It was really a nice surprise to see the environment with the amenities. We really like it and have a nice walk around.
Now about the villa: be aware that it is a complex where the villas are owned by individuals and they put it for rent and it is all manage like a hotel. That means from a villa to another you will not get the same standing or same service.
About the one I stayed in, globally it is a good villa which need more maintenance: the bathrooms was clean but a bit old. Beds were ok we have all the necessary bedsheets and towels and same in the kitchen ( glasses, plates, pans, fridge ( freezer was by the way not properly clean), oven , microwave). A terrace and small garden with table and chairs.
Very bad point: AC in the living room but no AC in the bedrooms just fans but not helpful at all during summer time when it is dry . So no good sleep because you have to keep the window open ( and you can easily hear the singing birds all night long :-)and so the curtain. Early morning the room is already full of light. So you really come here first for the environment and the situation between Byron bay and others cities of Gold Coast or Brisbane) and of course the type of villa you will get.

I must admit I didn’t read the reviews until after we had booked our accomodation and I was very worried about what we might find. There was no need to worry!! We drove from Canberra all the way non stop and didn’t arrive until 3am and staff had left our keys in the safe for us. I only meet Kathy from front reception and I found her very approachable, friendly and helpful. We were meant to have a two bedroom garden unit and upon arriving found that we had an upgrade to a 3 bedroom which was great so the kids didn’t need to share a room. The unit was neat, clean and comfortable with everything u may need. Kids loved the pools and the river where we fished. Close drive to everything, shops, beaches and petrol stations
We had a great stay and we are looking forward to returning next year in April
Thank you Isle of Palms for a memorable stay

No swimming this time of year (Feb) but lots of shell collecting. The winter beach was even emptier than I imagined, although the locals said it was warmer than usual. The breeze at the shore was chilly. It was a nice quiet week, but where on earth do people park in season?

I could never describe how disappointed this place was! Cockroaches, filthy floors, walls, bathrooms, bedding, towels! To celebrate three birthdays and a farewell in a place this disgusting was an embarrassment! $949 total was not worth it. My heart still breaks thinking I took my family there for my daughter’s 21st; and two sisters from New Zealand to celebrate their 50th and 65th birthday. Yet management promised to refund me $150 if I removed my reviews from social media? I guess I’ll forfeit the money to let others know that depending on your standards, Unit 163 will be far below anyone would ever expect for 4 nights at $949. It’s a disgrace to say the least!

Make sure you have a back up plan! Booked a 4 bedroom villa with a pool back in June for a December holiday through the website. Staff then contacted me in September (13 weeks) before my trip to say that they no longer managed the accommodation however they could find me alternate discounted accommodation which was double the price that I paid. How kind. This was a getaway for my family who are visiting from the UK for the first time since the pandemic and I now have 3 months to try and secure accommodation in the Gold Coast around Christmas time. If you do risk booking anything at the Isle of Palms Resort, just make sure you have a back up plan.

We recently stayed for 6 nights. Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you to the reception staff, Kathy, Caitlin & Leonie. What lovely ladies ! Nothing was too much of an issue to them at all. The townhouse we stayed in was very well kept, very clean and very comfortable. We had a 3 bedroom waterfront townhouse. Fishing just off the deck was so relaxing. While the complex is a mix of residents and holiday guests, there was no issue with anyone and the ones we came across were very pleasant. The facilities are amazing. 2 pools, a spa (refurbished), tennis courts and a lovely walk around the canals. Very close to The Pines shopping centre made it a brilliant place to stay. I highly recommend staying at the Isle of Palms for your next getaway !

Management, locals and position were 10/10, place very clean but 1 huge issue. BEWARE BARKING DOGS ALL DAY. So half the complex is resort and half owners unit 58 got a puppy it seems and leave the dog 8 h of day howling. Holiday from hell and nobody does anything about it, so sad as without this noise would of loved staying here to relax on the creek.

Absolutely disgusting. Mouldy furnishings, torn fly screens, dead insects stuck to windows, ant infested kitchen, lounge falling to pieces. Management do not care, quite happy to falsely advertise the "resort" as 4 star and take your money, when clearly it is not. Mouldy showers and questionable brown stains on the floor around the toilet. The toilet adjacent to the dining area had a door that couldn't be closed. Very unpleasant if you happened to be sitting at the dining table! There was dried food on 90% of the crockery in the cupboard. We had to wash everything before we could use it. Not the start to our holiday I was looking forward to! All this in our apartment that had apparently just been cleaned.
This place was so filthy, we had no choice other than to leave and pay to stay elsewhere.
Our email complaint was met with threats and a comment refusing to enter into any further discussion.

Response from Isle Of Palms M, Front Office Manager at Isle Of Palms Resort
Responded 4 Feb 2014
Dear Tracie, To say that your comments are disappointing is an understatement and we are certainly to hear displeased that you did not enjoy your stay with us. Given the more than positive reports we normally receive we would like to advise that when your concerns were raised with our staff we offered to attend to these issues and take affirmative action at the time, however this offer was declined. We are confident that there are no resorts, hotels, motels or serviced apartments in Elanora with facilities that surpass our own, however understand that accommodation is a personal choice and will differ from one guest to another.

Abusive staff, shooddy rooms, Bad location, and outright lies! DO NOT STAY HERE
The door handle in the bathroom fell off, (temperarally locking mum in!)
Do not go in the spa pools- They are cold, they stop having bubbles after 7pm! and they have so much clorine in them they will turn/RUIN your BLACK togs a metalic brown colour! -
I told the manager this and he RUDELY CALLED MY CELL PHONE AND ABUSED ME
The games room, as per the website- well its a room with a few pinball games you pay for!
Terrible location- if your 80 its ok but if you want to be within 15 minuates drive of ANYTHING dont go here.
Highlight of the stay- one lady receptionist was awesome

We stayed here for old annual summer vacation. At first it seemed good. The price was ok, $200/nt high season. We booked 10 months inadvance and spent the whole year getitng excited for our first summer holiday to the Gold Coast as a family. It all seemed ok. The grounds looked good and the pool area was nice. The second we stepped into the unit we were shocked. The decor was straight out the the 1970's. The paint was peeling and the unit stank of musty mould. The oven looked like it hadn't been cleaned since...well ever. The rear sliding door wouldn't lock, the place wasn't air conditioned which meant having to leave the doors and windows open allowing the cigarette fumes from both neighbours fill our unit. When we checked in, our plans had changed and we wanted to stay an extra two days, which they happily obliged. After experiencing the first few hours in the unit we returned to the reception to cancel those two days. They refused and got abusive. They accused us of being chronic whingers and our expectations were too high. The pools were always over crowded to the point of being dangerous. The majority of the units are run down and in need of renovation. The point is, the good comments are from the visitors who got lucky and scored the 2 or 3 good units. The rest are just run-down. Sure, those two or three good units are 4 star quality. This is how they got the rating.
In conclusion, the units are not 4 star, the managers are rude and egocentric and refuse to accept any sort of constructive criticism. If you make any sort of complaint they will just accuse you of being a perferctionist and overly demanding. But when you pay so much money for quality accomodation, you have a right to complain when you dont get what you pay for. These people have no idea how to run a hospitality business. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, ITS BETTER VALUE FOR MONEY
