Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed 2 nights and got a lake view room , we should of paid extra to get a renovated room . The view was great , loved the view and the place was clean but the room itself could use some TLC , the lounge was extremely uncomfortable the bed was only a little better then the lounge sadly I ended up with a sore back after being on both . The oven looked worse for wear ( we didn’t use it rather went next door to the shopping centre to get food ) the bathroom needed a full Reno ! The mirror needed replacing
There seems to be a lot of permanent residence there
The pool looked inviting but we didn’t get a chance to use it , if we stay again will be paying extra to get a refurbished room

Recent renovations have made this venue an attractive destination to consider in our choice of hotels in the Gold Coast. While not as luxurious as many other hotels, the room facilities were minimal but adequate for our needs and the cost was good value. Our room was number 22 and was very clean, quiet, spacious and modern. The bed was comfortable, shower was hot and strong and parking available. The staff were helpful and we are looking forward to returning soon.

Nice and convenient location on southern end of the Gold Coast. Quick walk to the Pines Shopping Centre (next door). You can tell when it was built that it was based on a Thai or South East Asian style resort from the 1980s. With the swimming pool in the centre of the Resort, from inside your room, you can hear people swimming and having fun in the pool. One annoyance was the curtains did not block out the outside security lights that shone all night, even when we clipped the curtains together with pegs - light shone through underneath and the sides.

My partner and I stayed here over the Australia Day long weekend and paid a premium for two nights. Upon arrival the receptionist was lovely and welcoming, the pool and lake were nice, but our room was of poor cleanliness and the air conditioning kept coming up with an error every 15 minutes and turning off. We mentioned this to the receptionist and the best we got was 'sorry, we already know about this issue and it won't be fixed until Tuesday' (after we have left). I was very frustrated that there was no offer to move rooms or at the very least offer a discount on the room. We ended up having to buy a portable fan (as pictured) as the room for far too stuffy and unbearable in the Qld summer heat. I was not impressed, do not recommend and will not be returning here to stay again.

This place is disgusting behaviour they have tenants that live here and abuse other visitors and cause big fights and the night manager wants nothing to do with the whole lot I will never come here again. A couple asked to move rooms and got told there was none which was a lie and then they had to go find somewhere else to stay at 10pm. I’m utterly disgusted. They advise that’s there’s a bar when there’s not.

We came for a short stay with our 2 kids and overall, it was ok. The price is what makes me give this place 3 instead of 2 stars because it was excellent value. However, the toilet ran the whole time, amenities were average and the bed was super uncomfortable. The pool area was nice. It wasn't an unpleasant stay, but I also wouldn't rush back.

This was a good value stay for the Gold Coast. My apartment overlooked the lake which was pretty. Good kitchen and room facilities. Only interacted with staff member once who was friendly.
My only set back is the car park is a but far from the room which is okay, however with a lot of luggage its a bit of a strain, especially as I had an upstairs apartment.
Overall, I would recommend this relaxing place with a nice room view and great pool area.

Warm welcome on arrival. The property is older but looks like it has had a facelift. Everything was clean and presentable. Well equipped kitchen and the laundry was handy. Beautiful location and views of the lake. Handy for the local shopping centre.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment. Very spacious, fully equipped and clean. Reception staff were polite and friendly. Shopping centre across the road.
Plenty of parking space.
Rooms were quiet.
Great pool and heated spa.

Booked this based on past reviews & photos on trip advisor.
We where disappointed when we first arrived as the place looked a bit run down. Found the car park which is difficult to park in & a long way from the room we stayed in. The room looked basic & didn't reflect the price paid. The room was very run down e.g. Tiles lifting & cracked in the shower, half of the stove top did t work & appears it hasn't for a while judging by the tag on the cord. Heaps of other issues which could be fixed with some maintenance. No cloths iron or board. Kitchenette extremely small. The main bed was comfortable. Staffed seemed friendly. I wouldn't stay here again sorry.

I have stayed at this resort on a few occasions in different rooms. This place is an older resort and some rooms need more work done on them than others. I found the beds to be comfortable, rooms clean, bathrooms were different in each room but everything worked. I found the managers more than helpful and very polite. It's not up there with the Morriet but for the price and the location it's a nice place for a holiday.. Sorry you had a bad experience...

Hi. We did see some canoes while we were there, so I think it won't be a problem. But please do check with Reception to get a definite answer. Thanks and enjoy!

Thank you for your question. Past guests have done a wonderful job on explaining our cleaning and servicing program. You will find that most accommodation on the Gold Coast is the same with weekly servicing except the larger chain hotels that service daily. Should you have any further questions please feel free to drop us a line. Ann Michelon (Manager) Bay of Palms Resort

Hi, are the bathrooms accessible for wheelchair users?

Thank you for your email. - Some Standard 1 bedroom apartments and studio rooms have shower curtains instead of show screens this helps with guests with mobility problems however in all showers there is 1 step into the shower - fine for some people with assistance but no good for persons unable to change from wheel chair to shower seat. Hope this helps - should you require further information please do not hesitate to contact me. Ann Michelon Manaher
