booked a taxi to the Airport when we left its only about £25 worth doing.
Be warned!! Men are required to wear long trousers for dinner and women generally dress up.
Drink is plentiful and David an Irishmen who has been at the hotel for years serves a mean Baileys!! No kettle in room unless you are Privilege I bought a collapsible travel kettle and took a couple of mugs and tea bags, can't get out of bed without my cuppa
Masks - a pain I know but they are required whenever you walk around, once seated you can remove them.
Paperwork: make sure you have all the necessary paperwork for the airport printed off do not rely on wifi, ie vaccination proof and relevant forms.
Not come across H10 before but I would certainly use them again.

Great location right by the sea...
we had a chaotic very delayed flight and arrival due to the worse Calima(sandstorm) in living memory. We arrived to a reception full of displaced people who did not know what was happening. We had experienced a 22hrs delay so were tired too. Reception was ok but we were not offered lunch despite having missed dinner the previous night and breakfast. Fortunately as we had opted for the Privilege package we could wait for our room to be ready in the lounge with drinks and snacks.
When we got to the room, it was fine, sea view, nice large shower and good toiletries. Storage limited especially hooks. The safe was open but no key, so I went back to reception only told very officiously we had been given it. We had not! And they eventually found the key which was in the wrong place and a very reluctant apology. The reception staff in one way were pleasant but we did on a few more occasions experience the officious attitude which we could do without! But will say that whilst we arrived in chaos all staff clearly worked extremely hard to get everything back to normal after the storm including the pools. They also had the sister hotel going into lockdown due to Coronavirus ! 2 days later everything was back to normal and spotlessly clean for which they should be praised!!
We had chosen the Privilege package. All good except for smoking. I would suggest the hotel needs to consider introducing designated smoking areas or smoke free zones! We suffered from smokers, including cigar smokers, on the terrace, the buffet outside dining area at breakfast and dinner and the entertainment lounge smelling of smoke too. Very unpleasant and difficult to get away from. I did try to speak to the management as I don’t see this as a difficult issue to resolve but without any satisfactory outcome. Mirella the Privilege hostess said it was difficult as not law🙄
Food varied. Had to send numerous meals back in the Mirador restaurant. Lamb, salmon, prawns and pancakes all arrived raw and we don’t like well done food!!! Buffet was good, exceptional choice at breakfast. In many ways I preferred the buffet to the Mirador but like to sit outside and with people lighting up as you eat at dinner went back to Mirador despite the at time’s slow service.
We loved the constant clean towels. My one piece of laundry came back with a stain I could not remove gone! Brilliant 😉
Entertainment was varied. Some great and some not so but like another reviewer said we could do without the certificate giving etc every night and nationality identification!
Would we go again? Yes I think so. Lots of positives but a few tweaks would make it even better for all. They must be commended on their continued hard work to ensure it is spotlessly clean especially in current times! Thanks for a lovely holiday, weather was perfect.
we had a chaotic very delayed flight and arrival due to the worse Calima(sandstorm) in living memory.
Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your very detailed review about your stay at H10 Gran Tinerfe on TripAdvisor. We are very glad to know, that you had a pleasant time with us, despite your rough arrival. Thank you very much, for understanding that after the Calima it took us a while to clean everything up. We did our best and were happy it just took two days. However, we are sorry to hear we could not offer you an option for lunch on your arrival day. Still, we are happy that you liked your Privilege package, including the privilege lounge, terrace and choice between the buffet and a la carte restaurant. We also apologize for the confusion concerning the safe key and for all the inconveniences it brought, as well as that we do not yet have specific smoking areas. Thank you very much for all the feedback you gave us on our staff, the restaurants and the entertainment programme. This will help us in the future to improve ourselves further and further. We are looking forward to seeing you again soon in your next vacation in Tenerife. Best Wishes, Juan Andrés Vegas Guest Service H10 Gran Tinerfe

Good location, I would say nearer to Las Américas than Adeje but still very nice, clean, good food, very pleasant staff. Lots of beds and seating areas to chose from on different levels which we loved. (Some seats a bit low to get out of though 😂)
We had the Privilege package which worked for us, good selection of branded drinks, tea/coffee/snacks in the ‘Privilege lounge’ 9am to 9pm, glad we didn’t do the AI as there are lots of bars and restaurants nearby to choose from. We did tend to use the buffet restaurant in preference to the A la carte, you would have to decide for yourself!
Had a lovely room with a sea view, there was a coffee machine but I took my own kettle as I prefer tea. One of my gripes, not just in this hotel, many others too, why oh why can they not put a plug and a mirror above the desk/ dressing table so that we can sit and get ready after our shower, I don’t want to be in a steam filled bathroom to dry my hair.
There are only 2 small drawers, could do with a few more.
Some of the entertainment was very good especially the rock band, I did however object to the ‘certificate’ giving ceremony before the entertainment, this is an adult only hotel, by all means join in the activities, but the certificates did make it feel a little like a ‘holiday camp’
2 pools not heated so very cold but the other one is heated.
They are refurbishing some of the rooms, so there was some noise and I wouldn’t have wanted a room near one that was being worked on, having said that our room was fine and only heard drilling a few times whilst sunbathing it did not impact on our holiday very much at all.
We took a trip on the ‘Noddy Train’ one day, wouldn’t recommend, much better to stroll either way out of the back of the hotel, you can walk as far or as little as you want along the front passing many different bars, shops etc.
There were a couple of places out of the many restaurants we liked, one bring Rossini’s Italian restaurant for an evening meal, left out the front of the hotel follow the road right to the top of the hill, turn left, cross road, at the far end of the block of shops (10to15 minute stroll)
Lunchtime we had some lovely tapas and other good food at the Castle, turn right out of the back door of hotel (-3) up the steps, it looks out to the sea, reasonably priced.
We only booked the holiday 10 days before we went to get away from the awful weather we’ve been having in Blighty! all in all we had a great holiday with beautiful weather.
I’m sure you won’t be disappointed if you choose the privilege option at this hotel.
We will return for a winter break.
Hope you enjoy your holiday wherever you choose.

From the time we arrived we were greeted and treated as long lost friends...service at reception was impeccable. We had booked half board and priveledge, which I am glad we did as our room had a super sea view. Priveledge lounge was a bonus and we could drink our tea/coffee and soft drinks from 9am to 9pm.(we don't drink alcohol)although there was a good selection of spirits and beer/lager to choose from .Be warned do not take any drinks out of this room say to the pool or back to your room as you will be charged for it on your bill when you leave, cameras are watching and staff know who you are. Breakfast didn't disappoint as this was a buffet, and you were really spoilt for choice, you can make your own tea & coffee here. Evening meal was again a buffet but be warned you will get charged for any drinks you have even water at 2.40 euro a bottle, which I thought was a bit of a cheek as you couldnt get a cup of free water to have with your meal.
The priveledge dining restaurant for breakfast was good as was the evening meal, but not much choice, hence we ate in the buffet most nights. The hotel is spotless and couldn't be in a better position for walks into towns either way. Plenty of eateries about as there is shops. The beach in front of the hotel is quite busy and nice to dip your feet in although hats off to those brave enough that went in and had a morning swim.My tip for fellow travellers to this hotel is take a travel kettle with you, although you can hire one and buy your water in the supermarket @ 50 cents a bottle.Ask for a room high up as the lower you are the noisier it is in the evening from the surrounding bars and restaurants, there's only so much Tom Jones impersonated songs in one night that one can take when you are trying to sleep. All in all we had a lovely holiday and as a seasoned traveller would return back to this hotel.

Really disappointed with the place.
Stayed over Christmas & New Year for about our second visit to this hotel. The location, restaurant, bar staff are excellent, very friendly and efficient. Reception staff was unpolite, unkind and not reliable. The hotel bedrooms and corridors are very tired, and need upgraded to justify the prices charged. The gala dinner on New Year’s Eve was excellent but sad to say the quality of the food during the rest of our stay was "just ok". Although we love the location of the hotel and the pool area not sure if we will be back as increasing the price of drinks on Christmas Eve & New Year's Eve and charging for a seat to be part of the celebrations to me is not acceptable, especially as the entertainment was truly awful. Although the rooms were cleaned every day the standard has definitely slipped, the bath was never cleaned proper during our stay, the vanity unit & shower in the bathroom was never even wiped.
Noise from music bar! -We stayed i 5th floor with mountain view an after the daily show from 2145-2230(which was good). It was music before and after the show. In that period, it was impossible to relax, watch TV or sleep. On Christmas Eve & New Year Eve they had the Music out on a stage intel 1 AM & 2 AM.
Music: Do you prefer 70s-80s’ music? You will love it! But the same songs repeated every night.....I saw just approx.. 20 people left in the bar after the daily evening show. That should explain everything about music selection.
Why not play new music??
If you want to relax do NOT stay here!

+1
First visit to H10 Gran Tinerfe and not disappointed. From the moment we arrived the reception staff were friendly and efficient with our check in. We had sixth floor room (620) overlooking the beach and terrace and although there were odd little signs of wear and tear the room was very clean and comfortable with welcome bottle of water which was welcome after our journey. Nespressso coffee machine as standard but kettle and tea supplies requested as wife is non coffee drinker. Mini bar stocked with water, beer, coke and orange juice but we opted for empty fridge at €10 charge.
Meals were buffet style at the Los Menceyes restaurant and choices were plentiful with show cooking at dinner. Long trouser rules have been relaxed allowing men to wear tailored shorts although a lot of seemed to interpret that as anything goes with sports shorts/tops.
Nice little boutique shop next to restaurant to get a dialy paper as well as reasonably priced fashion and jewellery and an ever friendly smile.
Two pools with the bottom pool having better access via steps for those who find ladders a bit difficult. Just be aware that if you try and reserve sun loungers or beds before 10am you are likely to find your towels etc moved by staff with a polite note outlining the rules.
Despacio spa offered some discounted treatments on day of arrival and occasionally during week although posted prices were reasonable and are charged to your room.
Daytime activities start with stretch out excersise then later include French boules on the beach every morning at 11 which is a great way to meet some of your fellow guests. Numerous other activities throughout the day include archery, air rifle, darts, table tennis to name a few. There is also a guest water polo match every other day which is great fun... obviously these are all optional and up you just want to chill then you can.
The hotel entertainment team in charge of all of the daytime activities are headed by the wonderful Dani ably assisted by Nerea who also oversea the evening entertainment programme comparing a different act each night at the Teide bar and weekly music at the sunset beach bar. What can I say about these guys except THANK YOU, you certainly made our holiday with your infectious personalities and ever present smiles, encouraging all to come and join in.
It was 50 years ago that the Gran Tinerfe opened and started what became one of Tenerifes favourite resorts and they are still bringing the best to their guests.

Hi this rule only applies to just in the evening & then only in winter months, during May to September smart shorts are allowed in the evening. However, this is the 21st century & I think smart shorts should be allowed all year.
Yes, little tip is help yourself at breakfast for additional sachets or tea bags as there’s never enough
