Chanwu is a great hotel for exploring the Shaolin Temple, Songshan and other nearby attractions. The reception staff was excellent, helping us organize vehicles, massages and always having a smile on their face. The hotel also organizes a nightly Kung Fu show which was actually better than the show at the Shaolin temple. Rooms are clean and can accommodate three...

Chanwu Hotel is a good option for Dengfeng! We had a very positive experience there. Its a good hotel with nice people and as other places in China with very less people speaking english and a chinese breakfast. Take some cereal bars in your luggage. Located at east Shaolin Avenue of Dengfeng city it is the originated place of Taoism,...

Nice hotel with good location to visit attractions near DengFeng town. Hotel itself is chinese style (breakfast as well) but my room was pretty spacious and clean. A taxi ride to the city center takes 7-8 minutes for around 7 RMB. There are several kung-fu schools nearby. Hard bed unfortunately like many chinese style hotels. English is spoken at basic...

We stayed one night in this hotel and we were very pleased with our nice room (Nr. 301). Unfortunately, the staff doesn't speak English very well and they don't understand easy and common words (e.g. "fridge"). But the staff was very friendly and tried to help us as best as they could. It took us arround 20min to get to...

Good: The restaurant attached to the hotel is very good and quite cheap. Large room. Chinese service: the staff is really nice and will do as much as they can if you ask politely and make the effort to ask in Chinese. They took us at the Kung fu school next door and asked the guys there to let us...

We stayed here in July 2015 while visiting Shaolin temple. It was just a 15 yuan taxi drive to Shaolin Temple, quite near on a straight road. The staff was very helpful and can speak basic English.. The room included 2 free breakfasts. Buffet breakfast was great, with a good spread of food and fruits. Excellent scenery at the garden...

Usually we stay in hotels within walking distance of restaurants so we have the option of dining either in the hotel or outside. Initially we were concerned when we saw the location of the hotel since there did not appear to be restaurants nearby. However this turned out not to be a problem since the food in the dining room...

The hotel is kinda in the middle of nowhere, not walkable distance to shops. But hotel restaurant has decent food at a good price, so no need to walk anywhere. Hotel rooms have a motel like feel to them, but lobby and the outside of hotel looks fancy. The staff all speak English. Kung fu school next door, practicing in...

This hotel is nice, very chinese style with an interesting decor. The bathroom was nice, the rooms were ok. One wall looked like there was mold on the wall... Breakfast was ok, typical chinese food and some toast (but no knifes :D ) It is close to the Shaolin Temple and close to the Shaolin Zen Music Ritual (it was...
